I definitely like this location better than the downtown one. Although it has parking, the elevator takes forever. They have a pretty good selection in mens clothing but sometimes it's a hassle to sift through all the clothes. Reason why I give it 3 stars is bc sometimes I find lower prices at the outlet (substantially lower). They also don't seem to update their inventory as frequently as I would like. read more

No matter which Rack I've been in, whether it's on the North Shore or downtown, I'm so unimpressed and usually having a panic attack about how unkempt and chaotic it is inside. Seriously so messy. I've been to this location on multiple occasions since it opened. It is always clean, orderly, and a pleasant shopping experience. It turns out their customer service is phenomenal, too! Earlier this winter I bought a cute knit hat at a different Rack location. It quickly became my favorite hat and I was really disappointed when I left in on a bus. After trying 3 other Rack locations with no success finding a replacement (by this time winter hats were getting cleared out for Spring), I decided to start calling stores instead. This was the first location I called and I was lucky to speak to Pearl. She personally went to look for the hat and came up empty. However, she searched their inventory system and it showed they had 2 in stock - at this location! Pearl promised me she would try to track them down and suggested I call back later to see if she had found it. When I called, she told me she found it and would leave it on hold at the store under my name. I was thrilled! I didn't get to meet Pearl to thank her in person when I went to pick up the hat. However, the associate that brought the hat out to me was extremely helpful, too. This was a wonderful experience and I appreciate the patience and friendliness of Pearl and the employees at this location. It's a great place to shop! Thank you! Just stopped by the new Rack in search of an outfit for a networking event later that evening. I found a great outfit and experienced prompt and helpful service while trying on clothes. I really enjoy this location. Pretty organized. Large selection of stuff. I got a lovely Kate Spade purse here along with a wallet and Michael Kors jacket. All items were over 50% off! Apparently the Lincoln Park store doesn't want anyone-over-size-14's money. What ever deals you find here are not worth the terrible customer service you will have to endure. While regular Nordstrom has phenom service, Nordstrom Rack is literally the worst. TJMaxx, Marshalls, Burlington are all better off-price retailers that actually care about their customers' business. I ordered a bar cart from Nordstromrack.com. It arrived, I dragged it up my walk up apartment, opened the box to discover that 1) the color did not match the photo/description and 2) it was dented in two areas. The color being off I could live with tbh, but I can't live with noticeable dents. It clearly stated in the description that it could be returned to any Nordstrom Rack store. I contacted customer service immediately and was told I would get a full refund including shipping and could return it to any Nordstrom Rack store. I don't have a car. I had to ask around for a ride, hauled the bar cart all the way to this Nordstrom Rack store and was finally told: "You can't return this at the store." If I can't return it, why does it clearly state on the website that I can? Why did customer service tell me to return it here? The reason I contacted customer service in the first place was to ensure I don't waste time dragging a piece of furniture all the way to the store just to be told I can't. I was lied to and it wasted a lot of my time! I've had better customer service at United Airlines, WalMart, and even Sport Authority...and that says a lot! read more

This is the Best Rack ever!!! Not only is it fully stocked with great merchandise that I can easily find.. They have amazing friendly customer service One employee in particular at customer service (Torie) Was very Honest with helping me pick out clothes as I held up the line undecided.. This Rack is very spacious, and the displays are appealing and easy to navigate; but the store seemed stocked more like a mid-price department store than an outlet-- lots of mid-range brands with decent discounts, but little in the way of designer steals to entice the avid shopper. The clearance sections were small, and unlike the State and Chicago Ave Racks, they don't have a designated designer/ designer clearance section for women's clothes. (They told me to go to the Chicago Ave. Rack for some specific brands, eg. St. John) The shoe section itself is large, but the shoe clearance sections are very small, and the designer selection was very disappointing. I noticed that they had a particularly large selection of 12+ women's shoes, and a designated plus-size clothing section. They also had a pretty huge kids section, which is not something I have seen at other Racks! Lots of very visible security guards-- perhaps necessary, but still a bit disconcerting to be greeted by people in uniform. They have free 90 minute indoor parking. read more

One star is for the friendly manager that helped me at the end, other than that, her team associates weren't that pleasant. I went to return a few items and I was being treated like I did something wrong. I'm a loyal Nordstrom and Rack consumer and I have a Nordstrom credit card. The woman helping me was ignoring my advise for finding the item on the computer. Then she called a manager and was whispering which made me feel very uncomfortable. Once the first manage came over she wasn't much better and the original sales person who was then just staring at me while finishing up the transaction. I asked her if everything was ok and she gave me even more attitude. I did not deserve to be treated that way and didn't appreciate their behavior. Nordstrom is known for their customer service. The sales associates really need training on how to speak and treat the customer. read more

