I'd driven by this place so many times and this morning, we finally stopped in. First of all that cafe con leche spoke directly to my soul. It tasted so good and was perfectly sweetened. It was so comforting and felt just like mom and abuelas cafe con leche. I'll take that over a big time coffee shop any day! The restaurant itself was nice and clean had plenty of tables and seating. I walked right up to the counter and ordered. I had a tiny bit of a hard time narrowing down my decision but i ended up going with the roast pork omelette which i loved. It came with my choice of bread and i picked Cuban toast which i loved as well. My husband went with the Mac Daddy which came with fish and grits and the way it smelled in the car omg i wanted to pull over and have some before we even got to our intended destination! I'm so glad we finally stopped in. The pricing was fair and the service was super quick and friendly. I've stopped by J C's Sandwich Shop for lunch a few times with some coworkers. It's quick, affordable, and perfect for a casual lunch. I've tried a few things here and the roasted pork special is by far the standout. It's very flavorful and definitely worth ordering! I've also had the grilled chicken salad and turkey wrap, but I wasn't a fan of either. If you go, stick to the Cuban or pork-style sandwiches; that's what they do best. I ordered the JC's special which is a HUGE Cuban sandwich, chips and a 32 oz drink. You can't beat it for $12.95. I loved how quick they were in getting my order to me. The only reason I am giving it four stars is because when I get a pressed Cuban, I like my meat to be hot. The meat on my sandwich was still cold, which is most likely because 1. There was a lunch rush and they got me my sandwich pretty quickly, 2. The sandwich is HUGE so it would take awhile for the meat to get warm/hot as well. Otherwise, the flavor was there, the service was fast and friendly, and the ambience in the restaurant was great. It was very clean and not messy by any means. I will definitely be returning! I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich on Cuban bread with fries and their 'fries sauce'. The order line went through quickly and the food was fresh to order. All the staff members were friendly and had a positive attitude despite the number of people at the restaurant during the rush hour. The food was delicious and the sandwich was bigger than I expected. The restaurant had options other than sandwiches to include meals with your choice of meat with rice and beans . I am subtracting one star because it says there is an option to order prior to pick up and for about 15 minutes either no one would answer the phone or the line was busy ... So many choices in this small sandwich shop that's located in a business park, I opted for the pot roast on Cuban. But they have a ton of other great stuff to choose from and the folks were super friendly even though it was clearly hard for me to decide on lunch. A few minutes later, a very well stuffed sandwich was ready to go and I brought it back to the office. My biggest complaint is the prices. For a Cuban sandwich, side of yellow rice (no beans) & a fountain drink the total was $15.75 Even on their web site Cubans are listed at $6.75 but yet in the shop I was charged $9.95. Food tasted fine but $15.75 is too much to be charged for what I got. I could have had lunch at Red Lobster for those prices! read more

I was standing in line waiting to order. As I approached the counter I notice a basket French fries sitting under the light. Ordering a cheese burger and fries with a large drink I told the guy (only guy every there) please fry my fries soft. The guy said yes and then said something in Spanish to one of the women, who scooped up the fries under the light and sent them to the back of the kitchen. I watch one of the women dump the fries in a pan on the table in the back. Ok needless to say when I got my food the fries were over cooked and almost black. I stopped in here for lunch with a group of guys I used to work with. This place was minutes away from our office but we had never been before. It looks small from the outside but they have a reasonable amount of space inside with 8 to 10 tables or so. The line starts off to the left which can be awkward to get to when entering the store as you have to walk through the table area to get there. The menu is overhead and can be hard to see the right section when you get up close to the ordering area. Prices in pics others have posted are old, it's about a dollar more today than some of the items show if you look through the pics in Yelp. The staff are friendly and the food is large in portion and very tasty. The drink and condiment area is a little busy but overall this is a nice lunch option for local office workers. Food is good! Hospitality is SUPERIOR! Fast Service But Less Political could go along way. First things first I have been passing this sandwich shop for about a year since I moved to tampa and I finally got the chance to check it out. From the moment you walk in it's fresh the atmosphere is nice and clean..the news station is on FOX NEWS. Strike one why even have the news showing with all the chaos going on in the world sometimes it's great to just get away from it all. Maybe turn off the TVs or even turn it to a music video station or something that's not broadcasting political events. Moving on to the walls the flags on the walls are a bit much why not just An American flag and call it a day. (I have attached the flags and I feel like they should be taken down and just keep the American flag. The boss and his wife is VERY nice and seem to really care about people. Since it is close to work, I decided to go back and try something different. I ordered the stuffed potato and empanada for myself along with the philly cheesesteak sandwich for my co-worker. We are not fans! We would not order any of what we tried today nor would we recommend it to anyone else. The empanada was half filled with picadillo which was dry on the inside. The stuffed potato was not good quality at all. I could not tell if the potato was fresh or boxed but it was not good and I threw it away after the first bite. My co-worker couldn't even stomach that much before spitting it out into a napkin. He was not pleased with the philly and barely ate half of it. It did not look like quality meat was used in its preparation. Today's meal was a true waste of money. We should have gone to the other place we considered instead. read more

I'm a trucker. A vegetarian trucker. So I love finding little gems out here on the road. This place is one of those gems. Breakfast & lunch only. Quaint. Cozy. Inexpensive. Great menu for both meat eaters and vegetarians. ESPN on one TV and news on the other. I had the egg & cheese sandwich add mayo & pickles. Grits with cheese. Grape soda.
