This location rocks. Way better than the locations I have been to in the burbs. Crazy deals. It's so fun to hunt. I snagged these TWP pants that were like $550 for $90. There were some saint laurent jeans I spied as well. There are lots of things with synthetic fabrics but if you look closely you can find some high quality stuff I've never found the women's shoes to be worth my while. Kids shoes have a good selection and again better than the burbs. The parking is super easy and connected via elevator. read more

I'm biased because I actually was part of the electrical design of this store maybe a decade ago. But I honestly get great deals at Nordstrom rack and this location, although it gets bust has a way better inventory than the one in the loop. I mean men's stuff. It's a bit further from public transportation, at least the far from the train. But I swooped in at the end of the extended Black Friday deal and got maybe $150 of work polos for like $20. They had a sale on the sale items so it was something like 65% off. So I was happy to snag some good quality clothes for cheap. read more

They had a disappointingly large women's shoe section here for such a large store. Luckily for me I suppose it's rare that this would be the Nordstrom Rack at which I'd shop since it's not really convenient to my home or workplace. However, my mom and sister found a few items they liked. They have some parking along Weed Street in front of the store. Great customer service from Ashley: In summary I recently returned a top in person to Nordstrom Rack 1551 N. Sheffield Ave Chicago a few days ago and two days later I remembered why I ordered the top online ( only one of the size I needed available) and wanted the top back. I phoned the Nordstrom Rack and spoke with one salesperson in the womens clothing section she could not locate the top and seemed to have difficulty understanding my request to locate it. I ended up providing her my contact phone number/ name. A short time later I received a call from a salesperson who identified herself as Ashley and she explained that the initial sales person had difficulty understanding what I wanted. I explained what occurred and my request. Ashley stated she would look into the matter and give me a call back. I ended up phoning Ashley to find out if she was able to locate the top, I was informed by another salesperson that Ashley was at lunch. I identified myself and she stated she would give Ashley the message that I phoned when she returns from lunch. Anyway a short time after my call I received a call from Ashley and she informed me that she was able to locate the top i wanted, though it was like a needle in a haystack to do so. I was able to return to Nordstrom Rack later in the evening and pick up my top. I was also able to meet Ashley who was very nice. I was elated that she took the time to locate my top. Great location, the free parking garage is nice. Usually have something I'm looking for every time I go there. Being a larger guy, It's usually harder to find the right sized clothing, but I've always found something I've needed/shopping for at this location. Awesome selection of shoes and men's clothes. And, the fact, that they have some awesome employees who give back stuff that they find. Thats an added bonus. I am talking about finding a brand new samsung tablet. Can you imagine someone handing that over. It was a staffer. Awesome guy. Gave it back with a smile. I am beginning to love Chicago. This is my favorite Nordstrom rack location in the city of Chicago. Their designer section by the first floor elevator for women has some hidden gems that are really well priced. The designer shoe section at the top of the escalator is excellent also. Nice selection of good basics in athletic gear as well as home goods. Compared to other Nordstrom Rack locations in the city, the Lincoln Park location is pretty sizable so I'm always surprised that their selection seems more limited. Maybe it seems that way since the racks are a bit disorganized as well. The reason I keep coming back is the convenience of the attached parking garage and location; otherwise, I prefer the Nordstrom Rack location on Chicago Avenue. As others have mentioned, the customer service is a bit lacking. I would say my interactions with staff members have been generally neutral - I'm either ignored while browsing the store or standing in awkward silence during the slow check-out process. Even when the store is not busy, the payment process is really slow for some reason. read more

This is one of the newer locations, conveniently within walking distance from CTA North/Clybourn red line. I like the organizations in their handbag department. They were brand-specific, so if you were looking for something from a particular brand, you could go to that table and shop. It helped because I'm always looking for anything Tory Burch, Kate Spade, and Furla. Their shoe department was one of the best I've seen in any Chicago Nordstrom Rack. The variety wasn't abundant, but there were more quality selections. If you're a fan of Coach and Tory Burch, you should check out this Nordstrom Rack before proceeding to other locations. Overall, this location is relatively small but the neighborhood residents seem to enjoy shopping here. It's usually not "trashed" or "sabotaged" by tourists, so you can actual "shop" instead of "dodging the crowd." read more

Part of going to Nordstrom Rack is the thrill of the hunt and not knowing what I will find. I usually make a beeline for the shoes and handbags, giving a cursory look at the clothing if there is time or if the merchandising is compelling or some particular item catches my eye. This store is spacious compared to the Nordstrom on State Street and definitely not as overcrowded as the one on Chicago Avenue. The women's designer shoe selection was not much to write home about, although there were some hidden gems in the regular shoe selection on my visit. I found a pair of New Balance fresh foam sneakers with rose gold detailing and a pair of Vionic flats (one of Oprah's favorite things!). The handbag selection was stellar and seemed a lot less jumbled up compared to other Rack locations. As far as clothing, there didn't seem to be a lot of high-end designer items although I might have come on an off day. The line was long but moved very quickly. Wil definitely be back here next time I want a fix of serendipitous bargain hunting! read more

