Both my dining companion and I remarked on it before we even sat down. The table layout is perfect to my way of the thinking. Then there's the color scheme, red and black--nice. The next thing that got my attention was the waitstaff. Two (young) woman handled the entire room by themselves (with a little help from the owner, but more on that later) and they never missed a beat. Not once did we have to wait for anything. It was like they had ESP. Every time I wanted to catch their attention, BOOM, one of 'em would look my way. This was a long way of saying the were, great, professional, and utterly charming. I can't give short shift to the food. It's what prompted me to write this review. We sampled the menu and had a few appetizers in lieu of a full dinner. They were all some of the best food I've had out in a very long time. We plan to go back soon to have the full dinner experience. Can't wait. Lastly, but certainly not least, the owner. Gracious, proud of his establishment (as he should be), pleasant, and an all around nice guy. He worked the room like the pro that he is. I know this review sounds like the owner wrote it himself. But I assure you I am a real customer. It's just that I was blown away by every aspect of the place. To quote a general from long ago: I shall return! P.S. A shout out to the bartender. Bean. Other small high end shops include Talbots, Paper Source, West Elm, Loft, Jared, Ethan Allen, and others. A few restaurants are in the complex including Seasons 52, Potbelly Sandwiches, Capital Grille, and my personal favorite Not Your Average Joe's. They have plenty of seating throughout the complex and tables and sidewalks in the middle of the parking areas. Some of the parking lot roadways are narrow and confusing (as Anrana S. has noted, very accurately), but overall it's a nice area. The problem I have is that there are so few places that I actually need to go. In Burlington you have so many shopping centers and places to choose from, this shopping center just seems lackluster in decent options than many of the others. Okay. I went into a store called Trolley Depot, which is your first stop for EVERYTHING in Salem. There are visitor info, clothing (hoodies and t-shirts), souvenirs, books, jewelry, great gifts, and collectibles. I came across Witch City Cartoons by Francis Sweeney and purchased one. They also sell water for $1.00. I'm sure you'll come across Essex street pedestrian mall when you walk around Salem, but definitely check it out if you don't.

The list of stores, restaurants and other entertainment in this shopping center include: Wegmans King's Bowling Redstone American Grill Tony C's Sports Bar & Grill Bedford Farms Ice Cream Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams The Shade Store Boston Interiors Dover Rug & Home Bancroft Restaurant David's Tea Osteria Nino 18 8 Fine Men's Salon XFINITY Kohler and many many more. When we were older, we used to hang out out back chug some beers play some music on the boombox and chill. let's just wind it up real fast to modern day Mystic mall it's more like a strip mall with the anchor being Market Basket but there are some other big stores, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, GNC, etc. etc. etc. I actually go to all the stores and all the restaurants it's not the same as back in the day but it's really convenient and believe it or not the prices at all the stores are pretty decent. It's a great mall even though it's all outside now. Worry about parking extensive parking so you might have to walk up along aisle from the other side of the lot, but you'll always have a spot. Lots and lots at this mall it was actually an inside mall anyways check it out. Great place to go.
