What a lovely experience! These people could write a book on service! My daughter and her boyfriend were celebrating an anniversary and they were always wishing them happy anniversary and went out of their way to make them feel special. It was if they were the only guests! It was nice and small with welcome touches of great wine and cookies. They could not do enough for you.Food was outstanding as well. Hard to compete in wine country , but it was easy for them. Not a single complaint from anyone. Almost unheard of. Lol, would go back in a heartbeat! They are pet friendly too! I almost forgot the best part! You can walk to The French Laundry!!!

Greeted with a personal note and champagne on ice.

Where do I even start?! We stayed at North Block Hotel in Yountville, CA this July to celebrate my birthday and our 20th anniversary, and I truly wish I could give it more than five stars. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, genuine, and flawless. Tucked away at the end of Washington Street, the property feels peaceful and secluded yet is just steps from incredible restaurants, bakeries, and galleries. Check-in was seamless. Our bags were whisked to the room while we strolled through the perfectly manicured courtyard. Waiting inside: chilled champagne on ice and a handwritten welcome note for our special occasion, an unforgettable first impression. Our room was stunning: spacious, immaculate, and thoughtfully designed. A huge bathroom with rain shower, soaking tub (complete with candle and bath salts!), and double vanity. A comfortable bed, Nespresso machine with espresso cups, and the showstopper: double doors opening to a private patio with terracotta tiles, lush greenery, and a dreamy daybed. The service here is next level. Davis went above and beyond to set up our TV so we could watch the Formula 1 race. Carter, Javier, and Raphael were always ready with a smile, great tips, or a few extra Nespresso pods. Housekeeping was meticulous, with turndown service and little evening treats. The pool area was serene and sophisticated, with quiet guests, soft music, and plenty of loungers. Breakfast felt European: fresh fruit, flaky pastries, artisanal breads, yogurt, meats, cheeses, coffee, and mimosas. I also loved being able to pop into the lobby anytime for a complimentary glass of wine or champagne. And our two Italian Greyhounds? They were treated like VIPs .. with beds, bowls, toys, treats, and even chilled bottled water waiting for them. How sweet is that?! North Block exudes elegance and comfort without a hint of pretension. After a couple of stressful years, the combination of the staff's kindness and the hotel's peaceful atmosphere was truly restorative. Couples, solo travelers, and dog owners, this is your tranquil, upscale escape. We're already planning our return.

What a beautiful property with an amazing staff. The team does an incredible job of making you feel like you are visiting a dear family friend in the most beautiful setting. Heike and team have a wonderful mixture of service and passion that can only come with years of hospitality and event planning. A truly remarkable property that should be visited and cherished when visiting the Yountville area. PS they have the most amazing Homemade cookies in the valley.

Great restaurant! This was our first time here and we enjoyed everything about the experience. The decor is modern and very cozy. The service was prompt, courteous, and friendly. The food was way above par. Even for Yountville.

We were so excited to dine here tonight as an early Valentines Day celebration. The chef and support staff were amazing at tailoring to my allergy and they even made a special menu for us - so cute and special! Unfortunately we had countless awkward moments with our server to the point that really killed the ambiance and vibe of our dinner. It was so hard to understand him. Questions were not answered. I apologized several times to my husband for my choice in picking the place, and that was sad. We still tipped generously. Would love the opportunity to dine again but only if a guarantee of better service.

Wow, wow, and WOW! Went here for our anniversary and let me just say it was worth the drive. From Antioch area and wanted to celebrate with a great meal and atmosphere. Got a two for one for sure. Ended up starting with Happy Hour which is everyday from 3-6pm. We ordered the mushroom flatbread pizza (made with double zero flour) and the smash burger with house seasoned fries. Yummy and filling. Ingredients are fresh and carefully prepared. Also, Brenden who is a true mixologist whipped us up some espresso martini's (one with brandy and the other with Gin). Holy moly! We also had dinner reservations for the Valley Coast tasting menu and it was nothing short of chef inspired culinary creations. Chef Jaun Cabrera (my apologies if I misspelled) is the mastermind behind this menu and takes pride and joy out of what is being served. We were graced with Duke as our server who was nothing but attentive and detail-oriented as well as the new GM Jessica who went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was of a Royal experience. From the scallop, to the gnocchi, and sea bass to aged beef dish it was well thought out and flavorful. The whole dining staff made sure everything was cooked to perfection. I love great dining experiences and this was top 5. Dessert was whoa! Had the cheese plate called "fun" as well as the Tiramisu and lemon meringue. So good! We will be back in the future to experience more culinary delights and AMAZING SERVICE. Definite Recommend!!

