Came here on Saturday for a friend's birthday and wanted to give a special shoutout to Nino for his impeccable service! He was friendly, patient, attentive, and an absolute delight to be around. He made sure to check in on us throughout the evening and ensured we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. We ordered the Tortellini, Tagliatelle Bolognese, and Fritto Misto as an appetizer, and everything was fantastic. Nino also recommended some great drinks, including the Sangue e Sabbia, which we really enjoyed. For dessert, the tiramisu was one of the best we've ever had, and the limoncello was amazing, great flavor and definitely a generous pour! You could feel the burn, but in the best way possible. A big thank you to Nino and the owner for making our celebration so memorable. We had such a wonderful time and will definitely be back soon!

    Veal Saltimbocca

Yesterday 9/4/26 I took my best friend out for an amazing birthday celebration at the Northbeach Restaurant in San Francisco! Firstly, A big shout out to the General Manager: Michele Di Ruoccio - we were treated like Royalty! He sat us at a corner private booth table where we watched the live activity of the evening. Service was impeccable, the dishes were of Michelin Star quality! For the entree we split the veal Saltimbocca that was out of this world! See photo. As a wine grower in Napa Valley - we had a delicious red from Sicily - see photos . Also. I learned there's live singing especially on Thursday's with "Perry Sings Sinatra"- I can't wait to return to Northbeach Restaurant- maybe you'll see me there on Thursday! Mark, CEO PB Strategies

Got the mayor and Pinot Grigio! Definitely a nice place to chill and have a glass. Plenty of food options too. Place is neat and has plenty of seating inside and outside. Our servers were kind and attentive! Host was nice too.

North Beach Restaurant was such a lovely find for dinner with friends last night. The food was absolutely delicious, and Nino, our waiter, made the evening especially memorable. He was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the wine selection, helping us discover and enjoy a new varietal. Wonderful food, great wine, and outstanding service. A beautiful Italian dining experience (and with live music)!

    Pesto gnocchi

My favorite place I dined at while visiting San Francisco. The service and food were top notch. They start off with complimentary bread and butter. The antipasti's were delicious. The oysters had a very fresh taste to them and the prosciutto-wrapped cantaloupes had the perfect balance of sweet and savory. But my personal favorite was the carpaccio, it was seasoned very well and was complemented perfectly with the nicely toasted and not too crunchy slices of bread. For the main course I ordered the gnocchi pesto. I would definitely recommend this as the pesto was very nice and you could tell it wasn't a canned pesto. I liked how all of their pastas are handmade in house and their distinctive gnocchi shape gave it a very nice texture to it. For dessert we got red wine poached pears, which were one of the best I've ever had. The red wine taste was not too overpowering and the same could be said about the cinnamon, they had the perfect balance with the pear and ice cream to create a delicious dessert to end your meal. Service was also phenomenal, despite them having a very large party downstairs alongside filled out tables, our server was constantly checking in and even having chats with us! At the end one of the servers even offered to take a nice picture of us. Overall, I would absolutely recommend north beach restaurant to anyone looking for a nice Italian dinner or a perfect date night spot. Although, I would recommend making a reservation as it was fully packed on a Saturday night at 8pm.

Classic interior aesthetics with old-world Italian charm, dark wood, timeless artwork, and crisp white linens.

Celebrated our birthdays here, and the whole experience was such a classic Italian vibe! Michele welcomed us with bubbly and amazing hospitality, the dinner was fantastic, and the desserts were the perfect way to end the night. Grazie mille!

Last night, I brought my coworkers to North Beach Restaurant for our team holiday dinner, and we had such a wonderful experience. The host, hostess, and our server, Aldo, were exceptional. The entire staff was incredibly accommodating and attentive throughout the evening. The restaurant has a charming blend of traditional and modern--bright, cozy, and intimate all at once. The appetizers and salads were absolutely delicious; the meatballs and arancini were my personal favorites! I had the tagliatelle bolognese, which was rich and flavorful without being too heavy. And the tiramisu? So fresh and perfectly light. Everything was fantastic, and the highlight of the night was unexpectedly running into Mayor Willie Brown! A memorable experience all around. Highly recommend!

We had such an enjoyable experience at North Beach Restaurant. We decided to try a mixture of several dishes across their menu, and everything that came out was fantastic. From starters to mains, each plate had rich flavors, fresh ingredients, and that classic Italian comfort you hope for in North Beach. The atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the service team took great care of us throughout the meal. You can tell this place has history and pride in what they serve. If you want a true North Beach dining experience with consistently delicious food, this restaurant is an easy recommendation. We left full, happy, and excited to return.

