Doc saw for 5 minutes and took 2 biopsies for 3 more mins and got a bill for 500$ and lab sent another 250$.. Unbelievable.

This place has deceptive billing practices. They have the ability to run an estimate for your insurance but choose not to. So it is up to you to figure out how much the procedure will cost between the time your doctor recommends a procedure and walks back in the room to perform the procedure. They were rushed in what they did, did not provide alternative options (such as a very effective prescription) and then I received a bill for $200...when the cash pay option is $120. Ask questions before and during!!!! My daughter's went to see the dermatologist due to acne. I should have asked how much the visit was going to cost, so that's my fault. The Dr spent approximately 5 min with each of them, definitely no more than 10 min. A cream was prescribed to both for acne. During the visit the Dr indicated my oldest had acne scaring and prescribed an additional cream. He asked if there was anything else that needed to be checked. Told Dr that my oldest has some scars on knees from elementary school. He looked at it and said it was fine. My son was seen because he has a wart that won't go away on his foot so they froze it off. His appointment was ~15 min. I wanted a creme for acne scaring. My appointment was maybe 3 min. He looked at me and prescribed a cream. My younger daughter and my charge for office visit was $226.28 EACH. Yep my fault, I should have asked about the cost. My oldest daughter had a different code and her office visit was $338.04. When I spoke to billing, person said code is due to Dr checking her acne scaring and her knee. Wait! What? Dr saw her for acne and noticed she had scaring so that's an extra cost. He asked if there was anything else and looked at her knee so that was an extra cost. So when he asked if there's anything else, I should have asked how much will that cost? My son's office visit was 226.28 then they charged 231.62 to freeze the wart. Wow, ok! I should have asked about cost but didn't realize it was going to be so much. Billing department informed me these are the costs. There were some insurance adjustments since they are in network, so I'll only have to pay $1,048.68 instead of $1,248.50 for 30 minutes of combined time. The staff was friendly and ample parking. Rating is based on pricing and not being informed there would be additional charges. read more

Awful. I just tried to visit their offices for the first time and mistakenly left my wallet at home because I switched pocket books. I lIve 20 minutes away and couldn't drive back to get it quickly. They had my insurance information since I had provided it previously to an assistant and they could verify I have coverage I did have my cell phone and so could show them my online bank accounts with my information as well as physcial car insurance card and my picture with my name on it on social media accounts and credit cards on my phone. i also has credit card to pay copay. I told them I'd take a picture and send over my id as soon as I get home and they still refused me. Then they started making other excuses like we are over the 20 minute mark but that's because I had to wait for them to get a hold of their supervisor. There was only one customer in the waiting room. This is definitely NOT the customer service and empathy you'd expect from the health service industry. I will never use any of their offices based on this service. read more

Thought I had submitted a 5 star review previously but it's no longer there. I've seen dermatologists all my life, bur Dr. Dahr is the best doctor I've ever had. Office is somewhat far from my home but travel & parking there are easy for mid-day appointments. Office staff are personable also. Dr. Dahr carefully listens to my too many questions, is friendly, and exudes an aura of competence. (best of all). He was recommended to me by family but is a wonderful yelp find for other patients too! read more

I have been a patient for a couple of years and was pleased until last year. Last year I felt rushed and the service was not what I had come to expect. I figured this was a onetime event and referred my parents, both of whom have had skin cancers in the past. My mom had to call repeatedly to get an appointment, which should have been my first red flag. My parents go in for their annual exam and disclose their medical history and they are not even given a full body scan - second red flag, just address areas of concern that my mom points out. My dad's prior cancer was on his foot, they informed the PA of this and she didn't even ask to look at it. Fast forward and biopsies come back and he has cancer again. My mom again calls five or six times for a follow-up with no response and even leaves a message for the practice administrator who also did not call her back. She kept calling (it has been over a month) and finally speaks to someone who is rude to her when she questions her calls weren't returned. If you've read this far, BEWARE, I would not trust this practice. Now my parents get to find another dermatologist to treat them and attempt to get insurance to pay for a full-body scan after North Atlanta Dermatology has already billed insurance for an annual exam. I am beyond frustrated and hope to spare anyone else looking for a new dermatologist the grief this practice has caused my parents! read more

Just took my son for a first visit and Nicole was amazing. Super friendly and gave us peace of mind. She also offered to answer any other questions or issues and gave great advise as well as info. Kind doctor, actually takes the time to talk to his patients unlike other dermatology clinics. My mom will continue to go here and has a follow-up next month. My friends who work at clinics say that their clinics often refer their patients to North Atlanta Dermatology. Definitely recommend. read more

I saw Dr. Dhar on December 10 for two syringes of Restylane. I went back on December 23 after not seeing any change at all. Dr. Dhar told me he could use another syringe at a cost of $500, but he felt that I would be better off getting a face lift. He then gave me a paper recommending three plastic surgeons. I told him that I had fillers done by another doctor at same practice in May and my results were very different. He said, "A lot could have happened since then"--7 months ago. I could feel the fillers under my skin from the other doctor but nothing from my visit with Dr. Dhar. Even the method of putting the filler in was different. I am 55, and I do not have unrealistic expectations for fillers, but I do expect to see a difference after getting two syringes and spending a lot of money. Dr. Dhar was condescending and rude in suggesting a face lift. I would have appreciated him expressing that I would not see a difference before using the Restylane, saving me time and money. read more

After fostering two rescued puppies, I managed to catch 4 different skin conditions. My HMO couldn't schedule me to see a dermatologist until 5 weeks after seeing my primary care physician (PCP). My PCP prescribed an antifungal, which I couldn't even get for six days. It helped one problem, but it didn't do anything to my other conditions, which were growing out of control. I called a local pharmacist, and they referred me to North Atlanta Dermatology, who scheduled me for the next day. Dr. Waxweiler and staff were very competent, professional, informative, and correctly diagnosed the other 3 conditions, and scheduled a follow-up visit BEFORE my HMO could even schedule an initial visit. AND, their fee was literally only a few dollars more than my HMO, so if my family ever has another dermatological problem, we won't even bother with our HMO and will go straight to North Atlanta Dermatology. Wish I could give them six stars! read more