Gotta share experience this week at local hangout, North Block. Greeted & seated quickly and met "Larry" immediately. Corked 2 for a party of four and everybody went with the Spring tasting menu at $90. So good! Strongly executed dishes from back of the house with choreographed perfection from the front w/o a feeling of pretentiousness. Highly recommend this beautiful spot!

The new cocktail program at North Block is amazing! On the left is the tea infused drink that is refreshing and well balanced.

Loving the late night vibe here at the reopened "The Restaurant" at the North Block. Open till mid-night, this is definitely a great spot for us to drink till we stumble home. The redesigned cocktails are amazing! The seafood platter with abalone, oysters and clams is a must order. Happy hour daily at 3 to 5 features $2 oysters. Late night menu starts at 10pm with wings (full disclosure have not tried it yet). My favorite cocktail so far is the sea martini: the presentation is gorgeous, you can add salmon roe to the drink on the side! The gin is infused with oyster shell. Out of this world 5 stars yumminess!

Enjoying Yountville, wine & appetizers, and people watching at outdoor tables! So welcoming here!
Kathy C.

With both a tasting menu as well as an a la carte, this restaurant has many choices. We come here often and like the courtyard and restaurant, but really prefer the front tables outside. We feel this fun spot epitomizes the Yountville vibe, upscale while still being welcoming and fun! The wine list is great, but the bartenders excel at drinks and the bar is lively most nights. Our favorites; the arancini, cacio e pepe and risotto. Bonus is the best negroni's in town!

When we arrived (early) our room was ready, SCORE, and we were greeted with Mumm Brut. Such a treat. Nick and Raymond were so helpful during our check in. Raymond remembered us from last year and that made the experience so much more personal. Also a shout out to the valet/bell hop staff. They are so fast, friendly, and helpful! Really appreciate them! The room was awesome! We had steam shower and an outdoor shower which was an upgrade from our room from last year. The fridge is stocked with water and Boylan cola if you need a pick me up. Love the spacious patio and his and her sinks. We spent the first day at the pool, which was very quiet and relaxing. The pool bar was closed but not an issue because you can just call the bar and they will bring you whatever you need. Also LOVE the pool top views. The grounds of this hotel are so serene, with art installations! Unfortunately, our precious Toby (fur baby) had a medical situation there and our stay was cut short. We had 3 nights planned and only got to stay 1. I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Raymond, the front office manager. You made our decision to leave an no brainer and we didn't have any stress about not staying the other 2 nights. We will forever be loyal to Bardessono, due to the love and care that was showed to us by you that morning while we were in distress. Also thank you to the staff who was there on the night shift for parking our car when we returned from the emergency vet at 3:30 AM. While we were sad to leave we most definitely are looking forward to the next time we come back.

