I came here with a friend as he was looking for a suit. The staff: They seem a little clueless on some of the items in their department. Some staff members did not know where certain items were located. They are friendly and try to help but they need a little more product knowledge. The pricing: It is a bit pricey here and they do not have a wide selection of items here. Overall: This store is pricey with their items so you should be prepared for that. I've shopped at this location countless times and my shopping experiences have been good. The store is very clean, staff are obviously trained to greet customers and offer assistance - and best off all, returns are generally hassle free and Nordstrom is one of the few retailers that still has a generous return policy. I shopped online often and do returns in person, so this is very helpful. The online selection is much better only because there's limited square footage in the mall versus merchandise pulled from warehouses and other stores. Also, while I've seen the quality of clothing decline at many retailers, I can still find nice long lasting pieces at Nordstrom (albeit expensive). Oh, I used to get my makeup done at the MAC counter here pre-COVID but they stopped offering the service for safety reasons. read more

I love the Good Quality Clothes, and High class brands you can't buy from others stores In the area, it's luxury at its best. I bought Chanel sunglasses a while back from there with the money my mother gave me for my birthday plus my saved up cash! It was worth it! The workers here are very kind. They are very helpful too! It's expensive, but every once in a while a little splurging won't hurt! They have good café too. The woman with the purple hair is nice and the waiters are too! This location is not very busy, but is efficient. I walked in to pick up an online order and received it within 15 seconds. The signage around the store is very clear and makes it easy to know where everything is. Knocking off a star because I had a free gift with purchase (this gift happened to be valued at around $150 of beauty/health items) that was not with my order...I asked where it was and was told it was at another counter. I go to the other counter and they tell me the gift will be shipped separately to the store in 1-2 days. I find out from Nordstrom online that the gift should have come with the order and it's on the store to make sure it is there. I went to return some items and the associate did not know what she was doing. She wound up ripping me off $89. The credit for my items was never posted. I now have to call the manager of the store down to the store and fight for my money. Two days I've been on the phone with their customer service department. No one can give me a straight answer. Everybody gave me a different answer at 2 o'clock in the morning. I finally get someone on the phone and she tells me oh sorry we can't take care of this. It has to be taken care of at the store level so I've been wasting my time and I energy on the phone with these people for two days only to find out that I have to go down to the store and fight for my money that I have been ripped off. read more

I had originally had ordered online two dresses for a wedding, but neither of them ended up fitting. I went to this location and ended up returning with no problem. I went in to look for a new dress, and the girls were extremely helpful and picked out this beautiful black dress for me to wear. They were all so wonderful, and I now will come into the store to purchase a dress for my next occasion. I have been coming to this store for over 20 years (anyone remember the pianist who used to play on the second floor...because I do!) so I have a good sense of what this store has to offer. Like any other Nordstrom, this store offers luxury high end items. Their items include footwear, apparel, bedding, and makeup. This store has two floors and is fairly large but it can get crowded during he holiday season...especially in the shoe department. This isn't to say that the staff is not attentive...no, quite the opposite. I have always received exceptional service when shopping here. The staff are very attentive and even help me decide if I'm having difficulty making a purchase. They really take their time to help you get what you need...almost like having a personal shopper with you! This store also had some renovations done over the years and you know what that means...clean bathrooms! I'm not kidding, these bathrooms are THE ONES to use if you're in the mall. While I can't speak on the men's restroom, the woman's is very spacious and includes a small lounge and private nursing room. I have also eaten at their cafe once but that was about 4 years ago. I came in to buy a Chanel fragrance and the matching body oil and just so happened to need to redeem some items to the Back 2 Mac program ( where for every 6 empty mac containers you bring you get a free lipstick. I came in to redeem 12 ) the experience at the mac counter was great, where I was helped by Thaddeus, who was amazing with me. He was patient in helping me find 2 lipsticks that I liked even though they were essentially free and he was not getting commission, which I greatly appreciate. The problem begins with an associate named Jean at the fragrance counter. I would usually be helped by Sybil, who happened to not be there due to how early I came in. I came in to purchase my go to fragrance, and I asked to smell the intense version of it. She then proceeds to tell me she does not even know if the tester is there because the shoppers " keep stealing the Chanel tester bottles ". Please not that Jean is the only person who has all of them locked inside of the clear display. The Chanel beauty counter has ALL the fragrances out. And none have been stolen. I smell the fragrance and am unsure about it. Because I had no clue how it would wear on my skin. So I asked her for a sample of it. She then scrunched up her nose and immediately tells me that they no longer give out samples. That the manufacturer is " on their necks " about it. Never in the many years I have been shopping for fragrances at department stores have I been told that they were no longer allowed to make a small sample for a client to take home. Specially after they had just spend 230 dollars on a fragrance on the spot. Afterwards I chatted with the Nordstrom online help chat asking them if it was true that they no longer gave out samples to paying customers. And I was told that it was not true, that Nordstrom employees should give out the sample you request, even if you do not play on buying anything at that particular moment. If you must go to the fragrance counter at this Nordstrom, I suggest you go during a time when Sybil is there. She is always kind and helpful and encourages you to smell and try something new. Unlike Jean who acts like a 2 day sample vile is coming out of her paycheck. read more

