Dusty everywhere. Carpet in our room is dirty and worn out in many areas. Windows in our room are filthy! Deck furniture hasn't been cleaned in a long time and the cushions are spotted with black mold. Chairs on our veranda are broken. Breakfast is pre-packaged bagels and pastries from the Piggly Wiggly. Beware of booking here. I booked through their direct website and took a screenshot of my confirmation with my reservation number. I never received a confirmation email so I called the front desk. They told me my reservation did not exist. The person who answered the phone (said his name was Ali) told me his system was down and proceeded to hang up on me. I immediately called back and received no answer. I waited and called back again, and when I confronted him for hanging up on me, he said he "didn't hear the phone". Terrible and unhelpful service. I spoke with the manager, who was also no help. She kept telling me I booked the reservation through booking.com, which I did not. I continued to reiterate that I booked directly through their website. She did not seem to understand this. She kept telling me that my reservation did not exist and blamed it on booking.com. Overall, they falsely advertised that they had rooms available on their website for the dates I chose. They took my personal information and credit card information, and never reserved my room. They claim it was a "system error". I never received any communication from them that my reservation was not finalized, despite them having my cell phone number and email. They also never responded to any of my email communications. DO NOT BOOK HERE. read more

Nordic Lodge had everything we wanted, and was a great VALUE. Responsive, friendly staff, pristine pool, multiple fire pits, large open area with picnic tables. The beds were comfortable, with crisp linens. Good coffee and free breakfast items. It's an older building, but staff keeps it very clean and comfortable. A wonderful Door County experience, and we'll stay there again. read more

There's a reason everything else in the area is booked up and this place still has rooms available. Everything was extremely run down. Carpets in the hallway were filthy. I understand that not every small hotel has the money to replace carpets- but it doesn't take much effort to clean them. We rented the one suite they had. The place was in need of a deep clean. Dishes in cupboard were filthy. Some of the furniture was broken and needed to go to the dump. There were fake disgusting flowers used to decorate all the room. The heater looked like it was missing parts and the fireplace had pieces falling off of it. We didn't use either. All around it seemed like no one cared about this place. It was about $270 a night for our room. The chalk board in the room very aggressively asked for tips. I usually tip cleaning staff, but this "don't ruin someone's life by not tipping" left a very bad taste in my mouth. Such a shame since location is good and the pool area is nice. If someone just put some effort into this place it could be a great spot. read more

My friends and I had a great experience at the Nordic Lodge. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, the breakfast is pre-packaged (which is a plus for me), the coffee is tasty, and the price is right! We picked the Nordic Lodge because of our budget. We were a bit late in booking our vacation, and by that time, other similarly priced hotels in the area (AKA super 8) had horrible reviews and we had big concerns specifically about cleanliness. I was so glad when I found the Nordic Lodge. I was even more glad after I stayed there! The Nordic Lodge is by no means a luxury hotel or anything like that. It's set up like a motel, but it is run well. The rooms are clean, and that was really the biggest thing we were asking for. The rooms were nicely sized, and the bathroom was also clean. One of the biggest assets of this place are the people who work there. I had a wonderful experience with a couple young ladies at the front desk - they really made our trip more enjoyable. They were very helpful and accommodating with anything we needed or any questions we had. The front desk area has an ice machine, a cold water dispenser, a fridge with breakfast items that is unlocked each morning, and a coffee dispenser in the mornings too. They have cherry coffee which sounds weird but was really good with some sugar and cream. Door County signature! The breakfast items are packaged which I like better than a hotel trying to cook eggs. They have Jimmy dean breakfast sandwiches, muffins, yogurt, juice, and fruit. They have a large outdoor space with grass that has several chairs and tables. We brought our own fire pit to have bonfires and s'mores at night so this was a perfect area to set it up. I believe they also had their own fire pits that you could use if you did not bring your own. This hotel has a pool and a hot tub, too. The swimming area was clean. It's not huge or anything, but for the size of the hotel, it's great. There is no outdoor pool, but there is an outdoor lounging area on the deck that has lounge chairs that lay back for potential sunbathing. The location of The Nordic Lodge is great in Sister Bay and near many other areas of Door County so you'll be able to get wherever you want to go easily. In case it's still not clear, I definitely recommend this place! read more

