Our auto was insured with Norfolk Dedham in 2018 Accident was deemed to be not our fault. In July of 2018 a person who may have suffered a Medical Issue hit our vehicle. We contacted Norfolk Dedham and our agent. The adjuster asked me a few questions about the accident and where the car had been towed. After me telling him the location of the towed vehicle the adjuster told me we had twenty-four hours to remove the vehicle from tow lot or we would have to suffer costs from storage fees beyond that time. The auto had full coverage so contacted a body shop and told them about the adjusters claim we would be responsible for fees beyond twenty-four hours, they worked it out to have it towed to their shop for repairs. They were not surprised we were told that. Got the feeling that Norfolk Dedham was not all it claimed to be. After a few days at body shop, the adjuster they hired from a private firm appraised the auto. The accident was deemed not our fault, told deductible was waived and all repairs were to be made, this is what we were led to believe, that other insurance company would reimburse Norfolk Dedham. On the day we arrived to pick up the auto we were told that our Insurance company Norfolk Dedham had not paid for all repairs they applied a betterment charge of $97.00 because they applied a wear factor to the damage parts, without paying the $97.00 auto would not be released. Parts were damaged in accident not worn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was our insurance company Norfolk Dedham telling us this. they were not even responsible for bill would be getting full compensation for all repairs. The only one losing is we the insured through Norfolk Dedham Our auto had about 24000 miles on odometer, auto was about 14 months old still under warranty bought new. Both parts were fine before accident and were not worn, they were damaged in accident in order to repair auto needed to be replaced. We are trying now to get our money back from either Norfolk Dedham or State Farm the others insured. State farm denied claim saying my insurance company Norfolk Dedham applied the betterment and did not submit that portion of bill. We will not be insuring anything with either insurance company in 2018 and never again. Anybody insuring with either one of these company's. We wish you a lot of luck as long as you pay them and have no At Fault or Not At Fault accidents you may be fine. DO NOT INSURE WITH THESE PEOPLE read more

Here's a unique claim - I got hit by a biker who went thru a stop sign and did $5000 of damage to my new car- thankfully he didn't hurt himself other than his pride. N&D was fabulous; I used their Hi Marley claim system and was kept informed throughout the process. My car was seen promptly, dropped off at the auto body shop (who loves working with this carrier) and back to me within a week. I was very impressed with this new interactive system. While I'm usually more comfortable with speaking to an actual rep, I gave it a try and was more than pleased. Why not do business with a local company with almost 200 years of experience! read more

This company has been a nightmare to deal with. Their client caused an accident which resulted in my brand new car being totaled, as well as totaling another parties car. The agent I spoke to there was extremely unprofessional and kept trying to get information and twisting my words to somehow turn the accident on myself- my car was completely stopped at a red light.... I've been awaiting a repayment from them since March 23rd 2021 and she keeps dragging it out, at this point my follow-up emails are being ignored. She requested a new accident report from me over 6 months after the accident despite having my perfectly accurate report from the DAY OF the accident. Unfortunately, I will be moving forward with legal action regarding this. It's completely uncalled for and has caused a lot of financial hardships for me. I would never recommend this company to anyone, and I feel bad for victims that have had to deal with them. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. A client of theirs damaged my vehicle and because I was not at fault I decided to go through Norfolk & Dedham. Joe Walsh the representative from Norfolk and Dedham said he would send over the appraisal to my body shop and to myself. He did not. When I got to the body shop, they did not have the appraisal. The shop was prompt in getting me the rental car because they wanted to get started right away. The problem is that Joe wanted to know how long the process was going to take before setting the reservation, which was only at $30 per day. Well the rental agency put me in a car that's higher than Norfolk and Dedham's budget. I have to take this car back to Enterprise to get a cheaper car but I'm still going to be charged for the first two days because I can't even bring my car back to Enterprise until tomorrow evening. Norfolk and Dedham probably won't even reimburse me the first two days. I'm still going to take the car back to Enterprise to see if I can return it, end the reservation I have and have Norfolk and Dedham start a new reservation. I AM BEYOND LIVID! This is the worst customer service experience ever and Joe Walsh has done nothing to make it better. Stay far away from this insurance company! read more

