Aside from the first time I went to Nordstrom...It has been less than pleasing. It literally is a hit or miss with the employees. They are either super friendly, or not friendly at all (unless you look like you have money...). I received excellent service from the woman that helped me purchase pillows (yes, I'm on the lookout for the perfect pillow), but why do the ladies who work in the make up section have to be so bitchy? Its to the point now where I tend to go through Nordstrom in passing instead of actually stopping and shopping. read more

I bought a pair of Chuck Taylor all black converse on line. Seemed to fit well when I got them but wore them for a day and realized they were too big. I contacted Nordstrom and they of course immediately said no problem bring them back or send them back for exchange. I'm sending them off today (no charge!) and looking forward to receiving the new pair. Nordstrom fan forever. read more

I went to Nordstrom to find a long coat for an interview but I couldn't seem to find the right one so I asked for help to one of the employees name Hoai L. She was amazing, she really went out of her way to find the right coat for me, she was very knowlegeable with the clothing amd knows a lot about fashion. She was very attentive with me. Nordstrom used to be my go-to store for women's shoes. The store at The Westchester now has very limited selections. Could not find anything to wear with a navy dress for a formal occasion last summer. More recently, I needed a business suit for a mid Fall function. They had bottoms without the corresponding jacket and sales staff attempted to match a different line's jacket to make the suit, but materials and colors were off. Very slim selections - and the sales staff agreed that this store does not carry the same variety and quantity of brands as other stores, for example their NJ store. Furthermore, please do not pay your bill 12 hours late: impossible to reach or get a straight answer from credit card customer service. Very disappointed. Nordstrom has definitely lost its standing in my choices of where to shop. read more

Worst customer service ever. The managers are worse than the sales associates which completely makes sense as to why the sales associates are so unprofessional and rude! I was humiliated in the store yesterday by a shoes sales girl, the manager said she was fine to have spoken to me so rudely and his manager said my story wasn't true according to the employee.. what employee would tell their boss that they humiliated and rudely belittled a customer? We all know that Amazon is killing mall-based retailers; we also know they will increasingly compete in apparel and I love Amazon but the personal shopping experience at Nordstrom and specifically with Kristin Barnett (men's section at Westchester Mall) is outstanding. To Nordstrom's credit, they were early competing online and have one of the best websites so ordering from them online is quite good. The only problem is that it is nice to try the clothing on and see how it fits. It is also great to get the opinion of a pro. I have shopped with Kristin on past but needed to buy a tux for an upcoming wedding, decided to make the investment and sought her opinion out on a Hugo Boss vs Ted Baker tux. I came in and she had everything set up in dressing room, perfectly smooth process and then needing to upgrade the wardrobe in other areas, I asked Kristin to bring things in ranging from sports jackets to pants, shirts and shoes. She is incredibly knowledgeable and a real pro having worked at Nordstrom for over 15 years. Her taste is spectacular and she brought in so many nice things, I ended up redoing my wardrobe and have gone back several times. I brought several existing shirts from my closet and asked her to find jackets that would match because I had lost confidence in my ability to coordinate combos and have been wearing far more athletic apparel where I sue did not need to get many things right to feel good. I have so much confidence in Kristin that I want to bring the boyfriends of my daughters in, my brother-in-law and strongly recommend that you will come away feeling much better dressed when you put yourself in the hands of Kristin when it comes to wardrobe decisions. Thank you Kristin!!! She is easy to communicate with via e-mail, she will tell you when tailored pants will be ready, when special sales are going etc...Highly recommend! read more

I actually started my career at this place about more than 10 years ago. It's were customer service goes to die. I was there today trying to purchase Hunter boots for the upcoming NYC weather. I was helped by this guy in the Women's shoe department who rather be getting an anal bleach than helping me find my freaking Hunter boots. Seriously!! He was annoyed I asked about the size I should be wearing and if they have an extended calf. He was beyond annoyed when I asked to see a short version. I'm so disappointed since this is the closes location in NYC. I wrote a letter to the manager last year about being racially profile and I guess nothing has changed. It is a very sad day in the retail industry when the last department store to shine based on it's customer service is no longer providing that. Nordstrom has loss a customer forever..... read more

BEWARE unless your wearing a suit and tie do not expect service or to be acknowledged in the men's shoe department.. so i was there about 2 weeks ago to return a pair of shoes that i have ordered online. i got to the men's shoe department and i walked straight to the registers and stood in line, there was a gentleman in front of me that a cashier was already helping and there was another associate by the name of "collins" that was just standing there next to the registers, so as i am standing there and i see him looking at me waiting there and he did not even say a word to me or acknowledge me, a couple of other associates passed right by me and said nothing, over 10 minutes go by and this other associate walks to the register to ring up a customer that he was helping and he looks at me and asks was i being helped.. at that moment as soon as he said that "collins" who was just standing there decides to finally acknowledge me smh.. i was so upset and then what really bothered me was that collins tried to justify the situation saying there was no line and that he did not know i needed help, are u serious?? well if u don't ask customers how would you know if they need help or not?? and by u saying there was no line but i am standing there for a long time what am i invisible ? absolutely horrible, never again will i shop there, id rather drive further to a different store for a better service and respect, than to deal with that. read more

