Both my dining companion and I remarked on it before we even sat down. The table layout is perfect to my way of the thinking. Then there's the color scheme, red and black--nice. The next thing that got my attention was the waitstaff. Two (young) woman handled the entire room by themselves (with a little help from the owner, but more on that later) and they never missed a beat. Not once did we have to wait for anything. It was like they had ESP. Every time I wanted to catch their attention, BOOM, one of 'em would look my way. This was a long way of saying the were, great, professional, and utterly charming. I can't give short shift to the food. It's what prompted me to write this review. We sampled the menu and had a few appetizers in lieu of a full dinner. They were all some of the best food I've had out in a very long time. We plan to go back soon to have the full dinner experience. Can't wait. Lastly, but certainly not least, the owner. Gracious, proud of his establishment (as he should be), pleasant, and an all around nice guy. He worked the room like the pro that he is. I know this review sounds like the owner wrote it himself. But I assure you I am a real customer. It's just that I was blown away by every aspect of the place. To quote a general from long ago: I shall return! P.S. A shout out to the bartender. He sure makes a mean drink.

Fun , unique way to spend an afternoon, will definitely go again, plan to be a regular.read more

I just remember growing up, we used to go apple picking down the street and we'd always stop by afterwards for some Chick-fil-A. The Chick-fil-A in Northshore Mall was one of the only locations that Massachusetts had at that point in time (I believe?) or at least the only one I had visited as a kid because the ones near me had not arrived yet. Northshore Mall is the only mall in MA to have a JCPenney now. Still a pretty lively & busy mall when I last visited about a week ago! As I walked through the mall, it felt a bit dated compared to the other malls (Natick, Burlington, etc). Very early 2000s kind of vibe with a mix of some popular stores you'd find at most shopping malls, along with a couple small businesses... they've even got a barber shop in here! Overall, I find that not much has changed at Northshore. Seems like an okay mall for quick, casual shopping. Nordstroms will be gone soon and replaced with a Dick's Sporting Goods. I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here, however, it was still nice to visit!

I went into a store called Trolley Depot, which is your first stop for EVERYTHING in Salem. There are visitor info, clothing (hoodies and t-shirts), souvenirs, books, jewelry, great gifts, and collectibles. I came across Witch City Cartoons by Francis Sweeney and purchased one. They also sell water for $1.00. I'm sure you'll come across Essex street pedestrian mall when you walk around Salem, but definitely check it out if you don't.

Perhaps more importantly, done one of the halls are bathrooms that are publicly accessible. They are kind of run down, and aren't vert sanitary, but at least for the guys to do #1, it does the job. The mall itself also isn't very flashy, and most if not all the stores seem tourist trappy, but the main parts of the mall seem clean and lit. All on one level with multiple entrances, I'm sure its probably wall to wall people during the September to October time frame, but the rest of year there's only a handful of people in the mall when I've been there.

My husband and I came here because my husband somehow lost his hoodie sweater after we shortly landed in Boston on Saturday morning. And because I have a few gift cards to Nordstrom, I figured might as well shop at either Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack to get him a new sweater or jacket. And this location was one of the locations near us (I have noticed that for some reason, whenever we are on vacation, my husband tends to forget to pack some clothing items and so we usually have to purchase these things for him when we are on vacation... and because I have so many gift cards to Nordstrom or have bonus notes that I have earned, I typically like to shop with this company so that I do not spend additional money). We came here yesterday afternoon. My husband was able to find a light weight North Face jacket and decided this was going to be his new jacket. There was short line at the register so the wait wasn't too long. The employee who rang us up was very nice. He was able to remove the sensor on the side of the jacket and we had asked if he could help cut off the tag. He pulled out the scissors and did that for us. Overall, our shopping trip was pretty positive and if I lived here, I would come back.

I found a few cute items that I was going to buy and was standing looking at some dresses on a rack, when one of the employees with a name tag that said MIA accosted me out of nowhere. She said, "Did you touch that dress?" She was pointing at a dress to my right on a different rack than the one I was looking at that was hanging half way off of the hanger. I responded no to her smiling and said thank you but I am not interested in that dress. Then she got very aggressive with me and said, "If you touched that dress and it's not hung up correctly then you should make sure you put it back right." I had no idea what she was talking about, I never looked at nor touched the dress. Then it occurred to me that she was implying that I was inconsiderate towards her, which was crazy since I didn't even do anything, but let's say hypothetically that I did. I have worked at numerous clothing stores and would never start yelling at a customer for not hanging up something correctly. I would just fix it because it was my job. Anyway, she continued to come after me with an intense look in her eyes and I was very uncomfortable, so I left the items I was going to buy and texted my husband to meet me at the front of the store. I told one of the employees at the front what happened and he just stared at me and said, "Ummm there's the manager." The manager he pointed to was an older man in a disheveled outfit and gruff demeanor, I think his name was Vincent, and when I told him what happened he said, "Well I wasn't there so I don't know who said what or what happened." I was absolutely shocked by his response. I was clearly shaken up and he made no effort to hear me or make me feel better. It was kind of shocking, I mean, this is the level of professionalism that Nordstrom Rack has with its leadership and customer service? It is a joke. At a minimum he should have apologized and attempted to make me feel better. I HAVE been a manager and I would have apologized to the customer, would have said I would speak to the employee, and that we value your support of our store. It's obvious Nordstrom Rack at this Danvers location could care less how they run the store (which is always a mess), or the people they hire. This was a hugely disappointing experience. My husband and I have always spent a lot of money there, but they have lost us as customers.
