If you're willing to search, there is almost definitely a deal to be found, especially at this store with 2 floors and excellent service will assist you with any questions. Nothing like being followed around the store by four white woman and when I brought it to the cashiers attention she said maybe it was just a coincidence. Then I told the security guard and the manager of the store followed me out by the door and when I told her of my experience she further invalidated me. Great selection of product in TJ Maxx, sometimes hard to find what you want but if you search enough you find a hidden gem. This is a great store to visit for selection and cleanliness. The girls at the front door are very selective in who they great and mostly are talking to each other as you enter. I have found a lot of great deals here for myself and family. I was in town visiting family in Geist, My daughter decided to go to HomeGoods in Noblesville In, Joe came up to the two of us in furniture and asked did we need help 4 times. No but thank you.. We then went and picked out several vases and decor for her and her family new built home Joe followed us throughout the store. I said this is not a coincident to him, Why are you following us, Joe gave me a rude look and continued to follow us,, Racially Profiling my daughter and myself, The only two African American people in the store.. This store can be hit or miss, as are all TJ Maxx stores. After having little success at other local locations, I was happy to find that this store had a decent amount of merchandise. The purse area was lacking, as was the shoe area. I found a decent amount in the clearance area as well as the regular clothing for men, women, and juniors. This is another typical TJ Maxx, which doesn't have much to impress me. However, it was able to find k-cups for the Keurig and they were well-stocked with many varieties. In addition, they also had pretty massive selections of food items. I found the sesame salad dressing for $2.99. Unfortunately, women's ready-to-wear department is always a hit or miss. I've been struggling to find some quality merchandize for work at any TJ Maxx. Every once awhile I find some stylish pieces, but often times clothes were just picked over by human traffic. The location of this TJ Maxx is conveniently located by the Bed, Bath and Beyond and Wal-Mart Express. There's also a plenty of shops since Broadway, Diversey, and Clark run into each other. With that being said, CTA bus 76 (Diversey), 22 (Clark), and 36 (Broadway) will take you there. It's also within 10-minute walking distance from CTA Diversey Brown, Purple line station. read more

I am so glad T J Maxx is just couple blocks away for the last minute new shirt or clothing you may need. Upon entering the store, you will notice the store is very well layed out. To the left, is more of the limited household items are such as furniture, cookware, bathroom items and bedrooms items. It is definitely a hit or miss if you are looking for a certain item. To the right of the entrance, you will notice the jewelry and clothing. I can't speak out the jewelry or women's wear - so I won't. However, regarding men's wear, the selections are pretty decent. The prices are very reasonable. Always plan to leave with more items that you originally went in there for. Quality of clothing various, however, I've always been happy with my purchases. Granted, there are times the store is a little unkempt but nothing really to complain about. Clean, friendly, and welcoming. Once you get up the escalator, you're greeted by the sweetest woman. The cashiers are fast and professional. The store is clean. And, somehow, these are the best prices I've seen. ($17 Ralph Lauren shirts!) I even had to make a return and found it to be smooth and easy. There's parking nearby and Banana Republic factory outlet across the street. It's also across from a Landmark movie theater that has axe throwing in the same building. TJ MAXX! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! I've been a fan of this TJ Maxx since it was a little farther down the road from where I live, over on Broadway and Diversey. Recently when I went inside that original location and saw that it was half-empty, I got extremely worried that there wouldn't be a TJ's so close to my home. Fortunately they were just getting ready to move into this new, glorious location over at Diversey and Clark! It looks absolutely gorgeous in here, by the way, and the organization is much, much better. The staff is cheerful, there's a guard at the door (which confuses me, because, y'all, the prices here are so low. Come on. Stop stealing things!). There's not much more for me to say except that there's nowhere else you can get glorious gift bags for $1.99. I'm coming back here forever and ever and don't ever almost leave me again! read more

When they first opened and weren't fully stocked I was skeptical, but glad I came back because they are always stocked with great designers, an extensive jewelry selection, and a seriously outstanding cosmetics selection. Like, Anastasia and Too Faced palettes for $20 and nice hair products for $4 or less. The focus of this TJ Maxx is definitely on quality goods and a clean, organized store. Horrible customer service. They tried saying that because I used $10 gift certificate on a $50 dollar purchase that my $20 return had to be store credit. I've been shopping at TJMaxx and Narshalls for years. I have used gift certificates so many times and I have never had this issue. Your workers need to be trained better and learn to deal With customers better. I will not be returning to this shitty location. Not to mention the new layout sucks ass! read more