First of all I have to say this is the nicest looking Rack in Chicago with the nicest staff around!! I went in with my wife to browse and ended up coming out with multiple bags of jeans shirts and shoes thanks to Mike in the men's department.I was greeted by all the employees but he was the first to volunteer his time on what appeared to be a very busy Saturday afternoon. After getting everything my wife and I decided to buy, we had to dodge a few friendly employees that wanted to check us out so we could go back to Mike and thank him for his help and insight on what to buy. I will definitely be coming back to shop some more here and highly recommend this gentleman to anyone shopping in men's. Finally a great place to shop with friendly help. read more

Visited the store yesterday night and they had 3X the points for Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack purchases. It was my first time visiting and the store is clean and organized, Plenty of things to choose from, I didn't find what I was looking for but I purchased anyway. Was not offered any help but I didn't need any anyway since I was mostly just looking around. Once I was ready to check out the cashier was friendly, and new since she failed to ask me if i needed a bag or not, just gave me my things and also forgot to take off the security piece, I found this out when I was walking out and the alarm turned on, good thing I kept the receipt intact since the security guard by the door asked me for it, I showed it to him and he was able to take off the security tag instead of me walking to the register again. It was not crowded and I would come back to buy more stuff since they do offer lower prices than Nordstrom, the only downside that it is a hit or miss since what they have is what you can buy. read more

Come here to get your discounted items that they couldn't sell at the regular Nordstrom store. This place is huge, with two floors, and has a lot to choose from. From suits, to shoes, to bathroom amenities. It can get busy here, but the value is definitely worth the trip. read more

Went to find a new grey hoodie. Found one in the everything 25% off rack in five minutes. Waited in line for 20 minutes even though there were only 2 people ahead of me and two cashiers. When I got my turn they said sorry we don't accept cash upstairs only downstairs so I had to go down to first floor. A CSR led me down then at check out I find my item isn't on sale after all, only "specially marked red tag items so I paid full retail. I asked them why there's no sign above the upstairs registers saying they don't take cash, that the sign could have saved me twenty minutes. Of course they had no idea. I just hope the hoodie lasts twice as long as my last one since it cost more than twice as much. I guess you can't expect good customer service at a discount retailer, but then their prices should not be as high as retailers that offer good customer service. I ended up paying for something I didn't get. read more

New, clean and free parking. That's about as far as it goes. My first experience here was meh. There's one elevator for the parking garage and it's slow as heck. Not as much selection wise compared to the Nordstrom Rack downtown or the one in Oakbrook. Sizes were all in the wrong spot, making it frustrating to shop...unless you have all the time in world. I bought $600 worth of items on Thursday, many on clearance and when I came back to return them and then repurchase them the next day with the extra 25% discount that came in to play 12 hours later I was refused. I was told they "don't do price adjustments". I had a receipt and was told flat out no. When I asked if I could return them and simply wait for them to go back on the rack I was told (with a smirk) that it could take hours. Thanks for that. read more

Had damaged jeans (never worn) that I was trying to exchange but they didn't have my size so I asked if I could get them fixed instead. The cashiers told me I would either have to get a Nordstrom card or pay for the alterations. Thankfully they called the manager who took them to the tailor and had them fixed for me within minutes. While I was waiting, another woman had an issue that the cashiers were not able to help with either but the manager took care of her without problem. The cashiers may not know or be willing/able to help but the manager was absolutely great. read more

This place is not able to accommodate disabled customers. When I came to the store the one elevator that services the store was broken. It had apparently been out of service all day. The employees initially told me the only way for my disabled spouse to get upstairs would be on the escalator. Since all of the clothing we wanted to see was on the second floor and my wife was unable to see any of the items we were looking to buy, mY kids had to bring the clothing up and down the escalator for her to view. After about 30 minutes of this inefficient exercise, I asked if there was a stairwell we could take my wife up to the second floor. After some time a manager determined they could unlock a stairwell so we could bring her up. It was not a pleasant experience and I found the staff to be unprofessional and unhelpful. Certainly not the service you expect from Nordstroms. read more

When Nordstrom Rack open in this location I was thrilled that l would not have to travel to up north, to Oak brook or having to take a hike to the loop. Yet this is the second time I have encounter poor customer service. Andrea the so called "customer relations" manager was not only rude, overbearing but ignorant and unreasonable . l wanted to make a return for a brand new skirt I have never worn with only the tags on. I wanted to make an exchange for an item of higher value, I even told her I recognized her from her less than stellar attitude when she was unable to override a mis marked item so I could have purchased it. I have been a customer of Nordstrom longer than this lady has been employed here and l never ever ever in 23 years have ONCE encounter a crappy attitude such as this today. Nordstrom Management; This woman is NOT what you represent. How disappointed I am to have to write this review. I will only come back to return about 500 dollars worth of purchases I did in the lapse of a week. I will never returned until this person has been dismiss. I am sure dunking doughnuts in the loop is looking for people like her. Do yourself a favor and hire people that are in the hospitality industry.
