It was a pretty hot day, but one of the nicest things is that the park is primarily in the shade. There are two main playgrounds right next to each other. There is also a baseball field, soccer field, dog park, picnic table/pavilion area, and more! The entire park is really quite large. I enjoy Sunset because it is more intimate and some of the people at Sunset have been there forever. The clientele at Persinger is younger and part of the neighboring community. The fitness/community center literally looks like a modern barn on the outside. Inside you will find much of the same fitness equipment you will find at Sunset. Persinger has a basketball court and a walking/running track you will not find at Sunset. Persinger has upstairs meeting rooms with an elevator. Sunset has a training room and a racketball court. My personal preference is Sunset because I feel it is more intimate than Persinger. Because of this I give Persinger four stars and Sunset five stars.

It's easy to keep track of the kids at this pool bc it's not too big, but there's plenty of space for people of all ages to play in the pool. The #1 great thing about Sunset Pool are the lifeguards, who take their jobs seriously and do their jobs well to keep the pool a safe & fun place to spend the summer. They are always scanning the water, practicing drills and keeping up with their CPR certs. Ask anyone who visits Sunset Pool and they'll tell you the same thing. I do think the concessions are too pricey for a small town pool, but that's why we also like to bring our own cooler of snacks and drinks to enjoy during swim breaks.

We've always had Coach D, who is firm with the kids (important!), but funny, playful, and creative with the activities they kids do. They aren't just games, they are intentional activities to help the kids build in strength and skill. We most recently completed the 2022 summer at Prairie. I appreciate the ease of enrolling and then getting to stay in the class until you want to stop. No re-enrolling every 8 weeks. No worrying about missing the start of the new session. Easy, no hassle canceling when you are finished. We've had no problems with a makeup when needed. Open gym is also so fun! Finally, the second floor viewing area for families gives a wonderful overview of any activity no matter where they are in the gym. Prairie Gymnastics is a clean, safe, fun, wonderful gym for kids to learn gymnastics.

The site continues to evolve to meet the needs of the community. The staff are in large part part time and mothers. They are part of the neighborhood and proud of the town. The trainers are quite often physical therapists who are looking for flexible hours. The equipment is constantly updated with workout areas and a racket ball / handball court. You don't have to live in Geneva to take advantage of the fitness center. It just makes it cheaper. If you are a senior citizen, you will want to enroll separately from your spouse. It is cheaper.
