Tree house park with zip line. Right next to the river. Great shaded areas for days when it's hot.

This park is hidden away but worth the short walk. It's on the bike path and has a few bridges to check out with the kids. Really nice place to have a picnic in a hot day.

Island Park is an island of tranquility on the Fox River. Geneva is a relatively peaceful place, anyway, but sometimes after a day of walking around the cute shops of Third Street, you want some lush green space to just relax. Island Park fits the bill perfectly. It is one of my all-time favorite suburban places. Pro-tip: If you are driving, turn north off State St (Rt 38) just east of the river; there is a parking lot next to the bike shop. From there, cross under the bridge on the walkway, and you will be transported to Island Park. Beautiful flowers, towering trees, a bike trail, picnic pavilion, playground and benches galore, all along the Fox River. A gorgeous spot for an afternoon stroll or a romantic picnic; if you're ever looking for me in Geneva, this is one place I'm likely to be.

Island Park in Geneva is a gorgeous, picturesque park located right on the Fox River. It's a little tricky to get to, but once you've found it, it's a playground kid's paradise. I usually park in the small public parking lot near Mill Race Cyclery and walk over to the park. Be prepared to walk for a bit. You can't park right next to the park, the only way there is to bike it from the car or walk. It's maybe a 1/2 mile walk. The Fox River Trail, over a bridge, is the only way in. Now that I've made it sound like a super-secret society (it's really not!), there are a few things to know about this park. The playground is made to look like a treehouse. It's huge and really cool. Lots of opportunities for kids to climb and there are plenty of slides too. There's also a small zip line located right next to the playground. From the playground you can see a train bridge and my son had loved watching trains go by. There's a pavilion here with restrooms, but the restrooms are only open during the summer months. There's also a few picnic tables and benches surrounding the playground.

What!!! A Zip line!!! That alone makes this the best park ever! Nuff said: BONUS CONTENT! It also has quite a bit of space for everybody to play, A playground that has cooler things than just about all the other ones I've seen, perfect access to the bike path, a beautiful view of the pond, easy access to downtown and semi-clean washrooms!!!

One of my favorite parks along the Fox River. Great place for dog walks, kids to play, picnic lunch, walks, runs, bike rides. People are so friendly and everyone says hello!

This park is impeccably maintained, safe & offers a vast green space along with ample parking. Views of the fox river, mature trees & big lush grassy lawn. There are numerous activities available besides walking, biking, picnicking. You can enjoy amenities such as a baseball park, tennis/pickleball courts, paddle boats & mini golf (for a fee), fitness circuit, beach volleyball & bocce or bring your own set of outdoor games. Also a small water park with slides. Now all that's lacking is a set of basketball hoops & this would be THE perfect park! The bike path runs alongside the scenic Fox River, providing breathtaking views. Benches & picnic tables are plentiful & scattered throughout the park. It's the perfect spot to set up a pop-up tent & picnic blanket like we always do. You can also rent a pavilion for parties & gatherings. This park is conveniently located near a variety of restaurants, stores & bookstores on Main St. in St. Charles.

Paddle boats, scenic boat ride and mini golf. There are some snacks sold by the mini golf area. My only complaint is there isn't enough restrooms. There is one facility close to the parking lot but it is a long walk of you decide to camp farther away. There should at least be portopotties spread out.

This is the best disc golf course in The Kane. Hands down…read more My 6yr old son and I head over here all year round to play this course. The Wheeler disc course sculpts a greater park that also claims several walking/bike paths, a baseball field, soccer/hockey fields, picnic areas, a playground, a mini golf course and tennis courts. Some of the holes are too hard for him to come close to par, but others are a great fit for his current ability. The course has a great range in difficulty which spans from easy par 3's to challenging par 4's. Legging out the entire course is about a 2 mile venture. The backwoods holes are a real hoot. Can't tell you the number of times I've headed into the tree's or the ravine to find a disc that's hooked too far right or left. Throwing from the top of the hill on hole #11 is a person fav. Just don't be surprised if you have to perform the aforementioned trip on a stray disc. Other holes feature baskets on the other side of a cluster of tree's, some border natural grass/reed areas, while others have very lengthy fairways weaving lines of tree's. Amenities-wise there's a drinking fountain near the parking lot and bathrooms near the playground. If you need anything else, bring it. Most golfers here like to bring their own beverage of choice. Cheers!
