I called this shop to get a quote on replacing the brake pads on my SUV, and the experience left me feeling like they were trying to take advantage of me. When I asked for pricing, they told me they "charge per axle," ($350) which is vague at best and misleading at worst. My mid-size SUV has two axles but four brake calipers, so depending on how they decide to interpret their own wording, the price could be completely different. A reputable shop should clearly state whether the quote is for front brakes, rear brakes, or all four wheels, not use confusing language that leaves room for surprise charges. First time I used Norco B&A and looked for a shop as my local Ford dealer disappointed me taking over 2.5 hours just for just an oil change then lost my keys for 30 minutes. But they did list my front brake pads were down to 1 mm and the slight coolant leak I was seeing was due to the EGR coolant hose; 6 liter 2004 Ford diesel. The last front brake service was 4 years/57,000 miles ago so I wanted a shop that first could properly handle working on a 1 ton F350 dually and understood my desire for premium parts to get similar mileage from new brakes. First thing I noticed was the exterior sign showing they also do diesel services and also how clean both the shop and the office area looked; quite a bit different than many shops I've seen. Roger understood my desire to pay for premium brakes parts and that quality Ford parts would be used for the EGR coolant leak work once diagnosed. He explained what is needed if it was just the coolant hose leaking but that if it turned out the EGR cooler itself was leaking, what would be entailed to replace that. All work was performed on time and with the premium brake parts and the coolant leak was resolved with just the new EGR hose kit and no need for the expensive cooler replacement. The invoice had the parts all listed with part numbers, labor charges broken out and very easy to understand what the different costs for each service was. I will for sure go back with my vehicles there for future servicing needs. read more

Today was the second time I have been here. The first time was about 3 years ago to have my back brakes done and today. Today my brakes went to metal on metal with zero warning and so I was parked in front of the shops when it opened, promptly at 8 just like they advertise, Roger greeted me and I explained my situation to him. He said he would find a way to get my car back to me by 10am and he did. My total also came back in about $15 under the estimate which really made me happy. My 10:15 I was happily on my way to work. For the ladies who are looking at going here. I never felt like they were trying to pull the wool over my eyes like some other places I have esperienced. I am familiar with cars to a certain extent and some other places I have known they were trying to take advantage of me. Here I had no worries and Roger was very upfront and honest. Roger is the most up standing owner/mechanic that I have ever dealt with. There were a couple times I took my car to him after the dealer told me of some repairs that was needed. And Roger took the time to take a look (without charging me) and found that those so called repairs were not necessary. He doesn't charge you for anything unless he informs you first. It is a good/bad thing that I have to make an appointment to take my car there.....Bad for me since I have to plan for it and good for Roger because it is busy for him and their work is good and honest. Roger was very personable and helpful. I brought my Yukon in to have my rotors and brake pads changed out. They were able to replace it with the parts I brought in. Many of the different places I called locally said they were not able to install parts brought in by customers. I was able to schedule an appointment and was in and out because Roger had 2 of his guys work on my vehicle; just so I didn't have to sit around for 2-3 hours. I was out of there in about 1.5 hrs!!! Checked this place out after reading the positive reviews. I don't know anyone that used this place, just gave it a shot based on the reviews. My car was making some bad grinding noises... which was unusual because I got my brakes changed earlier in the year. When the noises got worse, I knew something wasn't right. I drive up and they tell me they are a bit busy and tell me to bring my car tomorrow. I didn't like the fact that I had to come back but I realize with good service, I don't mind waiting a bit. If they were empty, that could be a red flag. So I bring my car and just drop it off. Later I get a call and they explain what's the matter with my car and the cost. They are to the point and don't try to upsell or sell me stuff I didn't need. I had an idea of what was wrong and thought it would cost more; the price they gave me was lower :). They are very fair. And they stand behind their work with a 1 year warranty. This place is the real deal. And be prepared to wait... cause they are good at what they do. Just like you wait in line for kick-ass amazing food, this place is worth waiting for. read more

Let me start off by saying, Roger is amazing! We literally were stranded in Pomona and were awaiting a tow truck to tow us home since we didn't want to risk our safety and drive with the brakes giving an awful scrapping sound. While we were waiting, we found Roger's shop, Norco Brakes, and decided to call him since he was highly spoken of in his reviews. He was so informative, friendly, and offered to wait at his shop for us until our tow truck arrived. Thankfully our tow truck driver was made aware that Roger would be waiting even though it would be after shop hours and took every back street he knew of to get us there quickly so we wouldn't keep Roger waiting too long. Overall, Roger has a one man shop stop and is very knowledgeable about brakes. He kept our car overnight and had it ready the next day by noon. His pricing was very affordable and we were very pleased he did not charge an overnight storage fee like other places would have. We plan on taking our truck to him to replace the brakes and refer him to our friends and family! Incredibly satisfied! This is an amazing auto repair facility, I drove in on Saturday morning at 8:30 with metal on metal brake problems. Roger said he would call me by 10 with an estimate and ended up calling me before that. He gave me the estimate over the phone - well below what I thought it would be (based on experience at tire stores), and finished the job by noon! On top of everything else, he charged me LESS than the estimate, because he got the parts for less than originally quoted. I am so satisfied that I will come to him with any automotive problem. I had my brakes done here a couple of years ago and I thought Roger did a great job, so I thought I'd have my A/C serviced here. I called to set up an appt. and was told he was extremely busy at the time, so I made the appt. for the following week, Monday @ 9:00am. The first problem came when I went to his old location. The new occupant was irritated that Roger doesn't tell his old customers over the phone that he has moved the business...he says it happens often and he has a printed handout giving Roger's new address. My bad for not noticing the new address prior to going to the old location, and his new location is only a mile away, so I managed to arrive at the exact time of my appt. Aaaand there's nobody there! Roger ghosted me! Business must be good, real good, so I'll have the work done somewhere else. If he had an emergency or some other situation that caused him to miss our appt., I could understand, but I emailed him, and got no response, so I'm giving him 5 Stars for the brake job done in the past, and Zero Stars for the No Show/No Response today, for an average of 2 Stars overall.
