One of the best sushi experiences I've had in years, and easily among the best sushi restaurants…read moreI've been to anywhere. This is a true mom and pop, hole-in-the-wall kind of place. No frills, no flash, and no attempt to impress with décor. Instead, all the care and pride are poured exactly where they should be, into the food and the service. And in those areas, this place delivers five full stars without question. I live in Washington, D.C., where sushi options are plentiful and often overpriced. Many of those restaurants would wish they could match what this small spot does so effortlessly. The freshness and quality of the fish were outstanding, and every piece of sushi showed a level of attention and craftsmanship that is becoming increasingly rare. You can taste the care in each bite. What really stood out was the consistency and intention behind every order. From the sushi chef's precision to the welcoming service, it felt like a place that genuinely loves what it does and wants you to leave happy. This is now firmly on my list of must-visit spots whenever I'm in Hagerstown. If you appreciate great sushi made with skill, heart, and honesty, do yourself a favor and seek this place out. It deserves to be discovered.

This was some of the best sushi I have had around the Hagerstown area. Cucumber salad was delicious as well! $84 worth of sushi and it was worth it! Don't mind the other reviews complaining about the wait. It's very well worth it. Also, If your into syrupy sodas? The Mr Pibb was incredible!! They have the syrup turned up! lol Will definitely be back.

Sure there were…read moreChinese restaurants that offered sushi as a side thought but they were just that a side thought; skinny rolls, room temperature and just not what I was looking for For. I have been all over the state of Maryland looking for good sushi and guess what some of the best is right here in Hagerstown at Wasabi. The restaurant is always clean and the portions are always good sized. Reasonably priced, although they have gone up in the past couple years like everything else. The staff is always very kind and considerate. And I swear I've watched the one kid grow up from being a child at a table doing his homework to now he's the waiter. They are closed on Mondays which is unfortunate, but everybody needs a day off. I miss the days of green tea coming in the tea pot with a little cup. It comes in a coffee cup now in a teabag and it's nearly 3 dollars for a cup of tea but I can't stand drinking soda with Asian food it just doesn't mesh well. I recently tried sushi in Rockville and Baltimore just, because why not, and when my son and I went to wasabi last week we both started laughing when the food came out because the presentation was better and the flavor was better and the size was better and it was just all around better. I don't know what else to say. Oh did I mention that the restaurant always clean and the people are always super nice?
