My partner and I stayed here last week and found the accommodations perfect for our needs. When we arrived, we easily picked up the keys found a clean and cozy room waiting for us. The facilities were all well maintained and the shared bathrooms clean and available whenever we needed them. Our stay was upstairs in room number 11, and while we might have chosen a larger room upstairs if available, the mattresses were comfy and toiletries/clean towels were provided. We would recommend BRI for anybody looking to hike into N. Cascades NP from Marblemount. read more

I'd like to give it a 0 if it were possible. We arrived here excited, as it looks great from the outside. However, we got inside and found two bathrooms shared between 5 rooms. This may as well be a Hostel, and for the price we paid, this is an utter ripoff. The room itself is tiny with three twin beds scattered around clearly meant for children. None of this was ever mentioned before hand, as scams typically go. This place is nothing more than a scam operation- a hostel masquerading as an "Inn". Do not spend a single cent here if you have any semblance or expectation of privacy or space. Or even a bed bigger than a twin. Utterly disgraceful. Disgusting scam. read more

We found this place so cute and cozy! It's exactly what we needed for one night to see the national park. It's very homey and i love the vibe. We stayed in the eagle room with its own bathroom and we probably could've done with the bathroom down the hall situation. Good fan to run at night. Overall satisfied. One thing to mention is that the walls are thin so you can hear loud talking or someone blowing their nose. But we live in an apartment so this didn't bother us! Cheers! read more

One step above camping, 2 steps below glamping. There are no other places to stay in this area so if you are unlucky to get one of the upstairs rooms here, be prepared to suffer. As a family of four, each room sleeps two people so we needed to spend $250 per night for two people in order to be here. This is not a $500+ per night place. Yet here we are. There is one bathroom shared between six rooms upstairs and no sign asking people to be polite and limit the time is in the bathroom. 9 o'clock at night someone's in the bathroom for 45 minutes and get ready for bed. That's a long time for everyone else to wait No one is here to check you in and I won't tell you where the keys are stored because I don't want the safety of the poor guests who stay here next. I hit my leg and toes on the foot of the bed three times and I had to move the chair and so I stopped hitting my foot. However it happened again. AC in the common room, but only fans in the bedroom room upstairs. The room is boiling hot. Update/ open windows to cook the room at night. There's no other way. Then spend all night being to hot/ to cold. Better than hot all night like kids who slept worse. We were room 15. The headboard less room of bruised toes and feet There is a secret 2nd unlabeled bathroom upstairs. Seriously how hard it is to put a sign up? There are so many signs about towels. This was perfect for what we needed - a place to sleep after the drive in from Seattle, in close proximity to North Cascades National Park. I never received the check in instructions that were supposed to be texted so I called the number and they were able to help. There is no staffed lobby but that is clearly stated on the website. We had the Bison #2 room. It was much bigger than it looks in the pictures. There's a small table with two chairs, place to hang clothes, a dresser, and coffee bar area. The fridge was stocked with free snacks and waters which was a very nice touch especially since most places in the area close at 8 pm. The room was impeccably clean except for a soap wrapper that was left in the bathtub. Soft towels, nice toilet paper, functional WiFi, comfortable bed... couldn't ask for more. Would definitely recommend a stay here especially if you are looking for proximity to the park. read more

This motel was comfortable enough, and the location was excellent -- as close to the National Park as you can be on the west side. On the other hand, there is only one place in Marblemount that serves breakfast and that place, the Marblemount Diner, is open for breakfast only Saturdays and Sundays. A local eatery called Glacier serves breakfast but their service is haphazard; for a good breakfast you have to go to Concrete. Our biggest gripe is that our room was TINY -- just barely enough room for the bed, with no dresser drawers and barely room to hang clothes. Despite the advertised microwave there was none, so we had to use the microwave in the closed common area. The Inn is under new management and I assume our room was assigned by the former manager -- I just suggest you make sure that you are not being assigned to Room 1 (I was able to peek at some of the other rooms and their size was perfectly adequate. read more

We stayed in Room 3 which was large, clean and comfortable with a small kitchenette- perfect for road tripping! We ate dinner across the street at the Taproom (and got a discount!) and took advantage of the coffee maker and complimentary oatmeal packets in the morning before heading into North Cascades NP. There was a clean and cozy common area at the front of the house, but we didn't take advantage of it- if we had stayed another night, I definitely would have! The only downside was the weird aspect ratio on the TV that we couldn't figure out a fix for- but really nbd! Unfortunately in the morning the espresso shop next door was closed (Tuesdays and Wednesdays!) but the minimart (also next door) had coffee and hot cocoa. read more