I previously purchased 2 bras with a fifferebt associate and they unfortunately both fit different (same size bra and make). One was more comfortable and the other wayy to tight. So I went in to exchange the one that was too tight. I have never had a bad experience in Nordstrom EVER until today. The woman at the register was right away seemingly annoyed. I thought it was due to the unfortunate purchase a different associate gave me. She told me I was wearing the wrong size just by looking me. I trusted her and went in to be fitted again. She gave me my correct size and then she was straight up combative with me. Brought me bras to try but was Telling me that if I want a good bra, I need to wear underwire because I have a large cup size. Telling me her credentials as a bra specialist. I explained that I usually dont wear that and I dont feel comfortable. That isn't what I'm here for. She said " If you dont want your breasts to be down to your stomach by the time your 50, you need underwire" I dont know what her actual issue was but I felt like she was treating me badly. She was Annoyed by my requests, rude, then boasting about her 15 plus years as a bra fitting specialist and cancer survivor bra specialist. She mentioned Cancer so many times to me that it was actually uncomfortable. Im shopping for a bra post child bearing weightloss. She treated me like I was young and knew nothing. (Which shouldn't happen even if i was younger) But, What I know is myself. Im a 38 year old woman. I want wireless. And I wanted her help with a WIRELESS bra. I reluctantly continued to shop while practically helping myself. I pulled the bra I wanted.. a wireless substitute in my size that she gave me. I still PURCHASED bras. But I cant let this attitude go. It was something I have never experienced before. What made me realize that she just was rude to me.. another customer came in and her whole tone of voice changed. She wasn't yell talking anymore or boasting about her job title and experience anymore. I would have never purchased from her if I didn't need to exchange my bra. She was horrific. I know she knows what she is doing, I know her truth is that underwire is better. But as the customer my needs were being expressed and met with irritation and cockiness. My receipt says her name is Kerianne. My only analogy I can think of here is that A good doctor has bedside manner. And You Kerianne do not possess this quality. read more

