My wife have always mentioned about this place. We had the pleasure of doing thier monthly 4 course meal. Every month Normas has a special selected meal for anyone to choose and pay in advance. This month they had several options that we really enjoyed. I will start out with the roasted duck. This plate took me by surprise. I never had duck, but the plate was delicious with the noodles and mushroom soup. Then I tried the PBJ chicken wings. At first, I wasn't into the thought of Peanut butter, but it wasn't that bad at all. It had a good flavor. Then we tried Lamb and Seared Cod with cilantro, onions and mushroom risotto. That plate was amazing and delightful. Finally, we had some banana cake pudding which wasn't a knock out for me, but it was still good. It's unique look which is clean, up-to-date, and comfortable makes it even easier to eat here in peace. The sandwiches are authentic, unique, and the taste is impeccable. Came by for a Norma cuban and stuffed potato. A few other customers were dining in and several at the counter talking with staff. I ordered and waited about 10 minutes. The cuban in 9 inches and 7.88 pressed and all the way, thought it was a little high. The stuffed potato is 2.25 and thought fairly priced. I took them home and the cuban was good but was not a big fan of the stuffed potato. They are not made in house and would try something else next time. I love the new Norma's. They took an old plant city classic and upgraded it. I loved the old Norma's and I love the new Norma's. The Cuban sandwich was amazing, as usual. There is new owners, they aren't trying to hide it, they will tell you it's new owners with the same old recipe. I love it. Now I can go enjoy an old plant city classic Cuban in a modernized setting. But I was surprised to see that there was a new place that opened in honor of that restaurant, I went there for the first time today and was not disappointed. The Cuban was very good, I will say it was not an exact image of the original but it was closer than I expected. The Spanish bean soup was actually better than the original in my opinion though. Needs more meat and not very friendly by not offering any advice from the menu. Seriously if you are going to charge $9.00 for a whole cuban and then to pay over $2 for a drink then that bad boy should be memorable in anybody's mouth. Tavern carved ham and pork cuban thats been roasting and marinating all night at Alessi's bakery in Tampa cost $10 and that my friend is a must or head over to St. Pete drive anywhere else, but here. Also, had an empanada more rice then meat! Now I feel like he is just cutting cost down by filling it up with rice. How about the onions or olives or cheese? Needs a little more flavor then the rice. If you call it a Spanish Empanada because it has rice in it then make it worthy of what it is supposed to be. I gave it two stars for the decor the tables and bathroom where chic. Very modern, and hopefully my advice will help and look forward to visiting again to hopefully change my review. P.S. offer more then just a lunch priced cuban special to your customers. read more

This special place is by far one of our favorite places to eat and we're here at least twice a week if that tells you something. What a little gem in downtown Plant City! Stopped in there for the first time today and the place was busy. That's always a good sign to me.
