I've been buying my heroes from the shop for over 40 years. My favorite is the Dagwood. Which most people miss read and call the Dogwood. I love it with Island dressing. They put plenty of meat on it and the lettuce is nicely shredded and tomato nice and thin, but still a lot of it so you get that flavor. My favorite is how soft the bread is. I've had lots of great salads from here. I love their coleslaw. But my fave is their German potato salad. And the potato salad was good just a little bit more mayo than I'm used to. I feel their pricing is really good and the value is great. I will never go back to NB Deli again. Today was the last time. I ordered 2 egg sandwiches both w/ over easy eggs. The eggs were cooked well done the sausage had a weird flavor. The roll and the bagel were both stale 1 or 2 days old, and the OJ that you get with the sandwich was disguising like it was sour. This place really went down hill. Stay away! read more

So I had a very weird experience here. Well a weird experience for a deli that serves egg sandwiches and it goes against every practice of every deli I've ever went to. I ordered an egg and cheese on a roll and when they rang me up they charged me for a sandwich that was eggs, cheese and MEAT.... I asked the guy behind the counter "you guys charge people for meat even if they don't get it?" His response to me was "Yea would you like for me to put the meat on?"......... I often pick up an egg sandwich or a few when I feel like it. It's an egg cheese bacon/sausage on a roll for like $4.75. Comes with a small OJ, which I recommend. Only ever ordered anything else once and there was a commotion apparently going on. One sandwich was perfect, one was not right. Averaged out to being good. Will give another change in the future. It's a good, Long Island deli. If you want something from one of them and are around there, give it a shot. read more

One star is for convenience. In two years I've yet to get the correct egg sandwich. Not once. I'm not ordering a crazy sandwich - scrambled, cheese, well done bacon, s/p ketchup. That shouldn't be too much to ask, should it? We get fried in stead of scrambled every single time, limp bacon (every time) and rarely get s/p/k. Prices are a bit higher, but supporting community commerce is important. I only wish the owners and staff understood the need to cater to the community that supports them - care enough to get a sandwich right, people! The specialty sandwiches are very inconsistent - what you get and how it tastes depends on who makes it, so counter staff isn't trained on the "signature" sandwiches Disappointing they don't care more about the community that supports them. read more

Expensive, amateur food. There is one lady that licks her fingers before writing down your order, then proceeds to grab a glove and make your sandwich. Nice and hygienic. They should make her their in house expert, specializing in beef tongue. This way the lick is appropriate and the saliva is part of the " secret sauce "... No stars. read more

I wish I could give -stars for this review Working in the neighborhood and visited this deli bought a hot plate of turkey mashed potatoes and vegetables. The portion of turkey was about the size of a kids meal and got about 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes and vegetables. The turkey was dry , Like cardboard dry they put absolutely no gravy on it . The mashed potatoes were the only good part . We have been going to this deli for over 20 years for sandwiches. Recently, I ordered a sandwich and when we got to the beach, realized that they had given us the wrong sandwich. Unfortunately it had mayo on it so neither myself or my husband could eat it! I returned the next day and explained the mix-up, fully expecting that the sandwich I was ordering would be on the house, since the birds ate the last one. Sandwiches are over priced. $9 for a turkey hero and $6.00 for a roll: Then they stuff the sandwich with about a whole pound of meat. That's too much if u ask me. I have been going to this deli for over 30 years. The new ownership over the past few years has finally made me swear to never go back. I've given chance after chance for them to get orders correct only to find the wrong sandwich, condiment or cheese almost every time. They took away Equal as a sweetener because it's more expensive by a few cents, they raised their limits for credit card purchases. Today was the last straw. Calling for delivery because my son had a 102 fever and couldn't go out they let me know they can't take credit cards over the phone. The person taking the order was rude and I asked to speak with the manager. I was put on hold and was never picked up again. Thankfully I called the BABYLON Village Deli who happily delivered much better food at a better price! North Babylon Deli deserves to lose the customers it doesn't value. read more

I very rarely post a negative review but living in North Babylon for many many years, North Babylon Deli has lost all its neighborhood charm and appeal. Never can you get a hero that is made the same by different servers. There is no meat on the sandwich. This place is looking to make more profits by ripping people off. I can walk in there and stand on line for 10 min and never see anyone at the register counter. Not good business practice. Always out of something. Overpriced and annoying. It used to be called the "GUCCI DELI" under the old owner. Expensive but always good food and lots of meat on the sandwiches. Now I call it the " WORST DELI". Some of the workers are fine and helpful. Others are a waste. This family will drive further to get good service at a reasonable cost rather than overpay for lousy food with a hit or miss service. read more

I went there this morning to order a bagel and it took over 10 mins because it was well over 5 mins before anyone who worked there even acknowledged that i was standing there.They walked right by like they dont even see you.
