Bacon and cheese omelette with grits

If you find yourself wandering through the charming town of Plant City, Florida, make sure you stop by The Brick House, a hidden gem nestled behind the taller buildings and sitting right next to the train tracks. From the moment you arrive, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time to an era when the town was first taking shape, and the steady rhythm of the passing trains evokes a nostalgic connection to the past. The Brick House is more than just a restaurant--it's an experience. Walking through the door, you're greeted with warmth, both from the rustic, inviting interior and the genuinely friendly staff. There's an unhurried, welcoming vibe that invites you to relax and savor the moment. Here, the goal isn't just to feed you, it's to make you feel at home--like you're dining with family you actually enjoy spending time with. It's a place where conversations linger, and you're encouraged to slow down, reconnect, and truly enjoy your meal. We dove into their menu and tried several dishes, all of which exceeded expectations. The BLTs were wonderfully crisp with just the right balance of bacon to bread, and the bacon and cheese omelette was perfectly simple--fluffy, with a light touch of cheese and perfectly crisp bacon inside. Served alongside grits and a homemade biscuit, it was comfort food at its best. The grits were silky smooth, topped with a generous pat of butter, just the way they should be, while the biscuit was flaky and fresh--so much so that I couldn't resist asking for some honey to make a quick honey butter. It tasted like something right out of my grandmother's kitchen. The breakfast platter, featuring scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, and golden toast, was also top-notch. The eggs were perfectly scrambled--not too dry, not too runny, and the bacon was the right kind of crispy. Even the simple crinkle-cut fries served with the meal were executed to perfection, bringing a bit of nostalgic comfort to the table. Though we didn't get to try the fried grits (which are only served on weekends), I've heard they're a must-try, and it's already on my list for the next visit. I can't wait to return for that treat! And, of course, we couldn't leave without trying dessert. The homemade peanut butter chocolate pie was the perfect ending--rich, creamy, and decadently satisfying, with a crust that was the right balance of crunchy and buttery. It was so good, we couldn't resist taking a slice home. If you're in the Plant City area, The Brick House is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a local or a traveler passing through, this unassuming spot is a place where the food feels like a hug from the inside out, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you belong. Trust me, it's worth the detour.

Stopped in on our way home. Good reviews. Pretty busy on a Sunday morning. Had to wait about 20 minutes. Once seated our server was right over for drinks and orders. Tough decision between breakfast and lunch. I landed on the turkey, ham and bacon club. Very fresh and large portion. Side of tots were on point! Deb had the pot roast. Great as well. Very tender and the gravy was delicious Nice local vibe and good food. Worth the stop.

Went here for the first time last week with my grandparents, I was so excited to find a place with great southern food. Our waitress was Sherri, she was terrific! Then today I brought my fiancé and Courtney took great care of us too. All of the staff is so sweet. From the front door all the way to the back. Biscuits& gravy, the deep fried home fries were delicious, the grits, churro stuffed French toast and veggie omelet was delicious. We found our new fave place

We came by for a quick breakfast. We did find a spot in the very full parking lot We ordered coffee and water which came right away. We had biscuits and gravy, french toast and veggie omelette. The coffee was good and we did not wait long for our food. The biscuits and gravy full size is 2 biscuits and plenty for one person. The french toast was also well portioned and tasty. The veggie omelette and biscuit was good with the veggie sautéed. The environment is quick moving with waitress being very busy but keeping coffee and water full. Will try some of the desserts next time.

Greeted by friendly hostess. Server was tentative the entire time. Recommended the Patty Melt and tots. Excellent flavor on both. The ham and cheese was plentiful and delicious. Come slaw had nice flavor. Good tea. The place was clean. The servers worked together. The restrooms were clean. Definitely will go back.

So I have a friend group of about 10 who get together regularly for brunch and one of the members suggested this place. They take reservations and our server was friendly, and funny. In addition, the manager/owner came over a few times to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was quite yummy, particularly the deep fried grits. Essentially a hunk of grits, lightly bread covered with bacon, cheese and optional gravy which we got on the side. Our food came out in a timely manner and everyone enjoyed it. The only reason it doesn't have five stars is the acoustics there are not good. It was difficult for us to hear each other, but with a smaller party it would probably be fine

Always my go to! My fave is the blt n crinkle fries. All I ever eat there is perfect! New owners are promising to keep everything like it is now. If it's not broke. Don't fix it! Glad to hear it too! I also love the servers here! I like to sit in the back area but all the girls are great! Always laughing and cutting up with the customers. Just a fun place to eat!

It's an amazing town. Certainly this place is favored as it's packed. We have a 30 min wait for 2 with no reservations = 1 star. I am an iced tea snob and I have to say the ice tea is pretty dang good = 2 stars now. The service was good = 3. Star

Sat quickly for lunch. Server came to us fairly quickly. Sweet tea is delicious. Ordered the ham, turkey, bacon club and a patty melt. Side of onion rings and fried okra. Large open room for the dining. Booths and tables. Kinda of loud due to openness but not anything unacceptable. Everyone is friendly. Food is delicious and fresh.

Food was good, but the owner is extremely rude and aggressive. Not recommended and will not return.

Food is good, and restaurant was super busy. Parking is a little chaotic. It seems like everyone knows everyone.

Inside was bright and clean and pink, with cute signs and decorations on all walls. We were immediately greeted and given the spiel since we had never been: cookies with or without frosting, cookie ice cream sandwich with flavors of your choosing, boxes of cookies, or just ice cream. I went with a sprinkle cookie with icing, and it was perfect. I love icing so sweet it makes me shudder, and makes my teeth feel like they are about to fall out, and this hit all those benchmarks. We were told that while the cookies are made in house, the ice cream is not; however, it is made by a local dairy (ice creamery?) and brought in fresh. Go here eat cookies be happy!

In my photos I numbered the $25.99 12 mini cookies with 1 being the best and 10 being the worst. I couldn't label the 11th cookie, but just look at the photo. I did order 2 chcolate chip cookies on the left side. I didn't try all of the cookies, but here is my ranking from best to worst: (Best) 1. Red Velvet - the icing is actually delicious 2. For any other style cookie, Bake N babes (especially chocolate chip) or Indy's cookies are the best you can get around Tampa Bay.