Nordstrom has been a part of our family for over 30 years. It's the place I can always go to and know I'll be treated with dignity, have great options for clothing, and an overall pleasant shopping experience. Today was the first day I left the store feeling humiliated and sad because of how I was treated by a sales associate. The pandemic has impacted retail and many other industries with staffing shortages so I expected service to be different coming in. I arrived in Women's Intimates to do my annual bra fitting and purchases. Having a large bust means your fitting and experience with a sales associate are key to having a great fit and feeling confident. The sales associate who was there was very annoyed and kept complaining about being the only sales associate available, not being able to run to the bathroom for an hour, and lamenting that she was off at 4pm. I was in line at 3:40pm and asked about a fitting. She kept saying she likely couldn't fit me and there wasn't anyone that could help me. I asked if there was another associate in the store that could come to assist with checking out other shoppers while she did my fitting. She attempts to call and repeatedly says she needs to leave. Not finding an associate, she finishes with another customer then tells me to go in the fitting room to do it real quick with the 6 minutes she had left before she clocked out. During the fitting she seemed frustrated, rushed through the fitting and then rattled off two sizes that she couldn't be sure were mine because I had such a large cup size and small band size. It hurt so badly to be treated that way and to be rushed through the fitting. When your bra doesn't fit, nothing looks good so this was important and because of the pandemic, I waited about 2 years to come into the store. I ended up taking the sizes down and will purchase bras in that size elsewhere online. I couldn't bring myself to order in store after being treated like that and I think it will be a while before I go back to make another purchase in store or online. This pandemic has been hard for all of us and I'm a firm believer in extending grace whenever I can give it. But no customer deserves to be treated the way I was today and to leave feeling like I bothered the person who is paid to assist me. Please do your best in staffing the store and training your associates to be kind and professional, it is the difference in a customer leaving with purchases made commissions earned OR a long time customer no longer wanting to patronize your store. read more

I called the Nordstrom's in Menlo specifically because of a designer sweater that I was trying to purchase online. I was having some challenges instead of just giving me some mediocre advice. She actually stayed on the phone with me for an extensive long time helping me to navigate the website she asked a few questions regarding the style number for the item that I wanted and encouraged me to finish up my account which I did with her coaching. The reason why I'm taking the time to do this review is because I really did find her outstanding in many areas Haliey took the time to understand my frustration that I was having ordering a designer sweater which was quickly selling out. Amazing customer service and friendly / helpful staff! Nordstrom is a great department store as a chain, with their unbeatable return policy, and online shopping management. This Nordstrom, in particular, has always been friendly and helpful with shopping and follow-up type of needs. For example, their watches department will tend to watch issues even if you did not buy the watch from Nordstrom! As another positive note, the store is always clean and organized, and never chaotic. The mystery of the wrapped packages.... I'm attempting to get my shopping done early and if you place an online order and do store pickup you have the ability to get your item gift wrapped. Since early November I've placed six orders. Five of the six were gift wrapped---in total three pickup trips (a more than 45 minute drive round trip each time). When you place your order online, you have the option of selecting a gift wrap option & creating a personalized gift tag. Yesterday I arrived to pickup a few orders and there are multiple bags tied together. One item is a shipping plastic bag, one item is gift wrapped and the remaining item is randomly tossed into a box. When I placed the order, I ask to have it gift wrapped & tagged. There's some fussing because it's near closing time and they just want me to leave. There's some discussion about which associate picked the order (really who cares) and who will wrap my item. After some debate, one associate grabs it in a huff and says I'll do it and walks to the back room. When I get home I take it out of the bag and notice there's no tag. The second box---no tag. The other earlier orders which are sitting in shopping bags...gift wrapped but no tags except one of them. All of these gift wrapped packages and only ONE with a tag. Today, I reach out to the Nordstrom customer service team while on lunch and do the chat option and after speaking with the rep, I am told she can't do anything for me that I need to call the store myself. I ask her to notify them directly as she has ALL of my order #s and contact details and she tells me she can't do anything (so much for the much lauded amazing Nordy customer service) At this point I'm debating either making this some strange new family custom of mystery gifts or just taking the entire lot of items and returning every single thing and shopping elsewhere. read more

