Not a bad thing to say - pleasantly surprised by the service, food, and atmosphere. Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 130pm in July with 3 other women for a late lunch. Not very busy but had some golfers from across the street. bartender was the waitress and she was fast and attentive. The food was good - everything you'd expect from a local burger bar. They didn't have an olive burger on the menu but were able to customize one for two of us. The other two had a burrito and a sub and both enjoyed them. Fried cauliflower were good, too. We were celebrating a birthday on our girl's weekend so the bartender got her a free shot, which was nice. Everything was clean and surprised at the amount of natural light. The outside is a little deceiving of the inside! Definitely would stop in again. read more

Such a great place. Grew up eating there. 32 years later went back and it was absolutely everything I remembered.

Fun atmosphere and good food! We have tried the burgers, perch and nachos all good. Nice quiet drive to get there.

Was much better before they changed it around and changed the menu. It wasn't near as good as it used to be ambience near a bar at a restaurant now. read more

We have had dinner at this place a few times and used to love the food here. But the last few times have really put us off. Tonight's was the final straw. They advertise for one thing but rudely correct you when you ask for it. The wait staff is not attentive. They forgot my drink then disappeared for a long time in which we had to flag her down to ask for it. The food took a long time to come out and was missing parts of it as was cold. Then to make it worse, the Mac and cheese gets you sick. You do not get your money's worth. I would not recommend this place. read more

Great place for a meal, or just a beer. Kid friendly restaurant located on the North end of Loon Lake in Irons. Great homemade potato salad that you can buy by the pint, or quart. The only downer was the house salad that was served on a saucer. They did not charge us for the salad since it was the smallest that I have ever been served. Overall, this is a good family restaurant that also has a bar. My wife and I were there daily while renting a cottage on Loon Lake, and we will be back. FYI: FREE WIFI read more

The woman working started out by appearing annoted we came in. She had 5 people on one side of the bar 2 on the other. We wanted a table. Had to get my own menus. It then took her a while to come over and she didn't even greet us asked what we wanted to order. We had a hot ham and cheese, a frozen burger and a frozen chicken patty. The pretzel had the taste of freezer burn and the chips and cheese were stale. $65 later. What a waste and disappointment. There are hardly any restaurants within miles the service should stand out. Very good service, which was quick and the waitress was ready to help. The food is good, not great, but we had no complaints. Pretty good draft beer list too. Founders on tap which was fresh and cold! Stopping by again on our next fishing trip. read more

While visiting friends in the area we went to Na Tah Ka for dinner. It appeared to be a local watering hole/ bar. We ordered lunch which was walleye. It was fantastic! The service was great and the adult beverages were nice and cold. I would highly recommend this place as a great and affordable place to eat. It is also family friendly. read more

This was my first time here when 5 of us stopped in for dinner. Though pretty busy around 7 pm on a Saturday, there was a round table available, which was perfect for us to talk facing each other. I can't speak for the others, but also didn't hear any complaints about the food or anything else. The waitress was very attentive and even seemed to enjoy taking care of us. In fact, most everyone in there seemed to be in a good mood. We all enjoyed ourselves and my walleye dinner was outstanding and fairly priced. SO ANGRY! Should be 5 stars but they changed their Signature Sandwich the "Na-Tah-Ka Burger" so I am taking it to 3 stars because when you have been going to a restaurant since childhood and know the taste, texture and form of a menu item (especially a signature item) you do not want to have the disappointment of the burger type and size being changed as well as the bun. If they had just cut the burger down to 1/4 pound and kept the bun, type of burger(not sure if it is chuck/round etc)...but it is NOT the same as it was for years. This changes the taste and texture of the sandwich. It's almost tear inducing crushing disappointment. I would GLADLY pay an extra dollar or two for the "ORIGINAL" Na-Tah-Ka Burger. Now don't get me wrong, the new burger isn't bad, it is good, it's just not the same. And if you never had the original you would probably think it's spectacular. Otherwise the food is great, service is good and atmosphere is more restaurant than bar. read more

My friends and I went to Katanas on four consecutive nights this past week. We all had a good time, the food was good and the staff was friendly. Our meals were surprisingly good for what we expected to be a bar-like menu. I would classify Nakana as a restaurant first, bar second. During dinner hours they are pretty packed, whereas at night it is much more sparse. The food was brought quickly and everything met or exceeded our expectations for the price. Very impressed with the pizzas. We ordered them multiple nights. The Takananakah staff was friendly if a bit uncouth and occasionally they would give you a t**ty twister if you tried to walk outside with your drink. What can you do? They have a very nice pool table. Probably the best I ever played on at a bar. The jukebox was a ripoff, though. Not many songs could be had for 1 credit, so it could be $5 for 6 songs if they were 2 credits each. Not great. It didn't stop me because I need to hear some Country Roads when I'm up north at a bar. I took my shirt off and apparently that is frowned upon at Tanakas. Overall we had a great time. read more

Very disappointed, again! Memorial Day weekend we knew the wait for food was going to be long. The waitress said 45 minutes to an hour we said no problem we wanted to relax first anyway. Ordered a bottle of wine and settled in for a wait. And a wait we had!! Friends came in after us, we chatted with them for a long time then they were gone. Their pizza had been brought out they ate and left. Several other tables in the bar side came in after us and were eating when we left TWO hours later, still with no food! Sunday July 7, 2019 Went in, sat on dining room side, again. Waited over an hour for food that never showed up. And again several tables came in after us and they were eating when we left. Waitress's comment was well I'm not those tables waitress maybe their waitress got their orders in before I put yours in!!! I think she held it hoping we would keep ordering beer!!! Very saddened by this experience again! We were there two weeks prior and all was great, even though we said we would not go back after first two hour wait experience. This time I'm afraid there will be no more going back! And we usually have a big crowd with us. read more

What a nice hidden gem we happened upon today! This establishment was clean, bright, seemed newly updated with decor, and the food was truly delicious. I had the Smothered Chicken meal with a side of fresh steamed veggies (keto friendly), and my husband had the perch- all very good. The sweet waitress Angel was very attentive too. The French Dip is by far the best I have ever eaten. It hasn't changed from the day they started it and I hope it never does!