I will say first, from what I saw of the hotel, it is nicely appointed and has great staff. I would consider coming back just to stay. Our lunch was also pretty nice. The service was rather slow, especially since we were one of two occupied tables for most of the time we were there (mid-week), but the food was very good and fresh/healthy feeling. Now, on to the spa. I chose the 80 min peptide lifting facial for $395. First of all, $395 is a price you might pay for a full service spa. This is not that. There is a tiny locker room with a closet sized sauna in it that could fit one or two people. There is one shower and a sink to clean up in. No other facilities. Second of all, the facial was nothing special to cost that much. I have better facials at home at my local salon, and usually pay less than $100. At the end of the facial the esthetician, who had just spent the last 75 mins cleaning all the gunk off my face and out of my pores, then proceeded to put a nasty tinted moisturizer all over my face! I asked her about it at the time, told her that I do not wear makeup of any kind, and even told her I was concerned about it getting on the collar of my light grey sweater. She just slathered it on. Told me if I didn't like it I could use a tissue to wipe it off! When I went to get dressed after my service I looked in the mirror and saw that I did in fact look like a tangerine. Thankfully I had some cleaning wipes in my bag, and was able to get it all off. So I basically wiped off $395 of facial in two minutes with a cheap drug store towelette. Great. So, basically, stay at the hotel or maybe trying out the restaurant, but avoid the spa!

Paying $400 a night for a pet fee is already absurd, and there was not even a water bowl for our dog in the room. The spa was closed, which was unfortunate. We expected a bit more thought and variety from a hotel of this caliber. The restaurant staff was pleasant, and we liked the room. But overall, the experience did not justify the cost, and we left feeling disappointed with the value.

Doorman immediately grabbed our things to bring to our rooms, there was complimentary champagne, cookies, and lots of snacks. This town is heavily known for their wine as well, so I noticed the wine "wall" as well as tasting is every day at 5pm. We decided to eat there right out the patio, I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken sandwich, it was more on the drier side but the fries came out hot with it, and the chips and veggies were good. The room itself was beautiful, it was so spacious, lots of extra goodies that you never knew you needed (sewing kit, hair ties, shaving, etc), and even a whole snack section that was complimentary. Spa is also available, I did the 50 min massage for $300, it was not worth it in my opinion, definitely had better. The place itself was just overall incredible, the breakfast is hard to miss, and I really love how it closed at 10am, pretty late allowing you to sleep in for a little. It has a variety of juices, fresh bakery items, fruit, and even someone to make omelette. This was an incredible hotel, and I would highly recommend staying the night here!

We went back after check in time and commented nobody text us and this lady working was much less friendly and said we only text you if your room is ready before booking- otherwise it will be ready at 4. The lodge was not very full- so it was hard to believe that there were no rooms ready earlier and if the policy is they don't take early check ins, just say that your room will be ready at 4, not let us think we are waiting for a text. When we got to our room it was a complete let down. There are a lot of room types, so do your research. We got a room with a fire place. It was December, we thought how nice to light a fire and enjoy a glass of wine at the end of the night- nope fire places are for show (I did go back and it states this in the reservation- but I missed it when booking). I also think the rooms with a view were not available, but we ended up with a balcony that was right next to another buildings roof. It was really too cold to sit outside, so that wasn't as much as a deal breaker as the fireplace this time of year, but we never stepped foot on the balcony. We were unpacking and getting settled and I could not warm up. I think it was after our dinner that my husband went to the bathroom and realized the bathroom window was open, which was why it was so cold in the room. We realized that was probably open because the room was always too hot or cold. We would toss covers on and off all night long & the mattress was way too hard for our liking... the room was a nice large size. The bathroom was clean but very dated. There were nice amenities like a shower cap, face wipes, spa shampoo & conditioner etc. I am assuming because it was off season the grounds were not all that tended too- there was moss growing in the bocce ball sets- the fountains needed painting- but the outside grounds looked like it would be very relaxing if the weather was warmer. The breakfast is nice- we would go into town and get Model or Bouchon and then eat fruit from the free breakfast. Our last afternoon- we had a few bottles of wine to drink and the staff working that day were so great- they set us up in the fireplace room and we just had a great afternoon drinking wine and chatting and was a great end to our trip- what we envisioned when booking a "lodge" in early December- cozy and relaxing. The lodge is at the farthest north end of town- it's close to a few restaurants but most things are a decent walk into town. When the sun was shining it was nice, but at night with the wind it felt far. I'm not sure if we will give this place a chance again. I wanted to give it 4 stars but there was just too much that was ok to tip it above a 3/5 rating.
