I have never had issues with this dealership in the past, which is why today's experience was especially disappointing. I dropped my car off for service and the agent assigned to me arrived late. He then informed me of additional services that were not included in the original quote and failed to explain beforehand that these services would be required or mandatory. As someone who does not have extensive knowledge about vehicles, I relied on his guidance and agreed to the additional charges. However, what followed was completely unacceptable. While the agent believed I had left the dealership, I was still inside making a phone call. During that time, I overheard him and another employee mocking our conversation and making jokes at my expense for not knowing better. This behavior was unprofessional, disrespectful, and humiliating. Customers should never be ridiculed for trusting the staff they are paying to provide a service. After spending over a thousand dollars, I expected courtesy, transparency, and basic professionalism -- not mockery behind my back. I'm came by here this weekend to pick up windshield wiper blades. There was only one person ahead of me and I noticed it was taking a long time. The employees and customer were speaking in Spanish which is nice. When It was my turn, Hector gave me the best service at a Toyota service center. He taught me that I could just replace the rubber pieces of the blade. He took the time to explain the process and what to avoid to not break your windshield. 10/10 for service and advice. I gave them one star because negative stars wasn't an option, but NEVER go here. Generally i prefer to only write reviews when i have good things to say, but I've had it with them. Every time i have gone there for service there has been an issue. The people who answer the phone will give you wrong information without bothering to check on the answer. The greeters and service agents are rude, and they just don't care. I could go into detail on each of the interactions I've had, but it would take too long and my thumbs are tired, so let's just say that they need to retrain their entire customer service department so that the front and the back communicate so they don't give people wrong information (repeatedly) costing them time and money bringing the car in only to find out that everything they had been told was false. And I bought my car there brand new (still in warranty even)! I will not be doing that again, and I am actively looking for a different Toyota dealership to do my future servicing. read more

I visited Norm Reeves Toyota San Diego last Sunday to look at some cars and possibly buy one if the price was right. I met a nice salesman who started asking me some qualifying questions. After a short time, we sat down to discuss what I wanted and the price. I made an offer and asked him to check with the sales manager. The sales manager never gave a straight answer, so I left. On Tuesday, David--one of the sales managers--called me to ask about my experience. I explained what had happened. After talking for a bit, he offered to help and eventually agreed to sell me the car I wanted for slightly more than my original offer. I told my family, and we drove all the way down--through heavy traffic--to get the car. After a short test drive, I was told that David, the person I had spoken with on the phone, had already left for the night, but they assured me they could still honor the deal. After waiting for what felt like a long time, the new salesman William presented a deal that was completely different from what had been discussed. They then tried to sell me a different car with a different package altogether. By this point, I had spent several hours of my time, and I was embarrassed in front of my wife and daughter. They misled me about the deal, made me drive all the way in traffic, and then tried to pull a stunt that may work on some people--but not on me. Someone's word and honesty are very important to me. Terrible customer service, they don't call back when they tell you. I was told my truck would take 2-weeks to paint on a recall it's been 3-weeks now, I get a call a 2:53pm saying my truck is not ready because they can't calibrate it. They close at 5pm why can't they keep working on it? They said they're closed on the weekend and will continue to work on it on Monday. I asked what time Monday they couldn't tell me, I asked is a guarantee it will completed Monday they couldn't answer that either. I asked to speak with a Manager, I was told apparently not manager is working today. I asked to speak to the General Manager for the dealer he's not working today either, and all they can tell you is I'm sorry, but they don't tell you we're going to get on it right away and take care it. They gave me a rental, but they should at least provide something equivalent to what you drive, I use my truck to run my business, I can't operate my business out of a rental car. read more

My parents bought a Tacoma here with cash 2.5 months ago but the dealer would not transfer my parents the title. My parents reached out to the dealership multiple times requesting the title but just received lies and excuses. Finally, I had to call 6 times just to speak to a manager and remind them the legal limit is 30 days to transfer a customer the title. I was promised a call back in the morning, no call. They finally acknowledged that they sent the DMV the title after 79 days. Do not trust this Dealer. Lies, Lies, and Excuses! I have been buying parts online from Norm Reeves Toyota for several months. I live near Palm Springs and have options from Toyota dealers out here a d others online. But Norm Reeves stands above the rest. The shipping is quick and I even had the employee Fernando call and follow up with me regarding some rack and pinion bellows. He wanted to confirm the clamps I ordered were correct as there are two different sizes for each bellow. To me that's going above the typical online order. Most parts employees would just fill the order and ship it out but not Fernando. You can tell he takes pride in his work and customers. I will continue to buy parts from Norm Reeves Toyota in San Diego even if it means I have to wait 2 or 3 days for my parts, as they have very knowledgeable employees and the service is by far the best. WORST SERVICE EVER! This is not my first visit here. I have had my car serviced here many times. I made an appointment for Saturday morning to get my car checked out as it was making a funny screeching noise. I showed up a little before my appointment time. A man came up to my car and checked me in, put one of those square numbers on my car and said Richard will be with you in a minute. I waited as two or three female service writers went to the Car in front, one in back, and one beside me. I waited.... 10 minutes later Richard showed up and said sorry about the wait, what can I help you with? I told him, he listened to my car and said that I would need a diagnostic test and unfortunately they couldn't do it "today", they were booked. when I asked why did they schedule me, he said they had many workers call in sick. Why did they check me in? Why were the cars around me getting service? He told me if I could leave my car over the weekend he could put me down for early Monday morning. I drove all the way from Chula Vista to be told I couldn't get service. What ever you do don't go here, but if you do ask for anyone other than RICHARD. He obviously does not care about service! This is a business vehicle, so the time-frame was even more important. Like many manufacturers, Toyota has a problem with peeling paint on white cars. When I bought my car it came with a warranty that includes service appointments. The key word here is appointment. I make an appointment to have my car serviced, and I somehow can't make it out of there in under 5 hours. The "courtesy" shuttle took 45min to even get started and smelled like a dirty ashtray.
