View from the main balcony with welcoming cheese plate and glasses of wine

Luxury accommodations at its finest. The Inn is gorgeous! We were greeted by the Inn keeper with wine and a cheese plate overlooking the valley from their balcony. After soaking in the ambience and enjoying our wine, we were showed to our room. Our room was spacious with a big balcony looking out to the valley. We had a huge bathroom with a soaker tub and outdoor shower with hammock area to enjoy outside. The Inn also has a pool and hot tub. When we were there it was like our own private pool. In fact for our visit, we didn't see any other guests the whole time we were there. Definitely a private, romantic place to stay. The Inn keepers are very helpful and assisted us with planning our stay in the valley including making reservations at wineries and offering recommendations well before we checked in to our stay. It was extremely wonderful service which helped make our stay even more special. Breakfasts are three courses of delicious food - great start to the day. Bread or baked goods from Bouchon bakery, oatmeal or yogurt, and then a hot dish like breakfast tacos or pancakes or waffles. Just amazing! This will be hard to top and we may very well have to stay here again on our next visit to Napa!

This property is UNBELIEVABLE. My fiance and I stayed here for one night over my birthday weekend, and we did not want to leave! Upon arrival at the inn, we were warmly greeted by Daniel (the innkeeper), who showed us over to the front veranda for a glass of wine and platter of delicious cheeses and olives. Daniel was extremely kind and friendly, and we felt instantly comfortable there. The inn overlooks the Napa Valley, and we sat admiring the gorgeous view of the vineyards for quite a bit before venturing up to our suite. It was hard to peel us away! Once upstairs, we were in awe. The room was absolutely incredible....very tastefully decorated and inviting. We stayed in the upstairs suite, which has all the amenities one could ever imagine in a luxury accomodation: Romantic wood-burning fireplace, wrap-around deck with cozy sitting areas overlooking the valley, large and comfortable living area, flat-screen tvs with surround sound throughout the suite, heated floors in the master bathroom, outdoor shower, guest bathroom, comfy robes and slippers, fully stocked complimentary mini bar, plush king-size bed that feels like sleeping on a cloud....the list goes on! You name it, they have it. Throughout our stay there, we felt like we were the only guests at the property....the privacy is hard to beat. We cat-napped at the pool in the early evening, and made our way back down to the hot tub after an excellent dinner at nearby Bouchon. In the morning, we were greeted with delicious mufins from Bouchon Bakery, coffee and orange juice in our room while deciding what we would order for our second and third breakfast course. Yes, you heard it right....a three course breakfast on our own private deck to start off our day. We had a hard time making our way back downstairs to check out. Everything was perfection. I could ramble on and on about our stay at the Poetry Inn, but to sum it up: By far the most wonderful place we have ever stayed! Thank you, Daniel, for the amazing weekend away. We are sure to return!

Sunset view from the Robert Frost Suite

After a fantastic weekend, we were supposed to head home on Sunday late afternoon. We were wine tasting at Cliff Lede and saw them advertising this place on a flat screen computer monitor. We asked about it and was told that it's gated and not really open to the public. However, given that it's Sunday afternoon, it might not be busy and we might be able to take a tour if we call ahead. After calling, Chris - the Innkeeper, invited us up. He showed us around the place, which is absolutely magnificent with a gorgeous view of the Napa Valley. The place used to be a Bed-and-Breakfast but has been renovated into something much more exclusive and high-end. It only has five rooms, with two being suites. Each room is perfectly furnished, with a balcony that looks into the valley. After telling Chris that we will be back one of these days, we got in the car to drive home. And then he turned to me and said "hey, why don't we spend the night here..." I got out of the car, walked back into the hotel and got us the Robert Frost suite. - Huge balcony to view the sunset - Huge comfortable bed - Huge sunken tub - Outdoor shower - Hammock in the back, right in the sun - Wood-burning fireplace - CD stereo system - iPod stereo system I can go on and on. The biggest selling point is the view. WOW. Next morning, we were treated to a three course breakfast. Given that the place only has five rooms, the personal attention is simply unmatched. This place is for the rich and famous. I pretended to be one for one night and will not forget that night for a long long time.

I recommend the reader staying elsewhere if you have any valuable items. My story below. We stayed at the Archer Hotel Napa mid December 2025. When departing the property, I left my Stetson cowboy hat in the room ($1K+). Realizing this the next day, I contacted the Archer Hotel who informed me that nothing was reported yet (with a promise for a follow up notice). After 3 weeks of silence, I reached out again and was told that staff had not found the hat in the room. I must point out that the hat was packed in a special-purpose large box; given the size, special packing, value, and nature of the item, it is inconceivable that it would have been discarded as trash. Evidently, it was stolen. I then escalated this issue to management who mostly ignored my requests (I can share various emails for those who care). I did learn that there is security footage but access or review of it was denied (and one would wonder why that was not done in December following my first call?). This makes it evident that management (GM Michael Pace and Director of Operations Patricia Wilson) prefer to turn a blind eye and as such indirectly approves of staff holding on to left-behind items of value. Again: this is theft. I am now left with filing a report with the Napa Police Department.

Unfortunately, this stay suggested otherwise. The most concerning issue occurred at 2:00 a.m., when the smoke alarm began chirping because of a low battery. After we called the front desk, a security guard arrived with a ladder but, instead of replacing the battery, removed the smoke alarm entirely, leaving our cottage without a functioning smoke alarm overnight. He also mentioned this happens often, which made the situation even more concerning. The next morning, despite having the Do Not Disturb light on and a 2:00 p.m. late checkout, housekeeping knocked on our door around 11:30 a.m. to clean the room. The room also showed the same maintenance and housekeeping issues we encountered on our previous visit: a broken lampshade, stained carpeting and furniture, and a folded "clean" towel with a crusted brown stain. Combined with the damaged bedding, stained furnishings, and patio umbrella from our first stay, our impression is that these are recurring issues rather than isolated oversights. That's especially disappointing because the public-facing aspects of the resort, including The Market and Farm, are excellent. Unfortunately, the accommodations did not reflect the standard we expect from a luxury resort. We won't be returning, especially with so many better-maintained options nearby.

Same goes for the wine tasting at their bar, which I was looking forward to but didn't end up trying because the property wasn't walkable during construction. Parking is uncovered but right out front, which was convenient. The lobby felt small and a bit awkward, likely due to the remodel. One thing I really missed was the 24/7 tea and coffee--they had it out on the patio for a while, but it disappeared, and I definitely noticed. Now for the good: the room was gorgeous! The tub was a dream and the bed was so comfortable, I slept better than I had in a while. I didn't check out the gym (if there even was one), but the hotel is right off the freeway and super close to everything you'd want to do in Napa. The staff was warm and friendly, which made a big difference. Overall, I did enjoy my stay.