I love this little hotel. We stayed in the wolf themed room and it was super cozy. They offer complimentary snacks and even give you a real key like the good ole days. The room was very clean and more spacious than the photos make them appear. Would book again. read more

I didn't get a chance to stay here so I cant speak to the quality of the rooms or service but please read on. The parking lot for this establishment has signs posted saying it is for their establishment only. These signs are clearly posted and I saw them. We parked to give our dog some water and we were looking for a place to eat after we were done. I was going to go across the street to see this restaurant but before I could leave my vehicle an older man came around the corner and told me it was not public parking and that I would be towed. He told me it was parking for his restaurant only. I told him I saw the signs and asked him if his resturaunt had seating for a party of eight. He said he was sure there was because they have seating for 100 and was very rude about it. Because of the way he treated me I decided to move my vehicle and eat somewhere else. Once I moved my vehicle and I was walking past the Buffalo Run Inn the man proceeded to start a confrontation with me. He told me that I needed to go back to school and learn to read, that I was a Democrat (using this as a insult), that there was a Korean place across the street that would better fit me, and that he was going to punch me in the face. I can not say that I was completely calm and did not return some choice words to him but he was very out of line. I do not recommend this place unless you want to worry about a racist, violent, angry owner/employee (I didnt ask how it was "his place") confronting and threatening you if you dont run directly from your car to their front door upon parking. read more

Never had the chance to stay here. Something came up and I had to cancel. My bad, I did not read the policy carefully about only cancelling by email. I called a week ahead and left a message regarding my need to cancel. Heard nothing, so called back. The women on the phone was pretty rude, telling me I can't call this number to cancel, letting me know that this is also the restaurant number. I said OK and sent an email canceling. Alas it was too late and the owner began a series of email exchanges berating me. I let him know that I understood the email only policy but questioned his commitment to customer service (such as returning a telephone call a week prior). I told him I would be going on Yelp and his response was: "Dr. Patrick, don't forget writing Yelp reviews works both ways! I would hate to think that you were a doctor who thought he was too smart to read the policies and wouldn't own up to his own mistakes! Your customers might find this information very interesting! We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. It was very clean, quaint, and a great location. Check in was easy, and the housekeeping each day did a great job. The location to North Cascades was so convenient for us to get started on our hikes early, then we could walk to dinner in the afternoons from the hotel. Good value for the price. A friend and I stayed here overnight on a short bicycle trip along the Skagit River, and rolled up a couple of hours before check in. We asked if we could store our bags so we could do a little riding around the area until check in, and they went ahead and let us check in early. We had one of the upstairs "hostel" rooms, with 3 twin beds. I could see the fit being tight had there been 3 of us, but it was clean and comfortable. This room does face the highway so truck traffic can be noisy, but there's very little noise overnight - was super quiet once traffic died down. The upstairs has 5 rooms that share 2 bathrooms, which was fine for our purposes. They were very clean. There is a microwave and small refrigerator in the common area - the only thing missing is that it would have been useful to have a few mugs around for heating water, but maybe that's not something people feel comfortable with during the ongoing pandemic. This is an older building, stairs are the only way up to the hostel rooms. Bike storage is available. Would definitely stay here again and it would be a fine base camp for hikers/camper/bicyclists to explore nearby areas. read more

What a great place!!! It was sparkling clean and updated for a place built in the 1800's ( I wonder if there's any ghosts, it must have quite a history ) After a busy day, I soaked in the bubbler tub, then relaxed with the most comfortable bed and pillows and watched TV. The next morning I went to have breakfast and what a selection, I am a picky eater and I found plenty to eat. The room was beautiful with original oil paintings and a lovely tile picture from Portugal in the bathroom. I would definitely come back!! read more

We stayed here in June 2022 on a motorcycle trip to Canada and Alaska. The motel is an older building that has been refurbished. Each room has a theme, mine was the Moose. We really enjoyed the place. Bathroom was in great shape, shower was enjoyable. They had an issue with their kitchen, so no breakfast. But there's a nice little coffee drive thru next door that has good coffee and some pastries. I'd stay there again. read more

