I'm so bummed. I'm from Minnesota and used to enjoy Norsland lefse and now that I live in California I would order it for me and for my Dad that still lives in MN. This year I ordered over $200 worth for my Dad and myself. When I received it, I was so disappointed as it was not at all the same. I called my Dad and he said he felt the same, but didn't say anything because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. I called and they did give me a full refund which was great but I am writing this in hopes that more people will say something and the company will go back to the recipe they used before. I heard in the last year or so, they have a new owner and I'm sure their efforts were well meaning, but the lefse now tastes like paper. Please go back to your previous recipe!!! read more

I picked up a few packages of lefsa last week and it was very very shewy and very very dry..the recipe has definitely changed...it is not the same taste as it was ..I will not buy Lefsa there again read more

I married into a Norwegian-American family, so when possible, we take trips to see Norwegian-American places so my husband can see his culture and I can pretend like I have a culture. Norsland Lefse is really, really Norwegian-American! It's just so old-Minnesota, you can't help but love it. I think it's one of the only places around that makes fresh lefse (which is essentially a Norwegian tortilla) every day. The old building burnt down a few years back and the replacement isn't terribly charming inside, but it's a comfortable place with definite regulars who sit and drink coffee and remind you vaguely of Garrison Keillor characters. If you come early enough, you can watch the lefse being made in the lefse factory. There's also a gift shop with all the usual Scandinavian gag gifts, often featuring everybody's favorite dish, lutefisk! If you're in southeastern Minnesota, this is a great place for a quick road trip and a bite to eat. The scenery nearby (in Rushford) is beautiful, too. read more

Awesome lefse. If you're there for breakfast, try splitting the lefse wrap, it's really large for one person to eat. Lunch is good too, sandwiches and whatnot. You can buy a package of their awesome lefse to take home, it's just like Grandma used to make. love this place. read more

Norsland Lefse holds a very special place in my heart because it's one of my fondest childhood memories - I used to visit the "lefse factory" while visiting my grandparents in Rushford back in the 80's and when I was a kid. I live in Texas now, and haven't been back up to Rushford since Thanksgiving of 2002. I feel homesick every fall, but found the greatest solution to my woes--Norseland ships lefse to my door!!! Amen! The lefse I received was not edible. I ordered two shipments of the minimum order (3 packs/nine rounds), one for myself in Atlanta, and one for my parents in Iowa. We all took only a bite and that was all she wrote! My Dad's response was "Ick!" My Mom said it was completely tasteless and so thin she was unable to unfold it as it ripped. The lefse in the package I received had dark bloches on one end (the color reminded me of potatoes that have been left out too long). It was like eating dough, totally tasteless and nothing recognizable as lefse. I called Norsland Lefse and related our disappointing experience to the manager. He said that the packages had been received in a timely manner, and when I asked if it was possible that this could have been a bad batch, he said no, that's not possible, that they have a quality product. He offered to replace the lefse, which I declined as if in fact their product is the same all the time, what would be the point in receiving more shipments of horrible lefse. I would have liked a refund of the $50 I wasted. If I'd have known this company did not stand behind their products and did not take seriously the feedback of unsatisfied customers, I would never have given my business to Norsland Lefse. read more

I have visited Norsland Lefse frequently, either for a lefse breakfast roll-up at their cafe or to take home some fresh-baked sweet rolls. I come from a Norwegian background and we "Norskes" like to laugh at ourselves. Norsland offers all kinds of fun t-shirts and Scandinavian novelties that bring a smile to my face. And their lefse is out of this world! I used to make lefse with my mother and grandmother at Christmas time. It's a lot of work and flour everywhere. I'm so glad I can enjoy Norsland lefse all year round, without the mess! I prefer it fresh, but it's also yummy after being frozen. Just be sure not to let it thaw more than a couple of hours before eating or it may tend to get mushy. Thank you Norsland! read more

Place my Christmas order on Friday December 3rd in hopes to meet the Christmas mail rush, since they offer free shipping for orders over $200.00, I went shopping for a few gifts to go with the Lefse. My order was processed the following Tuesday, part Priority Mail (2 to 3 day delivery) for the perishable items and UPS ground for the non perishables. Both took 6 days to get from MN to San Diego, so of course the lefse and potatoe pancakes were bad. Now I am NOT blaming Norsland for the US Postal service inability to deliver as promised but......... After reviewing the non perishables I was missing the smashed UFF Da coffee mug. When I spoke with Mark I offered to share the cost to resent the Lefse, potato pancakes and the coffee mug, he told me that an 8 lb UPS 2 day air pkg would cost over $60.00 and he was not willing, Now I send out pkgs and know that an 8 lbs pkg is no way close to costing $60.00 to ship. He offered to refund the cost of he lefse, potato pancakes and coffee mug, I ask if he could send the mug, since that was their mistake, and he stated we might not get it in time for Christmas, it might get here broken bla bla bla so I asked him do you just not want to spend the money to ship the mug, even though it was their mistake. Yeap just as I though he does not want to pay to ship a coffee mug at his expense to fix their error. Yes they refunded my account for the lefse, potato pancakes and the coffee mug- but now that leaves me with scrambling to find the Uff DA smash mug to go with the other UFF Da coffee mug that was geared for my brother in law and sister in law's Christmas gift. Not to pleased with their inability to fix their mistake, even when I offered to pay for half the shipping. Won't be placing any more mail order from here again. read more

Stopped here for a sandwich and soup while biking the Root River Trail. Great homemade bread for the sandwich and the soup was good too. Oddly enough we didn't get any Lefse, but I suppose that's just one more reason to come back. It was pretty awesome watching all the ladies making it though. read more

Rushford isn't necessarily the place you think of when you think of lefse, but it has one of the best places. Their lefse breakfast menu is outstanding, I would highly recommend this place. read more