Nightmare! Insured home and car with them. House sustained multiple problems from last winter's unprecedented storm. Excessive snow load and mult ice damns. We caught the company writing illegitamate reports to cover themselves. They, like they did to other insureds who wrote a review, paid out less than 1/3 of damages (and we didn't put in for everything) and then dropped us! As if we created the storm!! We had had only one minor claim, under 4k, in a 25 year period and they felt the need to drop us. Awful insurance. I switched to geico and sent a cancellation letter 10 days before. Y automatic withdrawal. Then called 3 days before to make sure they had the cancellation letter and that they were not going to deduct my payment. I was told they received the cancellation and my payment was not going to be deducted. Well the day it was supposed to be deducted it was. I called and was told a whole bunch of stories. This is a review of our Master Condominium policy in Boston which we've had with N&D for 9 years! When we finally needed it, they paid less than they should have and then cancelled the policy! We had a ice dam related water damage from the adjoining condo in our condo that should have been pretty straightforward to assess. Instead, we had to go through 2 different adjustors over 3-1/2 months before we even got a claim paid out. The ultimate claim was for only 1/3rd of the cost of replacing the damaged property despot the policy supposedly covering replacement costs. Then to add insult to injury, they sent a notice of non-renewal. We've paid as much in premiums over 9 years as the amounts we've claimed. What is worse, they didn't even bother to assess that the damage was not caused by poor maintenance! NEVER use these guys. they only want to insure you if you don't want to claim read more

Was with this company for 26 yrs, not a claim filed, always paid in full. They have 3X sent an independent inspection agency to my house to find fault, twice sent in the past three yrs. Interesting that 'issues' they find were NOT and issue the last time. Had they not poked me I'd have never seen how they insure my assessed valued house of $291,000 at $410,000 !! What the heck? And of course the premium reflected that. I'd been complacent, that's my bad, wished I had also checked the Yelp reviews from time to time. Terrible customer service. When I called for a quote, I expected the phone to be answered by someone that would connect me with an agent or even take my name and number and have an agent call me. Neither of these things happened. I immediately called the next insurance company on the list and was completely taken care of. They canceled my auto policy for alleged late payments, however, I did try a few times to pay online, and for some odd reason, their server was hanging up on me, giving me "card not valid" errors when the card was good. Paying online through my bank has been taking 5 days despite my bank being one town over from their office in Dedham. I called my agent and complained. My agent said "oh, you paid, your'e all set, ignore the cancellation notice." Well, guess what, they did cancel it, but no worries, I am not renewing with them for sure!!! read more

I do NOT recommend using The Norfolk & Dedham Group in any way, shape, or form. They are the shining example of why people, in general, think insurance companies are money grubbers. My vehicle was stolen a couple weeks back and from the moment I initiated the claim, I was met with resistance, and an overwhelming feeling of "did I do something wrong here?" They found a "loophole" in the system and was determined to not give me a cent on my stolen vehicle claim. Luckily, my car was eventually found by the police.But the headaches did not end there. My claim covered rental but I was never reimbursed for the MONTH that I needed it to get back and forth to work . They also denied paying for the tow and storage fee for my vehicle once it was actually found, which ended up being a substantial amount of money. MY car was not only stolen from me...I ended up paying close to 1.5k in fees due to the incompetence of Norfolk and Dedham throughout the process. All in all, AVOID this company. First they ignore you for weeks and then they hire 3rd-party bully adjusters to harass you out of getting enough to do the repair. Dog has no bite history and was sweet as pie to the inspector. Got a cancelation based solely on her breed. I told them I have a German shepherd, why did they waste my time taking off work for an inspector if they were going to make a decision based solely on breed. Allstate gave me coverage for half the cost. After reading other Yelp reviews, I should consider myself lucky I didn't wind up with this company and suffer a loss. read more

This is the worst insurance company I have ever done business with. This insurance company has put my mortgage at risk. There was a claim made on my master condo insurance. N&D's investigator came out and determined that the accident happended on the other owner;s property, not on common property. That happened Jan. - March. I never heard anything else until I got a non-renewal notice indicating that this was due to "osses." They put a huge hold on the claim and have refused to simply deny the claim. So, they didn't renew and now I can't get insurnace anywhere else because of the hold. The new owner of the other condo and I both stand to lose out mortgages. Run away as fast as you can! read more