We nearly ended up using someone's dirty, uncleaned room and bedding! Horrible experience with no contact from management!!!! Upon our arrival on Saturday, a very friendly girl at the reception desk greeted us, and our check-in was pleasant, quick, and easy. Our room was on the second floor. As we entered the room, I was unpleasantly surprised by how sloppily the bed was made; the cover was just thrown on, not tucked in. As I walked to the bathroom, I noticed a dirty towel hanging on the door and another one on the floor. The garbage bin was full of trash, and an opened soap bar was left inside the shower. Half-emptied shampoo bottles were also left in the shower. The sink in front of the bathroom also looked dirty, and the garbage bin under the sink was full as well. Besides not having hot water over two days (I needed to insist being moved to a different room) the front counter is not manned during regular business hours - when it was open, the office area looked trashy, dirty, and unwelcoming with empty boxes and brooms. Used towels were not replaced within 24 hours (system of placing basket outside of door, then replaced with fresh towels supposedly daily), and were replaced only after reiterating the need for fresh towels. Dog poop on carpet in hallway was left there over two days. Nordic Lodge won't see us again. read more

The ceiling tiles we being replaced while we were there. No signs put up warn about this. the doors and knobs we filthy and never cleaned. They almost vacuumed the hallways. This happened right at 8am during the breakfast rush. The room was damp and smelled it. Housekeeping only cleaned the room if we saw them and specifically asked for it. Worst though, we asked at the front desk if we could extend our stay. The young man found a room, in the computer, booked it into the computer, and then charged my credit card. The next day someone called us and told us "Sorry baby, there is no room." I asked what happened because there clearly had been a room, and she said again, "I'm sorry baby, there is no room." and hung up on me. They clearly gave that room to someone else and just lied to me. There is also and unlocked door, until 10 pm every day. Not the front door. I emailed twice about an issue before arriving and got no response. I called at least a dozen times before arriving and no one answered the phone. They are clearly getting by because they are in Door County and don't give a damn about their guest! read more

Nice quiet place to stay in a good location. Rooms and decor are pretty dated but considering I spend very little time in the room, I could care less. The outdoor deck area and various groupings of chairs are nice to have a cup of coffee in the morning or relax in the evening. Pool is clean and well-kept. read more

This is my go to hotel in Door Co. Been going their for years. Recently started taking my wife there for our 10 yr anniversary, it was her first time in Door Co. At first she was a bit Leary. But now she loves it too. It's an older hotel be very well maintained. Rooms are nice. Staff is always friendly. The indoor pool and hot tub are great in all four seasons. The hotel offers the little things that make all the difference. Door Co coffee in the lobby all day. Water, cookies, popcorn, apples you name it. And it's free. Breakfast is fine for a continental breakfast. This is a perfect base camp for Door Co. close to everything. I will be back again soon. read more