My experience of this Nordstrom location has been fabulous. A laser shopper, I do a ton of research online and hardly ever go into physical stores except to 1) check color and fit and 2) to treat myself to my twice-yearly day of shopping. On my last such excursion this past spring, I decided to be measured for shoes for the first time in a few years. My shoe size had, in fact, changed, and although Nordstrom didn't carry the shoe I was looking for, the staff could not have been more pleasant. Maybe it helped that I was there first thing on a weekday morning and there were very few other customers around. It may also have helped that I'm a Midwesterner---my friends here in Connecticut tease me for being too nice. I'm not sure that's true, but I do believe in treating store employees as I would want to be treated. In any case, customer service here is every bit as good as in, say, suburban Chicago. read more

Nordstrom is supposed to be a high end store in the same realm as Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales for example and as such with the amount of money spent in this store there should be a higher level of professionalism and customer courtesy than say you would get in Walmart, especially when giving people positions of authority I drove all the way from New Jersey to this Nordstrom to purchase $1000 pair of shoes along with other shoes that I decided to allow the young man to have shipped to me instead of ordering online so that he could receive a commission and to return a pair that was just purchased 2 days prior and were never worn the alleged stand in Assistant Manager named Luis Raggio refused the return stating they were worn when they clearly were not but that was not even the point of the matter the issue was Luis was was super nasty and has no customer service skills whatsoever and definitely needs some retraining on how to deal with customers I have been a Nordstrom's customer for over 10 years and I am actually on first name basis with several of the employees in the location at Garden State Plaza I have never in my whole shopping experiences including shopping at the discounted store on the rack been spoken to in this manner or addressed in this manner he initially was being nasty to my friend who was speaking to him first and when I saw the situation escalating I actually tried to diffuse the situation and he was still being nasty to me he would not let me finish a sentence and was cutting me off even though I never raised my voice towards him, I never used a curse word towards him I actually asked him why was he being so rude and I stated to him I an a nurse so I know he should have a level of patience and professionalism when talking to people and I told him that I was actually trying to diffuse the matter and when I asked if there was anyone else we could speak to he stated he was the manager for the whole store for the day which I found to be odd. I immediately contacted Nordstrom online and I have emailed his manager along with the regional manager and hopefully something will be done because his behavior is inexcusable and upon reading your reviews it seems like this is going notion at this Nordstrom location and FYI I still allowed the young gentlemen that was originally helping me order my shoes and receive the commission because I felt bad for him read more

This review is focused on the Chanel counter which I visited today. Although I had not planned on buying anything here (and was actually planning on buying what I needed at Neiman Marcus), I was surprised to find out that the Chanel counter here has a pretty decent selection of the makeup and skincare lines. The sales associate I worked with was incredibly nice and helped me choose a nice Christmas stocking stuffer. I will be back. read more

This Nordstrom is my fav of about 4 that I've been to, the cafe is such a great place to relax and grab something really quick.The ambiance is great overall!! My only problem would be the men's department and the lack of anything worth buying I've tried over and over to find something and its selection seems very grandpa, the makeup department has always helped me between seasons with finding the rite shade the women in the fragrance/makeup department are very attentive and always have a smile. read more

I was recently there to make an exchange for some items I wasn't too crazy about that I purchased online. Antoinette, from I think the "Top Shop"dept., helped me and she was great! While I was waiting for my new items to be rung up I found a belt that I really liked but it was too big and she was nice enough to go downstairs to a whole diff dept to get me a better size. I work in retail myself and know how tiring it can get, so for her to make the extra effort was really nice. read more

My Boyfriend had originally ordered my birthday present from the Nordstrom's online. He rushed shipped it so I would get it before my trip I am going on. he lives over an hour away from me so he had it sent to my house just Incase it came late. When I opened the package the labeling was all correct but the actual item was wrong. I was supposed to get the XL Cult Gaia Ark Bamboo Handbag, but instead I got a mini one the width of my hand... I called customer service and they said i would have to go into the store to return it to ensure I get it before my trip. I went to the White Plains Store, which is over an hour from my house, where I was bounced around from person to person. I ended up having to leave, because it took too long and they did not know how to deal with this problem, and they were put on hold trying to figure it out. They said someone would give my Boyfriend a call to figure this all out. They called him an hour later, and he reminded them that the package would be going to my address not his billing address, which is over an hour from me as well. They said that they will make sure it was sent to me not my boyfriend.... But of course they messed up again and had it sent to his billing address which again is over an hour away from me. I now have to drive all the way the day of my trip to get my present.... I called customer service and explained the situation and she never once apologized or made it seem like it was an issue.... i did not expect this to happen from a place like Nordstroms..... read more

OMG! Don't go to the shoe department! I went to the shoe department on two different occasions and did not get the opportunity to try on one shoe! Some brainiac management personnel had the brilliant idea to give a staff person a microphone to announce that a customer was waiting! So each customer that shops in the shoe department has to locate the Announcer who will then announce one customer waiting, two customers waiting, three customers waiting, etc. And all the customers have to stand around idly waiting for an associate to come and make a inquiry about what shoe they want to try on! And after you actually get an associate to assist you, then you wait another ten minutes for them to bring you back the shoe! UGH! I was disgusted. I went there today and was customer number four! I waited patiently and then after an associate was finally free to assist me he never came back with the boot! Needless to say I left the store vowing to never return! The service is substandard. I will not give Nordstrom another dime! I'd rather go to Bloomingdales or Neiman Marcus! read more
