After a day trip to Manistee we needed a break and decided on NCB and we were happy we did. The restaurant is open and spacious and great for a large party, the drinks were large and the Rueben was excellent. Very satisfied with our experience. read more

This place is easy to find and has convenient parking right across the street. Tables are properly distanced and employees are wearing masks. Currently, Ordering takes place in a central location, which is marked out for distance. The beers are good! The beer cheese soup was also delicious! read more

Meh. Probably wouldn't go again. Food was mediocre. Service was pretty poor for a late lunch on a Thursday (arrived at 1pm). The server at first was attentive but then I asked questions and he seemed super annoyed with me. He got 2 big table after we had food and he did not check on us at all. All drinks were empty and plates were stacked up and we still didn't get our check until 20 minutes later I stood up and went to the bar for it. I am gluten free and there were reviews mentioning dedicated fryer. This is not true. I got a burger without a bun. Asked for no fries or chips (cross contamination is high). Food came out with chips even though we confirmed twice they would not need chips at all. By that point we waited so long for food I just took it as is. And will probably regret that choice later. Boyfriend also asked for lettuce tomato on the side of his burger and they did not honor that request. Not sure if that's the kitchen or waiter not relaying the information. Also chips came out cold. They took the time to cut fresh chips, I would assume they would be warm. Boyfriend said they weren't great and almost felt like he got the last batch of the previous lunch rush. I didn't eat mine but they didn't look super appealing anyways. The only bright side was a cider flight. It's an interesting concept where they mix their base cider with different flavor syrups? Just drove in from out of town and thought this restaurant looked pretty cool, so we were excited to give it a try. We got our food to go and if I had been in the restaurant I would have sent it back and walked out. It was that bad. I ordered the NCB bowl which was basically a huge pile of rice with some pork on top that had a lot of smoke on it and a can of black beans. There was supposed to be zesty pico de Gallo, creamy Vermont cheddar and green scallions on it. Don't know what happened to that. My boyfriend got the chicken Caesar. There's no dressing on the chicken with a bit of dressing on the lettuce, but chicken is dry as a bone. (And no ketchup for the fries ) Won't be going back. And to update. When we asked about the open tables, the hostess said they were holding the larger tables in case big parties came in and they had no smaller tables. We asked about outside seating - 4-6 open 4 top tables outside but were told those were also on a waitlist. We left and went elsewhere. read more

We went for anniversary weekend. Service was quick and responsive! Love the onion ring tower! Had their beer flight special which was really good and fun to taste them all and some cocktails within our group that seemed like they liked. Tim Krause's live music was a hit! Soda was flat. Waitress was slow and unresponsive to issues. When we asked about the regular menu instead of the brunch menu, we were told appetizers were available but not offered an appetizer menu. The chicken and waffles were such a small serving I left hungry. My son's birthday was ruined by such a poor lunch experience. He ordered nachos and they arrived with sour cream all over them and beans inside everywhere. He didn't eat them, the waitress did not apologize nor try at all to make anything right. Rest assured, we will never return and my business will never send anyone here ever again. You are now black listed from my perspective. Your menu should actually state what is available and should accurately describe contents and portion sizes of your food. Chicken and waffles should not be a small portion size. Terrible. read more

We have had two positive experiences at North Channel Brewing. The Nachos, Mac-n-cheese, and Santa Fe salad, and pickle chips were delicious. The bartender and hostess were polite and knowledgeable about their restaurant and what they had to offer for new customers. Another plus was the fact they were open later than other places in Manistee, and even when we showed up at 9:30 pm for a late to-go order, they were kind and helpful. Posters are everywhere to remind you that you need to have a mask when you're up & about, & the staff are using their mask properly. We came here on our way back home from camping. Used our hop passport. We got Oktoberfest & Cherry Lime Blue raspberry seltzer/sider. Food, especially the Pulled Choice was good. We ordered Chicken wings in bacon jam & beer cheese soup. The presentation was good. It's not your typical bar food stashed in red plastic mesh basket. They use metal trays. The whole interior is cozy. They have tall tables, regular tables & booths. They even have pinball machine & darts in the back too. They have couple board games to choose from. Restroom is clean. That's always the give away for me. Ok, I've been here three times, I've had one hit and two misses. A quick bottom line, this place should sell beer only and get food trucks put in the parking lot. The first time I was here I had the ribs. Horrible, actually beyond horrible. They tasted as if they were previous frozen from the previous day and reheated. When I brought it up, the waitress kinda just smiled and dogged the issue. A big miss, but great beer. The second time I was here I had the brisket tacos, wow they were excellent, and again great beer. And now there is today. I shoulda stayed home. I ordered the brat. I came Luke warm in a cold bun, yes not room temperature, but cold. The potato chips were just starting to go stale. The food sounded so good so we were excited to give it a try. The server was super nice and friendly but a little slow. Our food took forever. People who came in after us got their food before us. We had to ask for silverware and plates to eat our appetizers. When our main course finally came the food was disappointing. The fries were cold and hard, the brisket was gross, and the Mac and cheese was bland. The only thing that was good was the walleye.