My daughter went in to Nordstrom yesterday. She was in the perfume department looking at perfumes after purchasing items in the jewelry department. An associate, petite in stature, dark curly hair, approached her and started to peer into her bag and asking her if she had any samples. My daughter responded, "No, you did not give me any samples." To this, the associate replied by getting very close in her face and kept looking in her bag and opening it up to see what was in there. My daughter was extremely uncomfortable by this due to the woman being so close in her face during a pandemic. The perfume associate did not have any right to go into my daughters bag, embarrassing her in front of other shoppers, or being as close to her as she was, insinuating that she was stealing, even after my daughter told her she was not given any samples. I spoke with the store manager, Nas, on 12/21/2020 and she took down the information and advised me that the store manager, Tina, would call me today, 12/21/2020. It is now 6pm on 12/22/2020, and I have been informed that Tina has left for the day. I have yet to hear back in regard to this matter. I am extremely disappointed in Nordstrom. First of all, I LOVE Nordstroms, and the company itself is 5 stars in my book. The only reason I give this location 4 stars is that I am a big online shopper (usually at work! :-) and when I try to pick up in store, it often feels like other nearby stores have my item in stock and not this store. I'm not sure if they stock less inventory or just sell more. Other that that, I have no complaints. I have always experienced stellar service at this location, especially when buying (or browsing) with the women's wear section upstairs (with Barbara and Rubeena). There was never pressure to purchase an item, if it was not the right item. I'm taking away one star because the selection of brands/items just isn't what it used to be. Over the years, brands like St. John were taken away from the store. The Nordstrom brand items (like Caslon, Halogen) had experienced a quality decline over the years; I bought cashmere sweaters from 9-10 years ago from the Caslon brand that were of much better quality than higher priced cashmere being sold under the brand now (so, even if I paid a higher price, there is no better quality to be had). Overall, Nordstrom stores provide a very good customer shopping experience. I even visited the Flagship in Seattle last year (which did have the range of brands I liked), and service has been consistent from store to store to store (which is something I cannot say about another brick-mortar store of similar standing). read more

The staff is helpful and friendly. They're always there to assist you and ask your opinion on shoes so that they may tell other customers. Another favorite here are the makeup counters. I love shopping for makeup because I can never have enough. It's always a new adventure with makeup here because I don't know what I will end up buying. When asked if we needed help with something, we told her about the links and her attitude changed immediately. I'm assuming because she realized she wasn't making any sales. After she started taking them off she stood up, picked up the phone and stayed on it for 15 minutes with management because she couldn't figure out how to do her job. She had another woman do it for her and then the other woman lashed out at her and said "I'm helping your customers, meanwhile you're always talking shit about me" Terrible experience. Hands down my favorite place to shop! I've been a loyal fan of this Nordstrom location for over 6 years now. Over this time, I've had the pleasure of working with 3 different personal shoppers who were all amazing! Across the board, customer service is solid. Clearly not everyone will have the same experience (and let's face it, there have been times when I've wanted to punch the girl working behind the counter), but once you find someone you trust who has a good eye for fashion and knows your personal style, you stick with them! Spending the most money in shoes and bags, my shoppers have all come from those departments. I've currently been working with a salesperson in womans shoes called Tamara and she is AWESOME. She always knows when sales are coming up and calls me beforehand to schedule appointments. I have small feet - size 4.5 and she always finds me something adorable! Also, you can go to other departments with your shopper - just b/c Tamara is in shoes doesn't mean she can't help me with clothes and other accessories as well. I just had an appointment with her the other day for the anniversary sale presale and am still super happy. I live in Manhattan now and still travel to Jersey to see her. I was extremely disappointed with Nordstrom. Despite they supposed reputation for great customer service, they botched up a delivery on a fairly expensive and very heavy item. I contacted them and they did absolutely nothing to attempt to make this situation right for me. Sure I know mistakes happen, but when I contacted them with my displeasure and distress, they did absolutely nothing aside from saying they were sorry. My time and money both are too valuable to be treated in this manner 6 months an email and several phone calls later. Still no response! Would change this to one star if possible. read more