As retail has become more fragmented, I look to different stores for different things. TJMaxx is my go to for a couple of categories. I love their discounts on high end shaving creams and moisturizers; the stock varies so I check every time I go to find the best deals on brands like Zirh and Strivectin. I love their selection of luggage as well. I've bought Tumi and Mandarina Duck luggage here at crazy low prices. I also like their underwear, winterwear and athleticwear discounts. Mostly, however, I like the new housewares section in the back right of the store where you can find pillows, dishes, picture frames, dog beds, and decorative items including lamps. I've found cute gifts for friend and great things to perk up my house. read more

LOVE this place! I started going here right when I moved to Chicago as it was located in the same building as my gym, just up the escalator a couple floors. I was so devastated when I found out they were moving but then subsequently relieved when I found out it was just going across the street! TJ Maxx is now this huge store across from Stan's Donuts and it is sooo much nicer! I am always so astounded with how low their prices are and how nice their clothing is! A few things I LOVE going to TJ Maxx for- ATHLETIC WEAR: Sports bras, LEGGINGS!!!, athletic tops, cute water bottles, and I must repeat-- LEGGINGS! If you have time to peruse their athletic wear aisle, you will find so many comfortable, squat-test approved, unique, cute leggings. I honestly almost exclusively get mine from here or Lulu's now, they're that good if you have time to find the right pair. OTHER CLOTHES- Really cute for rompers/jumpsuits/fun pants OTHER- Candles (Such a wide variety and they smell amazing), cute booties/going out heels for cheap, makeup (have scored on Anastasia highlight as well as F.A.B. tinted moisturizer and a few palettes that I was looking at getting full-price at Sephora anyways), and macaroons! They always have macaroons at the check out counter that I can never resist. I have also been keeping an eye on their luggage lately.. the new location is divided into two floors with the first floor having makeup, skin care, hair care, purses, jewelry, and luggage, and the top having everything else (the bulk of the clothing, home goods, etc.) They have a sampling of luggage upstairs lining the entrance by the escalator but I recently discovered there are a host of other luggage collections on the first floor! If you're looking to invest in a new carryon or luggage set and can't find a cute set on Amazon, I would check here! The staff is friendly, including the guard who is always at the door, and all in all, I can't get enough of this place. Also just found out the other day while shopping here- they're online now! This is the weirdest TJ Maxx I've ever been in. Most TJ Maxx's seem to be designed so you feel like you're on a treasure hunt, looking for the hidden gems. This one feels more like dumpster diving. Located on the second floor of a building that has a Walmart and a Bed, Bath, and Beyond, there's actually a ton of space. But it's so incredibly empty. Clothing racks are pushed to the sides and there's just a ton of empty space in the middle. The selection is sparse. I found some interesting things in the store, but it just has a weird vibe that doesn't really make you want to stay and shop long. read more

I went to this store for the first time. I could only say is TJ Maxx is definitely the store that is worth visiting! I really enjoyed my stay and my shopping as well. The whole place is very organized, decent, bright, and well-maintained. They also have a parking lot that is so big. TJ Maxx is a very convenient place. Their employees are very patient, polite, and really great to be with. They will not hesitate to help the customers and give a hand to those who need it. Such great customer service! 2.5 stars for me. TJ Maxx hasn't really impressed me as a discount retailer and I always feel like their Maxxanista commercials always are better than what I've seen in the actual stores. Or, maybe this one just doesn't have that great of a selection compared to other locations. Anyway, it seemed like the whole store could have used a quick straightening job. The merchandise wasn't displayed nicely and certain areas were just a mess. I mean, granted, it was a Sunday evening so I get it. I've worked retail before. Also, another gripe I have about the merchandise is that it just seems somewhat old and dirty. Nevertheless, my boyfriend found two Nike Pro workout tops, which were a steal at $15 a piece instead of $30. We also picked up two huge coffee mugs, which amused us. Would I come back? I suppose, but honestly, we were just in here to use the bathroom and ended up buying things anyway. Oh, and another gripe - I really hate it when bathrooms don't have toilet seat covers! I always spend too much at TJ Maxx on stuff I don't need, I do the same at their competition too. Shampoo, trail mix, beet chips, and just weird stuff. There's a reason I try to avoid these stores, most of the stuff is decently priced so you walk around and load up your cart thinking, well it's only, and that's only, guess what, all this and that stuff adds up. I've got love for the Maxx and I'm not embarrassed to put it in writing. So, the story goes like this: I run into TJM a couple times per month since it's close to my gym. Today, I found a pair of Saucony running shoes for $35. They're grey, trimmed in magenta and totally cute. The pair I actually wanted (they didn't have an 8.5, unfortunately) was on clearance for $21! I already completed my run so I can vouch that they're extremely comfortable with tons of shock-absorbing padding. Seriously, you can't beat that price for gym shoes. And a couple of weeks ago, I found a pair of to-the-knee flat, slouchy black boots (complete with expensive-looking detailing) for $50. Yep, fifty freakin' bucks! I've also found yoga mats here for $10, and earphones for $3.99. Sure, the sunglasses selection is really kind of miserable compared to other TJMs and most of their dresses are last year's rejects. But if you make a commitment to come in consistently, you're bound to stumble upon a fantastic deal or two. read more