The customer service at this Nordstrom Rack store is non-existent. I currently am physically challenged due to major knee surgery. l approached the customer service area and a cashier who was bent over leaning on the counter and as I explained my disability thus, unable to stand in a long time yet with zero consideration he told me to go wait in line. I wish I could but considering I have a new prosthetic in my right knee, I am unable. The cashier by the name Of Shaheem, dismissed my current disability and told me to go wait in-line. I asked him to please page the manager, he rudely complied. I briefly met with Melissa, the apparel manager, and without regard or apology said she will ring up my return. The Lincoln Park Nordstrom Rack store just lost a decades long patron and should feel shameful in the manner a customer with a disability is treated. read more

Once I told the cashier it was just for a bigger size she seemed in-interested and ignored us as she spoke to the her register neighbor. This place has a huge space parking in front of their store. I park my car easily since there is space in the parking lot. There are a lot of people inside. They are busy buying their needs. I went to the women's section and looked for clothes. I found a shirt with a design on front. I purchased a white color and beige shirt with a different design. Aside from that I also bought sunglasses since they're on sale. It's perfect for some beach outfits. After that I went to the bag section. There are a lot of different kinds of bags. I have had incredible customer service experiences here but one stands out in particular; I came one night to return an item, I saw they did tailoring on the sign by the elevator! Great; I had my winter coat which had a tear on the side and needed to be fixed. The time was 7:30pm; they actually told me that they could do it that night in 20 minutes; and they even only charged me $5!!! I am regular there and I have found majority of the staff to be nice and helpful. (Come on everyone is allowed a bad day now and then reviewers!) Yes I think the Selection is a little different than the Skokie location, but that place doesn't have as good customer service in my opinion. They over delivered with the immediate tailoring and it made my day!! read more

Then when I get to him he has an attitude. Maybe because I didn't want to give a phone number or an email. He intentionally took his time scanning. I politely asked for his name. I just wanted to let management know that I had a glowing experience at this Rack location today. First, I asked a floor attendant if there was another dress of the same size available, due to some minor make up stains on the one I tried on. She quickly checked all locations and in the back and then brought it to the tailor to remove the stain. All within 5 minutes! Next, I checked out with Desiree C. She was so kind and efficient in my return and purchases. She had a positive voice and demeanor throughout the entire exchange. She was even multi-tasking, answering phones and assisting others, all while making me feel like I was priority. Employees like this are hard to find and wanted to express my appreciation to management. Also, for everyone else, this store rarely lets me down in terms of inventory. The turnover is quick and I frequently find fabulous items on the Designer Row clearance section that are in my size! I always feel items are organized and spaced for a shopper's ease. I consistently look at my receipt and see the total I paid is over 60% off the retail price. read more

Horrible customer service. Had to come here to do a return and do some shopping but was treated terribly. The item I purchased at another location was ticketed wrong and instead of letting me know what the hold up was there cashier decided to call all managed and make me wait without letting me know what they were doing. Apparently, because the ticket on the item was different than what the item was they couldn't do a return and told me to drive an hour away to the location I purchased at. This was without offering any resolutions, or even attempting to reach the other store for support. I requested they call the other store to fill them in on their problem. That manager at the original purchase location suggested they would look at their system and figure out what to do and they would call back. I was told to wait, so I've waited for what was supposed to be a quick process. Another, "manager" then threatened to have me moved because I said I did mind that they were taking other customers without resolving my issue. They have me talk to the original store purchase manager and I'm told the same thing! So I clarify... They were saying that they would not take my return because the ticket that it came with which I paid was wrong... I was to pay the higher price and not get a return or get a return for the lower price. I told her that was being accused of tagging the item myself at which point she agreed that was wrong and completed the return. It is not the customers responsibility to correct the companies/employees mistakes! I did nothing but return an item that I purchased and was treated horribly. They are so oblivious to customers needs in this store. On more than one occasion I have witnessed lines backing all the way up and cashiers just walking away. I tried to grab the name of the rude cashier but he wasn't wearing a badge. One cashier open with a completely full line, then the rude one comes over, but lethargically cleans the register area before slowly signing on and then calling the next customer up. RACK IT UP I have been dying to check out this new location. Parking is free but make sure you do not leave the property or else you will be towed at your own expense. I am not speaking from experience but just from reading all the warning signs posted. When we first arrived we could not get into the store. We hit the elevator button and the elevator never came. After a few minutes, we decided to do it the old fashioned way and we used the stairs. When we arrived in the store there was a large group of people just waiting by the elevator. I warned them that the elevator was not working and this sent all of the workers at Nordstrom's into a frenzy. I told the customers to use the stairs but they informed me that the doors to go to the parking garage were locked from the outside. I just hoped that they would fix the situation by the time I finished shopping. Everyone knows I love customer service. While I was looking at shirts, I met Brittani who is the Men's Dept Manager and she was very helpful. I was looking for a shirt in a certain size and she was able to find it really fast. It was like she worked here or something. Ha! I took all of my shirts into the dressing room to try on. The one shirt I loved was just a tad too snug. I wanted to try it in the next larger size. I asked the woman working by the dressing rooms, if another size existed. She said that she was unable to see it because of the code on the shirt. I went back to Brittani because she seemed to know her stuff. She did a quick look in the racks but did not see it. Then she took out her phone and snapped a photo of the shirt and asked me for my phone number. She was going to send out an email to all the other Nordstrom Managers to see if the shirt existed. I thought that was really cool of her. This is why Brittani is the manager because she goes above and beyond for the customer. I am still waiting for that phone call though. Brittani find that shirt. Please!!! This shopping area has really changed over the years. I love the free parking. I stopped shopping at most of the other clothing places around here because they charged for parking. Nordstrom Rack is doing it right from the beginning. The store is two floors. I spent most of my time on the second floor in the men's section. My girls shopped in the children's section which was also on the second floor. This store is great because it offers nice clothes from designers without the high prices you would find on Michigan Avenue. I don't need to pay full price for a shirt. In fact, I can probably get three shirts here for the price of a single downtown full price shirt. So bring on the deal! I was lucky that the elevator situation got fixed by the time I was done shopping. Apparently the cleaning lady stopped the elevator on the top floor to clean it. I'm thinking management should tell her not to do that because the store was crippled. It was like a roach motel. No one could get out of the building to their vehicles. So if you're looking for a great deal on some clothing then this is the place. There stock is always rotating so you'll never know what you will find. I recommend visiting weekly. I just hope that the cleaning lady isn't hijacking the elevator on my next visit because I don't have time for that. read more