I've had Norfolk and Dedham insurance for years. My truck was recently deemed a total loss due to an accident. My truck was rear ended off rt 9 into a tree. The truck that hit my vehicle caught on fire from the impact from the front of his vehicle. Both cars were towed from the accident. When the driver went to get his truck from the tow company he saw my truck and stated he did not think he hit it that hard. There also was an off duty paramedic that witnessed the accident. It occurred in the afternoon with many more vehicles on the road. It's been over two weeks of speaking to different people now I'm being investigated?? Norfolk and Dedham, my own insurance company it trying to weasel out of paying my claim. It's being investigate as if fraud was involved on my end! This is absurd! If you choose to go with Norfolk and Dedham insurance make sure you put money aside to cover legal fees to fight them to get your car covered. DO NOT USE NORFOLK AND DEDHAM INSURANCE! read more

I was put on hold and transferred at least 6 or 7 times and kept coming back to the same person who would instantly say please hold and transfer me before i could even finish speaking. My wife and I had been rear ended by someone who had N&D, and their claims department did a wonderful job taking care of our car. Fortunately no one was hurt, but the car was pretty dinged up. We were sent to a body shop near our street, and had no problems with the rental. The repair place did take a while to fix the car, but it came back looking great, and N&D did a good job keeping us in the loop. We may end up switching to them as our current insurance company has terrible customer service. read more

I have not been able to get anyone from this company to call me back regarding reimbursement for my rental car. In fact, their customer service rep told me "it is not her job" to assist me with reimbursement. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. If I could put 0 stars I would. We have insured our house with them. Last winter, a pipe burst causing flood in the house. N & D rushed to send us a contractor to dry up the place without informing us of the cost for this service. The contractor came with huge fans and even the adjuster agreed that this was over done. Once done, and after numerous phone calls and emails, N & D finally sent us a check for the repair. Forgot to mention that the check was sent 3 months after the contractor they contracted came!!!!!. Out of the total amount, we have to pay, to this contractor we didn't choose, close to 50% of the repair estimate. The contractor is asking us to pay $1700 for his services. I would be curious to know how much of a mark up this insurance is taking from vendors they send to insurers! these practices are totally unacceptable. N & D is not a company worth your business/money. read more

they are a mess. it was impossible to cancel a policy. 6-7 phone calls, emails and letters to them but still they sent invoices for a canceled policy and then sent it to collections. Be Smart please don't buy this insurance for your car or cars. It will take forever to fix your car if you got into accident. Someone broke my side widow and the whole thing fell off, and I did not know who did it. I wen to the auto body to check and it cost around $400 to replacing including the labor cost. I have a deductible $300 and the insurance only pay $100 for it. After 10 days, I call the company the lady stated that appraisal have been sent out 10 days ago, and I told her I did not receive it yet. I assumed may be mail was delay because of the holiday season. 3 days later I still did not receive it, I called back and told the lady again that I still did not receive it. The lady ask me for the email so she can send it right away. I waited and still did not receive it. Come on use your brain, it is only $100 and seem like they don't want to pay it. I feel lucky that my car still drivable. Think about if you got into a big accident and your car is not run at all. You will get stuck. got into accident with 1 of their clients was deemed her fault, got claim number and adjusters name the day after accident, spent the next 2 weeks calling and calling to get my vehicle fixed, not 1 call back, then decided to leave message with manager, let kind of a nasty message, got call from someone else there, was nice person, but not the assigned adjuster, kept getting in process of determining who is at fault, well police say its her fault, reports say its her fault, then whos fault is it, then they asked the appraiser to add 20 to 30 % more depreciation to my plow that got damaged so they didnt have to pay a larger amount out, WOW what a scam business. so now they determined its her fault 2 weeks later, NO KIDDING, cant get them to call me back to get me a rental for when my vehicle goes in shop, it goes in next week and still no check or rental, well i hope the owners read this ITS THE WORST COMPANY IN HISTORY!!!!!, complained to attorney generals office, will see how that goes, then will be hiring a lawyer, there is no way they will be getting away with this ignorance, it will cost them triple when i am done. read more
