It was my first time at Motorious, through a friend's recommendation. And I wasn't disappointed. Friendly and professional crew ran by Colin, the owner. I dropped off my street glide mid-day. A week before the Christmas holiday and they had a good amount of bikes lined up in the shop. A simple suspension installation, but Colin made sure that my bike gets done by the end of the day. He explained that usually, it takes 2 to 3 day turnaround to get a bike worked on, but due to the holiday break coming up, he had it done the same day with no extra charge. First, people visiting this page should know that JLK Precision is no longer in business, and that when you call this number it'll connect you to Motorious Speed Shop. Completely different owners, but same space and (smartly) same number. I got a good vibe from Colin when I called on the phone and took my Harley in for a 20k mileage tuneup. Knowledgeable and helpful guy, but it was clear once I got there that they prefer to be working on custom rides or speed projects. I never got a full explanation of what was inspected after the tuneup (what was inspected, tightened, or needs work etc). And long story short, we ran into some issues with the tuneup. Colin and his crew were helpful throughout the process, but I began to doubt their level of expertise with my ride. I think this place does well with that they have available, and I think they'd do good work on customs. But if you have a Harley and really just want a clean inspection / oil change etc. I'd say you might wanna look into SF Harley Davidson read more

This is a real motorcycle shop catering to Harley Davidson mostly. I can probably write a couple pages about this place, but I know no one wants to read that much nowadays. So I will break it down into categories. Techs: Larry is amazing. He can, and has, built custom bikes from the ground up. Not only does he do an amazing service job but he has the care and appreciation as a rider himself to make sure the motorcycle is right for each and every individual customer. Did I mention he is the best Dyno tech for motorcycles in the bay area? Services: They still have one of the few remaining Dyno tuners around. Their merchandise area has an on hand assortment of extras and helmets for a quick upgrade, but if you do not see what you want they can order it for you.They have a full Machine shop on the premise as well so they can make you a true custom motorcycle, inside and out. Feeling: The shop has a local bar feel to it. Not that they serve drinks, just that there are always a bunch of motorcyclist hanging out in the place like it is a second home. Also, they have a mascot that loves motorcycles too. Other than the dealer it's tough to find anyone that can/will fix vrods so it's no surprise that I called a number of shops before making the final call to JLK. After some conversation I decided to bring my bike in and give them a try and I'm glad I did. My bike was in all around rough shape after an extended period of time sitting in the garage. They listened to what I knew needed to be done and talked about some things they were going to be looking for (I needed some new front brake pads). After making the needed repairs they also detailed the bike, restoring it to the condition I bought it in. On my way out the mechanic made sure the shocks were properly set and that everything met my standards. I am glad I found these guys and this shop. I recently put a thunderheader on my Street Bob and wanted JLK to tune my bike. I dropped it off on Friday and Billy told me he'd call his tuner guy. Saturday morning comes around and he tells me his guy is out of town, but will be back Tuesday to tune my bike. As I was about to leave the shop, I noticed that my thunderheader was touching the allen head bolts that hold my foot peg in place. This was causing a squeaking sound as the bike was running. I spoke the Jeff and he said he would take a look at it. He wheeled my bike into his shop and put it on the rack. About 20 minutes later he rolls my bike back out and tells me he fixed the problem. I've been coming here since I first owned a Harley and that was a few years ago. I keep coming back here because Jeff and his team are honest and they do a great job working on my bikes. Usually when you see 5 stars, you get suspicious...but don't be. I called Friday asking about the cost to install Progressive Fork Cartridge Kit and a 444 rear shocks. I got a quote that I liked and I arranged to bring the bike to JLK the next day (Saturday). Keep in mind that I'm only a drop-in and there's bikes there already being worked on. I expressed that the bike is my only ride and I cannot leave it through the weekday. I said that I will wait if they could get the bike done even if its outside of business hours and Jeff made sure the job was done. They went above and beyond to earn my business when they could've simply said that we can't do it and being a drop-in could just told me to come back again. Jeff was even kind enough to talk to me about future mods that I might be interested in and gave me some good tips on what to look into next. TL:DR If you think the 5 stars are fake, it is not. I'm the owner of a 2001 wide glide with of course a "tensioned chain" setup for the camshafts. With the unavoidable disintegration of the composite tensioners I chose to go with a "gear-2-gear" camshaft setup. I was guided in my choice of cams and when I started it up at the shop the day I picked it up it took one "click" of the starter and idled. Great shop with great guys! We were almost 500 miles from home when one of the bikes lost a belt. While half the group worked on Plan B and how to get it towed home, another one jumped on his phone and called every shop within 50 miles. It was a Saturday around 10:30 am and JLK Precision Motor Cycles said to bring it in ASAP and they worked on getting the belt from HD. By 6:00 pm they wheeled the bike out the door and she fired right up. Mind you, Saturday closing time is 5:00 pm! The price was on point too. I was on my way to San Francisco from Los Angeles, and my Harley Davidson FXR barely made it to San Bruno. I visited multiple shops before this one. None were able to help out a traveler. My lady and I were finally directed to Jeff and Jlk Precision Motorcycle Cycles. Although they were about to close, they still took the time to check the bike and prioritize my motorcycle. They even guided my lady and I towards San Francisco by other means while the bike stayed at the shop. I brought my 2017 Softail here for a service and install of a license plate relocation kit, sissy bar, and luggage rack. I have a 2021 HD Ultra limited. I had Sacramento Harley install a stage 2 upgrade (Torque Cam) and tune. After the upgrade and tune the bike was running awful. It was pinging so bad, running so hot and has such a lack of power, I thought it was gone to fail at anytime. I was told about Motorious Speed Shop, and Larry specifically, from a friend. I contacted Larry and he told me to bring my bike to him the very next day. I rode all the way from Sacramento and as soon as I pulled up to the shop, Larry immediately greeted me and got my bike on the Dyna. Larry started working on the Dyna Tune right away. He was able to quickly resolve the pinging, power and cooling issues that I was having. Now my bike is running perfectly. It feels like a whole new bike. Was referred by a co-worker in Ssf about jlk as I needed a new headlight and with a roadglide, I was lazy about taking off the fairing. I had a consultation with Larry and came away with new front shocks, s&s cam 510, day maker headlights, dyno, and a few minor tweaks, I have a totally different ride. Larry makes novice riders feel good about riding. He tries to match the bike to your style. For reasonable cost, my bike increased 23 hp. Get ur Harley done here boogie chillens. Great interaction with customers...none of that corporate hurry-up stuff here. These guys not only listen but make wonderful suggestions. Sol, Billy (& the mechanic in the back who's name I failed to get)...very friendly guys. None of that hostility one gets from certain MAJOR H-D dealer nearby. Communications between customers and mechanics are w/o an extra layer of people. One talks to the guys who work on the things. They do it all too....up to and including painting your sheet metal (down the street sure but JLK doesn't hesitate to send it back to painter if JLK ain't happy with the result) to dyno-ing ur scoot.