This place looks sketchy AF from the outside. I had absolutely no faith. The check in process was accommodating, but not necessarily reassuring. There are absolutely no other options in this park. The room we booked was functional, comfortable, and clean. The location was convenient for us, as we visited North Cascades National Park (NCNP). There are two gas stations nearby for gas, quick food, snacks, beer, wine and more; a couple restaurants; and a coffee shop -- everything within walking distance. If you want delicious Korean food, it's only 20 miles away. The inn has a small kitchen for quick and easy breakfast. It is nothing fancy but does the job! Overall, we enjoyed our stay there and would lodge there again when visiting NCNP... I was hoping to meet Marshall after reading his hilarious responses to his Yelpers. I didn't even stay here. I parked out front to quickly fill up my tire that, for some reason, was too low to drive on. Within 2 minutes I was told to vacate the property and I could fill up my tire down the street. Great hospitality. read more

Spent one night here and everything was just fine. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Rooms upstairs have a shared bathroom but that worked out fine. If you're looking for luxury this isn't your place but it's a good value. Great location to stay for visiting the national park. I would stay here again. read more

Coming down from backpacking in the NCNP, this place was really refreshing. It looks divey from the outside, but is really turned around once you go inside. You can tell the owners have done a lot with the place. New carpet and paint and just the overall interior. It looks really nice - and perfect after a night in the woods. Why 4 stars and not 5? The breakfast. Instructions of "breakfast is in the fridge" is a little off-putting. How long has all this stuff been in here? is half of it expired? And look inside the freezer and it's even more jam packed of all the processed food...but go for the hardboiled eggs and day old expired milk if you dare...well we ate it and didn't get sick :) Good luck! The price is great - $89 - for the room, but don't go for the "continental breakfast". You might be better off finding some else where! read more

Coffee and gas station right next door, great burgers across the street...and other dining options within walking distance that were getting ready to reopen after COVID shutdowns/season opening. We didn't get a chance to stay there. We made reservations on June 3, 2020 for June 06,2020. We have been to Marblemount many times since the late eighties as we have family there present and past. Beautiful place to visit. This time we thought we would stay at the Buffalo Run Inn. We reserved to rooms to the total cost of 307.20 which we felt was to badly priced. We headed out of town early in the morning of June 6,2020 even though we knew check in wasn't until 3:00pm after all we had family we were going to visit while there. At 3:00 pm we arrived at the Inn but no one was there. There were no lights on, nothing to show that they were even open. In the window it had a sign that said if you have problems with your reservations please call this number, there were two numbers, we tried both numbers with no one answering, we left voice mails for them to call us back but we go no response. My son also tried calling several time with no response. We waited there for over 30 minutes but nothing. My husband and son walked over to their restaurant looking for information but found nothing. We go lucky and were able to secure a two bedroom cabin at Clarks Cabins for half the price we paid to stay at then Inn, all the while waiting for a call back regarding our reservations but heard nothing. We go home late Sunday evening only to find an email that was sent at 10:30 Saturday Morning the 6th the day of our reservations with specials instructions on how to get into our rooms. My husband again tried to contact them via phone on Monday, we heard nothing from them. We then replied to their email and was informed we would not get a refund because they has a 418 hour cancelation policy. WE DID NOT CANCEL, we had no way of accessing the rooms. in the email they sent said there would be a white envelope on the door with our name on it and our receipt and where to fine the keys. There was nothing on the door. Don't stay there unless you want to throw your money away. read more

To be completely honest, we didn't stay here. My review is really about the rudeness of the owners. I had reserved two rooms for my elderly (80 and 90 yo) relatives in September. I wasn't sure if this would be the right place for them, so my wife and I called on a Saturday a month ago, and asked if we could come to see the rooms the next day. The person on the phone wasn't happy about it, she agreed that we could come between 2-3 the next day before the checkin's that day. We arrived about 1:30- and went to their restaurant across the road because they don't have an office at the inn, so followed their instructions. The woman at the restaurant (not sure if the same person as on the phone), denied that we ever called and said she was too busy. She was probably the rudest business owner/manager that I have ever encountered. We agreed that we were a little early and would stay and have lunch at their restaurant so we would get closer to 2:30 when they said (the day before) would be a good time. At 2:30, we went back to the woman (after purchasing lunch and being a direct customer that day), where she promptly told us - NO, the people had been checked into the room and we couldn't see it. My friends who work in this area, and frequent Marblemount had previously told us that these owners were not very friendly. In spite of that warning, we figured we would try. The problem with Marblemount is that it doesn't have any other options, and this is the closest commercial lodging to the National park. I'm sure the place is clean - but I would drive hours in either direction before I would consider giving them our business. We did cancel the reservations based on them telling us that we could come and look (a 2.5 hour drive in each direction for us), and then not honoring our request once we arrived. I've never heard of a hotel that would not show you the room before you stayed there... Not nice people. read more

