Plenty of parking, restrooms and a very nice Visitor Center with informative displays & a gift shop. Visitors can pick up maps, info and updates on what you could see in the refuge. The Staff is friendly & helpful. Kelvin is amazing, he does a drive through of the Park prior to his shift so he can give daily updates, there is a board listing his sightings. He is also an expert on the area and willing to take the time to discuss the refuge, and directions to other possible spots to visit. Birders, do not pass on the opportunity to speak to Kelvin if he is available. One of the best we have had the pleasure of speaking to on NWR Journey. Weather was dismal, but the Wildlife Drive was incredible, we did two days in a row & saw plenty of wildlife.

I would've preferred to go down south near the boardwalk to see all the casinos, but we had to head north and the water was very rough and rocky. But we laughed and had a good time. We were sitting right under a speaker and we're worried that it would be too loud, but in fact, it wasn't working and it was pretty hard to hear the person narrating however, we'd like to where we were sitting so we stayed.

I think this beach is one of the cleanest and quietest beaches I've been on in NJ. You can spend the entire day here just relaxing. Free parking on the streets. More worried about chatting with friends putting sweatpants on and off and fixing hair than worrying about the kid with a 6' hard surfboard not foam with three fins on the bottom riding through the shallow water where all the smaller kids are. We shouldn't have to tell a lifeguard how to do their job they are supposed to be competent if you haven't noticed the surfboard directly in front of your stand banging into little kids. I dont fell you are remotely close to noticing someone drowning or in need of assistance. Piss poor example of a lifeguard.