If you're familiar with this block you know that Whole Foods and a strip club are on it...both being establishments in which it's pretty easy to go through a couple hundred bucks in a short period of time. Well if you don't want to Rack up a tab like that on what to wear while buying organic produce or getting a lappy then the Rack will be right up your alley. It's the discount version of Nordstrom's with lower prices on last year's styles. Yeah...if you're super fashion forward you may turn your nose up at it, but for the rest of us that don't like dropping g's just to stay current it's pretty damn awesome. The store itself is average sized but really easy to navigate and full of friendly and helpful employees. Parking is a plus and if you find a cologne you really like where better to try it than VIP's down the block which I mentioned. When it comes to department stores, I prefer going here in Nordstrom. The store is spacious enough considering all those many different items inside. They have a free garage parking which is really nice. The staffs I encounter from my previous visit was not really a good one and luckily the new ones in here are friendly and helpful. I love their various selection of good quality items from accessories, jeans, shirts, dresses and all. There are a lot to choose from and I never left the place empty handed. The only downside for me is their few disorganized shelves, that' all. If you wanted something like this one then you should go in here. There are lots of stuffs that you might like on their store. One star sums up how I felt when leaving this Nordstrom Rack after being harassed to get the Nordstrom debit card. I'd had a great time shopping but once I got to the check out all the fun came to an abrupt halt. Did I want the Nordstrom debit card? No, I did not. Was I really sure that I didn't want it? Yes, I was sure because I don't want any more cards. Well..,then how was I going to be paying? With a giftcard. Huh. but what about the difference, how would I pay for that? Well, I would put that on my debit card or one of my credit cards...of which I already have too many. Hmmm....well, didn't I understand that the Nordstrom card was a debit card? YES. I GOT THAT. But no, I still don't want it. Enter Major Stink Eye!!! You know when someone is giving you huge amounts of attitude? I do too. It's rude and it feels really awkward. This woman didn't even thank me for making a purchase and was acting like she couldn't wait for me to get out of her face because I didn't want the stupid card. What a horrible way to be made to feel all because you don't want some stupid debit card. The other times I've been here people have let it drop when I said I didn't want it but this woman was a real jerk. This woman may know all about the advantages of having the Nordstrom debit card but she knows absolutely squat about having the kind of personality you can take to the bank. I enjoy shopping at Nordstom Rack so I know I'll be back and I can only hope that I have the foresight to bring some sort of official looking form so if that woman checks me out again I can ask her if she wants to sponsor me in a charity run or a sausage eating contest and when she tells me no I can point out all of the many ways her decision is wrong. I'm not sure how this is possible but this is the first time I visited this location. So we were in the area after lunch and a haircut so we stopped in for some shopping. First off there is free parking in their garage so that gets a star right out of the gate. There appears to be some repairs or renovations going on as the elevator was down and the front entrance was partially taped off. This may have effected their security system which would explain the abundance of security by the entrance/exit?! The selection is decent for men and women. As always the rack carries large shoe sizes for men. While this is not my favorite location in the city it isn't bad. I would come back because when it comes to the rack you never know when that magical day will roll around and you will instantly fill your cart with amazing deals and threads. read more