We recently booked Nordic Lodge via booking.com. Upon arriving at Nordic Lodge we were informed they could not find our reservation. Dreya went above and beyond to get us a room for that night and then made a reservation at their sister hotel for the following night. Worse experience with a hotel ever. My friend and I drove up to Nordic Lodge from Chicago for a weekend trip. I booked our 2-night hotel stay on April 7th through Booking.com knowing that Door County tends to book up quickly in the summer months. Unfortunately, upon our arrival to the Nordic Lodge, we were advised that no such booking could be found in accordance to their database system, however after reviewing Booking.com's website, the front desk attendance, Sam was able to locate our reservation. We were then advised that the hotel was unable to accommodate our reservation, as no rooms were available. Sam, who displayed no element of sincere empathy whatsoever, indicated that we should have called the hotel in advance to confirm our reservation. She then contacted the establishment's manager, Pattie via phone during which time, we were advised that no surrounding or nearby hotels had vacancies, save one potential facility located in Brussels. Sam offered no other suggestions or means of assistance other than to pass the blame onto Booking.com and bid us a good day. I then proceeded to contact Booking.com to explain the situation and see if anything was resolvable. After pulling up our reservation information through their system, we were advised by representative, Brent that the hotel "was lying" and that he was looking at a confirmation email from the hotel dated April 8th, 2016, confirming our reservation. Brent then explained that he would immediately contact the front desk to clarify the situation and see what could be done. Shortly thereafter, I received a call from Brent who indicated that the hotel claimed to have no vacancies and per Booking.com's policies, was mandated to either acquiesce our original reservation or find us an alternative place to stay within 30 minutes. Later that evening, we received an update phone call from Brent informing us that the hotel could not accommodate our original reservation or establish a new reservation for us elsewhere. Per Booking.com's policies, they were now mandated to find us an alternative place to stay. Unfortunately after scouring around for hours, Brent contacted us later that evening to advise that the only place available was situated in Pulaski, WI approximately 1.5 hours away. Having full knowledge of the inconvenience already suffered from gas, travel time and our future plans situated around the location of the original hotel stay, we declined the offer. Not only did we receive no remorse or efforts on behalf of the hotel, but we also received no follow-up emails or phone calls from the hotel checking in with their progress while Booking.com consistently updated us with their efforts. At this point in our 'vacation,' we found ourselves completely helpless and hopeless as the result of your facility's lack of diligence. We had driven 4 hours seeking relaxation and rejuvenation and found ourselves nervous wrecks over finding a place to sleep. While waiting for a remedy to this situation, we attended a pre-planned, local event that we were unable to enjoy as a result of our continued concern over the situation and the numerous calls made and taken throughout the evening with Booking.com and multiple facilities we hoped to book a reservation with. We had already pre-booked tickets and made plans for several events the following evening which we would inevitably not attend as a result of your facility's error. Having designated all our future plans over Nordic Lodge's location, it now made no sense for us to stay and continue our trip as that would mean consistently long drives and irritation. Our trip had been ruined. And to add injury to insult, we now found ourselves exhausted, defeated and driving 4 hours back home in the late hours of the night. The irony of this entire situation is that the only individuals punished as a result, were us. There have been absolutely no repercussions for their establishment, which has displayed no sense of accountability whatsoever. We were given a brief, remorseless farewell, which has made for one of the most disheartening, travel experiences to date. So my advice? If you're planning your trip to Door County, skip this place. read more

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed everything about it !! The room had a private balcony to step outside for some fresh air, which was very nice The beds and linen were very comfortable as well. My husband and I recently stayed the weekend at this hotel and had a very pleasant experience. It is a bit outside of town and back from the main road which we liked as it was quiet and peaceful. The rooms each had their own private deck with seating area, mini fridge, hair dryer, free wifi, and complimentary bottled water. A continental breakfast was included with the room and was served in the lobby area. Breakfast consisted of pastries, cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, hardboiled eggs, and yogurt. Coffee was always plentiful throughout the day and microwave popcorn was also offered for guests. There was an indoor pool but we didn't use it. Excellent quality and value for the price we paid. If ever back in Door County, we would definitely stay here again. read more

Our favorite Door County hotel. It's off the road, quite, clean and homey. It's very clean and welcoming. This is a vacationers type of hotel. Don't expect some of the things you find in a big city hotel but rather a quiet relaxing place to stay while you are here in the county. We've stayed here since the mid 1980's and have become friends with some of the owners. The smell of Door County Cherry Coffee greets you when you arrive coming from years of brewing for guests when they awaken. The office is a meeting area for guests who have met over the years, since returnees abound. This is one of the bast places in Door County to stay. read more