Nice Sweater! C. Where did you get that Sweater? D. All of the Above (with petting action) Boyfriend glares a little skeptically at me, because, let's face it, I am Italian and entirely capable of bribing the girls with drinks into complimenting the sweater he was initially not-so-excited about putting on... except I didn't. This time anyway. Then The Guys noticed and got jealous, They wanted this sweater and the feminine appreciation (and light petting) it garnered! After a few two many drinks, Boyfriend said "I want 3 or 4 more of these..." pulling at the sweater and swiped the ground with his foot (I swear!) Cutest thing ever. So Yelp, did you know T.J. Maxx has Cashmere and Lambswool Ralph Lauren Sweaters for half-retail or more? EW, Not the gross, ghetto sweatshirts with logos bigger than a house plastered all over... those are grosser than the go-to predecessor: a stained Bears T-Shirt with holes in it that "I SWEAR I do not know where it went! Where did you leave it last?" Oh, No. This is the soft, subtle, warm sweater with the tasteful tiny little embroidered polo rider and horse on the chest. Because, collect all the Macys coupons you can clip- you still won't be able to score this deal. And my friends won't either... Because I told them all I bought it at Saks. Ha. Shows them. But I'll tell you because you are extra-special to me. I bought four (Charcoal, Blue, Black and Gray) at TJ Maxx for just over $100.00. They retail individually at Saks for $185.00. This TJ Maxx is A-Ok for sure in my book. As with any store that gets new stock in daily, frequency is key to finding a bargain. As is buying it when you see it because it probably won't be there next week. I've gotten some great designer dresses here for a steal (To the Max, Laundry). If you are in need of a particular basic, this is the place to look first and get it at a great discount. This TJ Maxx in particular is great for kitchen products. If I need something specific (spring foam pan anyone?) I check here before going downstairs with my coupons. 9 times out of 10 I have found what I need for half the price of other store in the building. Sure the store sometimes looks a little messy, but sometimes it doesn't. The employees aren't overly friendly or helpful but the register line goes quickly. read more

The fitting room attendants here were nasty! They were always bellowing in their ghetto-ass voices and giving me dirty looks as if I were an intruder. They never failed to be rude every time and they'd make me wait forever until they finished goofing around, so during my last few times there, I'd just walk in the fitting room without getting a number card from them. They didn't even notice or care! My advice to T.J. Maxx: save yourself a few bucks and improve your reputation by firing these incompetent fools. With that said, I think the store's pretty dirty and cheap. Yes, it's T.J. Maxx, but it's the most ghetto T.J. Maxx I've ever been to (and I'm from Brookfield!). I would always find bras in the pants department, shoes in the luggage department, women's blouses in the children's department, and so on. read more

Unfortunately this one is in the middle of the gayborhood (I'm not hating- I'm family!) so should you be a size Medium or smaller and a male (who doesn't cross dress) you should be aware that these sizes tend to disappear and disappear fast. Now I'm not saying you'll walk inside and all that will be hanging on the racks will be in size large and above, oh no. Much worse. You will find racks half full and instead of Ed hardy, Puma, True religion or whoever you searched for hanging delicately off it's hanger- you will find a fabulous new UIC t shirt or perhaps if you're lucky a cubs t shirt (very possibly a jersey sporting a team members number that hasn't played for at least a season). I'm not a hater- I'm just saying. If you are these sizes, you see something you want, GRAB IT. It will be gone in minutes. Happy hunting! read more

Going into this place gives me the hives. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for cheap stuff, but I just can't deal with shopping here. Here's the kicker: we went in here to buy a Christmas present (Trump: the Fragrance. Yes, it was a joke) which we had seen here a week prior, but the place was super busy, so we thought we'd stop by later. We get there, and I search through every inch of the perfume area. I only found one box left that was beaten to shreds. So I tracked down an employee and asked if there were more in the back. She came back with a newer looking box. Wonderful! Well, gift exchange time came, and our friend opened his gift. He thought it was so funny he had to open it up and smell it right away. Not bad, not bad. I come here frequently when I'm in need for a little retail therapy. With good prices not only can I not complain, my pocket book can't either. I frequently have luck with finding good quality name brand items and on occasion have seen said items in big name and boutique stores around the the city for much more $$$$. If TJ Maxx is saving me money, I am a fan. Also, as a side note, my sister and I went shopping here for my nieces recently. There were SO many cute clothes for kids at this location. I think this is due to the fact that the neighborhood isn't really a kid friendly environment and those families that live in LP probably aren't shopping at TJ Maxx. read more