Tucked away on one of San Francisco's busiest streets, North Beach Restaurant is a wonderful Italian restaurant worth visiting. One of the first things I appreciated was their valet parking--an absolute lifesaver in an area where finding a spot can feel impossible. We started with the burrata, which was fresh and paired perfectly with juicy cherry tomatoes. My father-in-law really enjoyed the Prosciutto e Melone, though I skipped that one since I'm not a fan. I did love both the Pera & Gorgonzola salad and the Watermelon Salad, which were refreshing and balanced. The star of the night, though, was the Manzo al Chianti. The braised beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of rich flavor, complemented beautifully by the creamy polenta. Honestly, it was one of the best dishes I've had in a long time and an absolute must-try! I also sampled the Tagliatelle Bolognese, which was tasty but a little too heavy for me (and my mother-in-law felt the same). Still, the overall experience was wonderful--we left completely satisfied and more than full.

I recently celebrated a special birthday at North Beach Restaurant in the Willie Brown Room, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. Anastasia from the events team was incredible--she assisted with all the planning and was present during the event to ensure everything ran smoothly. Her attention to detail and calm, professional presence made the entire experience fabulous. Our server, Lisi, was truly outstanding. We are not an easy crowd to please, but she was always attentive, warm, and on top of every need--we never once had to look around for her. The service was beyond exceptional. Everyone went out of their way to make my birthday special including putting flowers on the table. The food was absolutely fabulous, and combined with the impeccable service, it made for an unforgettable celebration. I highly recommend North Beach Restaurant and will absolutely be back, whether for another special occasion or just a simple lunch or dinner.

Saturday night last min reservation, SO glad I found this place. What a GEM! Beautiful date night ambiance. We requested to be seated away from the front door, in a small booth and boy did they deliver ( totally made our night). Must have: Veal Shank! Everything else was also delicious but the veal was 100% the highlight. Great, attentive service as well. Thank YOU for giving us a beautiful night.

Public television can be a great reminder. In the Bay Area, especially when it comes to food. A popular public television program, celebrating its 20th anniversary and featuring this restaurant on its opening episode, brought me here. A familiar local celebrity chose this as his pick of the many SF restaurants as his spot. Coming on a early afternoon in November after completing some errands, I waited at the host stand when a young lady offered me a choice of tables in the main dining room. I picked one in the middle area aside from the walkway to another dining room and was quickly given a menu. A short time later, my waiter came and took my drink order while I asked about some of the menu items. A short time later, he took my meal order while another staff member brought me a plate of bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil mix (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=W5Y9DN4_52xJPYi4ewuzOw). A short time later, my glass of iced tea (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=ZHhhxdyUBuSAgob4eeyzQg) arrived. It is not sweetened, just the way I like it, though it had a tropical fruity flavor. I started with the Caesar salad (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=KVdrsZU40-FS-g8-t2YTbQ), chopped romaine, shaved Grana Padano, anchovies, crispy garlic, Caesar dressing; this was generously plated and there is no shortage of flavor from the salad dressing to the anchovies and cheese forward topping. I liked that the romaine were crisp and crunchy. As recommended by my waiter, I tried the Pasta Della Casa (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=OcUThUADNufPjYido4uSyw), rigatoni, veal, prosciutto, mushroom, white wine sauce; on that TV episode, it was shared that this is one of their signature dishes from the previous business owner hence there is a notation of (Honorary) next to the dish name. I enjoyed this (you always have me when mushroom is an ingredient) as the rigatoni was al dente while the white wine sauce was lightly creamy and didn't overwhelm the other ingredients. The salad was very filling and I held back a little by only having one slice of bread. I brought more than half of the pasta and the remaining bread home for a future dinner. The dining room only had one other table of customers (2) when I arrived as a few more parties came in as I was finishing my meal. Big thanks to John W. who waited on me and packed my unfinished food. I look forward to returning and trying other menu items, perhaps the lasagna or the Bolognese next time. The prices are a bit higher than most casual restaurants in the neighborhood but the atmosphere definitely gives you a nostalgic feel of North Beach.

This bar was our second stop after wandering around SF, a bit indecisive about where to go next. The dining room and bar were bustling with couples, but luckily, we snagged two seats at the bar. Honestly, this place feels like a top spot for Tinder (or any dating app) meetups. The friendly bartender quickly set out two glasses and poured us water, but to my surprise, he also brought over champagne glasses. As we waited, he offered us a taste of champagne--such a thoughtful, complimentary touch! I can't recall exactly what we ordered, but my man's drink had Mezcal, while mine was something sweet and fruity. We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices. After a long time without dinner, I was absolutely craving French fries. The crinkle-cut fries arrived perfectly golden and salty. We also ordered the bone marrow--rich, savory, and buttery. Spread over toast, it was pure bliss. We enjoyed our second pub crawl stop so much that we vowed to come back for a full dinner.