Very interesting. The website is not very clear as to the setup so here's some clarification: It is a shared space. You rent a small room that is adjacent to all other rooms with only shared bathrooms. Exactly like renting a room in a house. It was very clean and well kept but I was very disappointed at the misleading information. I was expecting a typical motel/hotel setup and wish I had known this floor plan before spending hard earned money for a system that I already have to live in everyday. The WI-FI was horrible (which was mentioned to us) but made it that much harder to locate a different lodging option. My point is do your research because it will not be made clear until it is too late. read more

We stayed here in Feb and in May of 2013 both times we stayed we felt so welcomed by the owners and the town is quite charming. The Buffalo Run Inn has many new updates, it gave us comfort away from home after a long day out in the mountains hiking all day and the bed is so....comfortable had the most relaxing sleep. We stayed for 4 nights in May and the house keeper was a delight and the owner also checked to make sure we had everything we needed. My husband and I enjoy the outdoors in the Cascade Mts but to have the comforts of home so far away from home this is now the only place we will stay when we are in the area. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE! I stayed in room number two a bison themed room. The art on the walls gave it a more personal touch, it was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The decorations throughout were tasteful and the owner is super friendly and it's nice to see him and his wife be active parts of the crew. Breakfast is self-serve and the options seemed endless, it was nice not eating the same thing every day. I have no doubt this will not be the last time I visit, overall highly recommend. read more

I've never been treated worse by a hotel staff in my life. It was like they didn't want me there at all. I would never, ever come back here, either to the hotel, or the restaurant. They will give you crappy little rooms with a few twin beds in them and they will nearly threaten you with a warning that you better not touch the other beds in the room or they will charge you for it. Personally, I think it's hilarious that the owner is still claiming that we tried to use a "bogus" credit card number. If that's true, then why didn't they call to let us know? Why did we receive an email confirming our reservation? Why didn't the owner tell me they "ran the credit card three times to no avail" when I spoke to him on the phone TWICE that day? He knew we were arriving at 10:45pm, so he should have told us that our card didn't work. Both of the owners kept defending their refusal to let us in, "just in case we didn't show up". He knew exactly when we were arriving, and never said there was a problem. Also, in no way did they try to mediate the situation, i.e. run another credit card. He just left us on the street, and we had to drive around for 2 hours looking for a place to stay. We almost slept in the car on the side of the road! It was ridiculous, and I doubt we're the only people this will happen to. That's why I feel it's important to warn others about our experience. The owner's response shows no remorse or regret about his actions, and he continues to justify them based on this supposed "bogus" credit card (which we both checked 3 times before making our reservation). This is DEFINITELY not what I call customer service! read more

I would have given this place a 4 or 5 stars had it not been for the rudeness of the owner and the staff. Upon arrival, we were greeted very amicably by an owner who appeared very relaxed and chill. The place is very quaint and the food was delicious. However, upon our check out the following morning, we sat in the lobby of the Inn to make a phonecall, since no phone service apart from Verizon works at the Cascades. We were abruptly interupted by an angry and scary housekeeper who basically told us we had to clear out from the building. As it appears, the owner spotted us sitting in the lobby on one of his TWELVE hidden cameras placed in the space the size of an average living room. Were there any cameras in our bedroom?! We stayed here for 3 nights this past June and had no problems. I thought our room was nice, clean, and everything seemed new. Things that I had a problem with were, cameras everywhere (I felt like the owners were at home watching us), their free breakfast sucked (stay away from it and hit up Mondos for a breakfast sandwich and the expresso hut for coffee), and all though I did not have a problem with the owners in connection to the Inn, I did have a run in with one of the owners at the restaurant and I can see where all the negative reviews are coming from. I do not think I will stay here again because if we came back to this area we would stay at Ross Lake. read more
