I brought my iPhone 16 Pro Max to Nortech, an authorized Apple retailer in Downtown Hammond, for a screen repair. The only redeeming part of the experience was working with Kaylee, the employee handling my case. She has been consistently professional, knowledgeable, and kind--truly a joy to work with. Her customer service is exceptional, and she clearly takes pride in her work. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience left a lot to be desired, largely due to the management. When I came to pick up my phone, Kaylee was the only person working in the store. She was on a business call in the back--again, doing everything on her own--while the owner's large, aggressive poodle barked uncontrollably throughout the store. The barking was so disruptive, it made it difficult to speak with Kaylee at times. To make matters worse, I was using an older, disconnected phone and asked the owner (one of the brothers who owns the store) if I could access the Wi-Fi. His curt response was: "There should be a guest network. She will help you with that." There was no guest network. Thankfully, Kaylee went out of her way to connect me to the locked private Wi-Fi. She shouldn't have to constantly clean up after the owners' lack of foresight or consideration. It's clear the owners have little regard for the customer experience--and even less regard for the well-being of their own employee. Kaylee seems to be running the entire operation singlehandedly, which is both unsustainable and unacceptable. I've decided to contact Apple directly to express my concern, because I expect better from a certified Apple partner. The store itself is poorly stocked with Apple products, and it feels like the certification is being used as a badge, not a standard. To be clear: Kaylee is fantastic. But she's the only reason I'm giving this review two stars instead of one. Nortech needs serious management reform. Until that happens, I cannot recommend this location. read more

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that give you multiple options of repair some of which they don't provide but tell you about it anyway if it's a better option for you. They truly put their customers first..and by doing so EARN TRUST that so many companies simply cannot say. read more

I've never had to have an iPhone worked on before. I bought my iPhone 6 used, and it came with a defective battery. I needed it fixed. And I was happy to find out that I could go to an Apple authorized repair shop close by. Nortech took good care of me. They helped me when I was lost, charged me exactly what they said they would, and got me out faster than they said they would. Ok. This review should help redeem them from the only other review I saw on here. It was from 3 years ago and I also have an apple shuffle and if it broke I think I would pitch it, buts that's another story. Here is mine. I have an early 2012 MacBook Pro that I use for work daily a good 15 hours a day. Until yesterday it has worked perfectly. I don't live in Hammond but I work here on occasion and most all of my work is on my PC. My computer crashed at 1pm on Wednesday and I took it in here. Within hours they called back and diagnosed it to the logic board which had to be ordered. Here I am thinking "crap, here goes 3 days of work with no laptop". Instead, they had the part the next day and had my MacBook Pro kicking butt in less than 24 hours. Awesome!! The best part? The parts were considered a warranty issue and they were given at no charge and I only paid labor. Talk about an honest place! If you own a Mac and have issues or are looking to buy a new one, stop here. My experience has been awesome! read more

Brought my iPhone 5 plus in for repair, I was greeted with a smile. Asked what the problem was. After a while (not long) the nice lady came back to say they found the problem, phone would have to be sent to Apple for repair, she gave the price and just about how long it would take. I had an issue recall on my iPhone 7. I was sent there by apple. I went there and they did a system restart. No issues. I need a phone due to working in health care. I called apple care they tell me that Nortech should have sent in the phone because of the recall! Never again! read more

Terrible customer service! Stood in Nortech for at least 10 minutes without being Acknowledged. Took an iPad air in for screen replacement. Was told that cost would be $249. Plus tax. When I went to pick it up I was charged $327. When I told them it was suppose to be $249. I was told the person who waited on me was new, and made a mistake. I argued with the manager and told her I should be charged the $249. And she told me she would not change it. I will never go to Nortech again And will tell family and friends. False advertising. Do not be misled by the advertised prices on this businesses website. They are a lie. I traveled 30 miles because they were the closest "authorized Apple retailer" and I was expecting on site repair for the $129 as listed but they wanted to charge me over $320. Complete BS. So before you go, expect to pay a whole lot more than what the prices are listed online. Nowhere on the website does it say there will be an extra charge to fix the phone in store. read more

I had a problem with my macair booting-up and took it to this place. they looked at it and thought they could fix it and charged me. they weren't able to get it fixed so rather than giving me a credit, they told me they couldn't. I asked to speak to the manager but he was busy. don't waste your time going to this place unless you want them to give you crappy service. not sure how a company like this stays in business. read more

Very good service. No wait. The staff is very friendly. Tested my iphone 7, turns out it was out of warranty. I ended up taking it to AT&T & filed a warranty claim, and saved $200 B/C I did not have Apple care. I'd go back again and I do recommend them. read more

About two and one half years ago i brought my mid2012 MacBook pro in with water damage. They took it in and they found that the mother board got wet and needed to be replaced. So they ordered the mother board from Apple. It came in in a couple days and they had it back to me in just 3 days and the charge was just a couple hundred dollars. i plan to use them whenever I have a problem with my Apple Mackbook pro or iPhone 5s. horrible... brought them a shuffle that was not working. I was told it needed a new battery. After waiting 2 months I bought my own battery on eBay and brought it to them because it was "sooooo" hard to get. Then a month goes by and I have to call them to check on it and they tell me they need a special tool to replace the battery and they would have to send it to apple. A month or two goes by again and I have to contact them again about it. They tell me they are working on trying to get the battery (that i already paid for) replaced for free by apple and that is why it is taking so long (even thought i have to contact them every time). I tell them that i don't care if they charge me just get it fixed. In the process I can not wait for them to forget about me again for a few months to fix the shuffle because Xmas is coming and I buy a BRAND NEW nano from them. I give it to my wife for Xmas and we can not figure why we can not get it to work. So we make an appointment with a REAL apple store and they tell us that the nano is faulty and they would have to replace it. Every time I went to this store to check on my shuffle it took them forever to find it and gave me some excuse of why they still had it and why it wasn't fixed. I have no idea how this place is still in business. read more
