I was told it would be two weeks. It took over six. When I went to pick the piece up, it was handed over to me with no comment. The work was very poor quality -- not tightly stretched with ripples throughout the work. I asked about this. The woman at the shop (who did not do the framing) said she had asked her manager because she noticed the poor quality. (Though they were just going to hand it over to me without comment!) The team wasn't confident they could get it tighter without ruining the paint! I was told that they wouldn't be able to do better -- and any attempt would put me at the end of the very busy holiday queue -- and that I should try taking it to a different Michael's location with more experienced framers. But this location would not communicate with those shops - that was up to me. And to make it even worse, when I went to take it home so I can bring it elsewhere, they said they had nothing to wrap it with to protect it because it was large. Other than an apology of bad work, no conversation about what they could or would do to make this right.

As she was ringing me up, the cashier asked me lots of questions about the mission and listened to me ramble on about the shoe box gifts we send out. I selected a card and walked up front to pay. Just a little background info on the store, all their cards are 50% off the price on the back so most purchases are less than $5 if you are just purchasing 1 card. They do not accept credit or debit purchases less than $5. Luckily, I had a $20 bill with me to pay cash for the 1 card I was buying that came to $2.60. When I handed the $20 to the elderly woman who failed to greet me, she rudely said "you don't have anything besides a $20?". It wasn't in a respectful tone such as "do you have a smaller bill? We don't have a lot of change." Or something like that. So I smiled and said "I do not, but hey, it's green" in a joking manor. In response I got "it doesn't bother me that it's green, it bothers me that it's a $20" in a completely inappropriate tone. I gave her the $20 and she popped open the cash register revealing several $1, $5, and $10 bills. Enough to change out several $20s. She gave me my $17.40 in change and my bag. As I exited I told her that I would be sure to stop at Wegmans for my cards from now on as I am sure they won't have a problem with $20s. In return I heard "go ahead!". I am unsure if this woman was the owner of the store or just an unhappy employee. I pray she wasn't the owner as she clearly has no respect for customers. I am all for supporting small businesses but I will not be back to this business. My in-laws are small business owners and they would want to know if one of their employees treated a customer poorly, so that is the purpose of this review. I'm not sure if that lady was just having a bad night or was unhappy with her job, but there is never an excuse for treating a customer that way.
