YIKES! Super bummed to have been treated so poorly. When you think small coastal town with a…read moretourist attraction like a scenic train depot stop, you think friendly, quaint, happy to support small business - well, I do at least! Our family did the Oregon Coast Scenic train from Rockaway Beach to Girbaldi. The layover in Girbaldi was very short, 25 mins, and we were looking to grab a quick bite and water. The conductor suggested the Girbaldi Bay Market. The markets 'deli' was closed (it was 330p) but had pre-made sandwiches to choose from. The slender, short, light brown haired lady at the register came over asking if we needed help, we asked about the made to order sandwiches and were told only the pre-made ones were available. Ok, fine. Then asked about the advertised fried chicken, that was also not available. Alright. So then one would assume there was nothing more to 'help' us with. We say thank you and carry on. As we are sorting thru the medicore selections, the lady is standing there staring at us with her scanner in hand with an obviously annoyed look on her face, LIT.ER.AL.LY rolls her eyes, whispers something negative to the other cashier and goes back to her sheets of barcodes. I apologize for not knowing what we wanted and she just stares at me as if I was inconveinencing her by bringing her business. I don't want to assume this treatment is reserved for 'outsiders' or those with more melanin but it makes you wonder. Having a heavy service industry background I'm always taken aback when confronted with unprovoked rudeness. I can't speak for the rest of this small town but I would recommend getting your liquor, deli, small market needs at the next gas station (Cheveron) or better yet - just blow through this dying town altogether.

Super cute little store right across from the Tolovana Inn…read more Being from a small town, I can appreciate how well stocked their shelves were with both essentials and non-essentials. The walk-in beer cooler is accessible from both sides of the store and the selection of beer, cider, and wine was extraordinary! They had a variety of local and non-local, and all price points so you definitely have options depending on your mood. There were a ton of produce and fresh food options that I saw as well, even though we didn't purchase anything from those. I never caught the cashier's name, but she was a shorter, dark haired lady and was so so nice! She talked to me about my wine option and reassured my choice was a good one! Definitely recommend stopping here whether you're passing through, camping, or enjoying a beach getaway!

I appreciate having an occasional glass of wine, and expect that it's difficult to find a quality wine selection in a small town that probably depends very heavily upon the tourist trade. Frankly, most towns known for heavy tourist traffic usually don't do well when it comes to what they stock in wines -- they usually aren't that impressive. I was truly shocked to see an excellent selection of highly-rated wines, especially for domestic Cabernet Sauvignon. If you enjoy having an excellent wine, this is the place to find it.

#THANKYOUTHURSDAY On…read morethe way home from our Cannon Beach overnight trip last weekend, we decided to swing through the Seaside Outlets. I mean, what kind of Washingtonian are you if you don't stop at at least ONE outlet mall? No tax, people... We mainly came to the outlets for Nike, Bath & Body Works, and Carter's. Being wine & beer lovers though, the name of this spot intrigued us. We were pleased to not find anybody else in the store except for the older gentleman working. The store is laid out nicely and is spacious. They've definitely got more wine than they do beer, but they've got a lot of both. The wine selection is phenomenal. So much! They've got wines from Oregon, California, and Washington. So many different kinds. I had a blast looking over all the different bottles and making my selections. My husband was also really happy with the beer offerings here. If you want to enjoy something in the store, you're able to do so. They have both wine & beer on tap available for consumption in the store. I didn't get the gentleman's name who was working, but he was so sweet and so helpful. I was having troubles picking between a few certain wines, and he helped make my decision and it was clear he was super passionate and knowledgeable about the products. Going further on that, he noticed my husband's beer selections and suggested a handful of other beers for him based off of the flavors he seemed to like - aka, we bought more beer than my husband intended ;) Even after grabbing two bottles of wine, and quiiite a bit of beer, after discount we only spent $60! There was a discount for a certain amount of cans (15% off for 8 I believe) and on the wines I snagged apparently too, which saved us $12. Highly recommend stopping by The Wine & Beer Haus if wine and beer is your jam. Outside of the wine & beer we got, the service was spectacular and I can only hope all the employees who work here are like the older gentleman who helped us out the day we were in. Thanks, The Wine & Beer Haus, for helping us add to our stash! ;)
