Even said I had a "low pain tolerance" and "It's all in my head" until I forced him to open me up for a second surgery & turns out I had an infection. When he realized he messed up he offered to write me any prescription I wanted (which I declined.. I didn't want drugs, I wanted to not be in pain) It's been years since & I haven't known a single day without pain. My 11yo son recently had 4 teeth extractions under full anesthesia. Everything went very smoothly! As a parent, I was naturally pretty stressed out about having my child under anesthesia, but understood that 4 teeth being pulled would be quite traumatic if awake. The procedure was less than an hour, and our son had very minimal pain and zero swelling. This office gave me an amazing experience! I was super nervous about getting my wisdom teeth removed (especially after a past bad experience), but everything went so smoothly. I had IV sedation, and what felt like 30 seconds later--it was done. I didn't feel a thing! I'm now on day two and almost completely pain-free. I found them through the VA after going to two other doctors in Riverside county , one office had bugs and the other had a mean staff. This office was clean, they were nice, quick, and my surgery went great. The Dr called me to check up on me later. I had a great experience, they took great care of me. I was referred to North Coast Oral Surgery by my regular dentist. I contacted their office to make the appointment and provide my insurance information. They contacted me back to setup the initial consultation appointment with Dr. Turley. During the call to setup the appointment, Alison provided me with a verbal quote for the consultation appointment. This was after she confirmed my insurance information. When I arrived for the consultation appointment, I met with Dr. Turley, and after I was provided a bill for the appointment and an estimate for the oral surgery that was required at the next appointment. I paid the consultation appointment bill total that Alison provided to me. When I returned for the next appointment (the oral surgery), Alison informed me that my insurance company did not pay everything that they originally told the office. So they had to charge me an additional amount to cover the cost that the insurance company did not pay. When I asked why, she told me that sometimes they don't pay everything that they quote. So I paid the difference in addition to the cost for the oral surgery. When I got home, I called the insurance company to find out why they didn't pay the amount they quoted. I was informed by my insurance company that North Coast Oral Surgery was NOT IN MY NETWORK. AND THEY NEVER QUOTE PRICES TO PRACTICES NOT IN NETWORK. They only quote percentages of what they will pay of "normal and customary charges". When I called North Coast Oral Surgery back and spoke with Alison, I asked her why she didn't tell me that they were out of network, she claims that she new they were out of network and did tell me that. THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE. If they knew that, then why did they charge me the prices based on IN NETWORK SERVICES? The issue is that Alison made a mistake and did not tell me that they were OUT OF NETWORK, otherwise I would have gone to one of the other many Oral surgeons nearby that are IN MY NETWORK. ALISON make a mistake and quote me the in network prices, AND CHARGED ME THE IN NETWORK PRICES after the initial consultation visit. They refused to accept their mistake, and forced me to pay for THEIR ERROR. THEY MADE THE MISTAKE, THEN THEY LIED ABOUT IT. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. BE VERY CAUTIOUS WITH THIS COMPANY. NOTE: I have no problem with the Dental services that Dr. Turley provided, my issue is with their BILLING DEPARTMENT, and ALISON. FOLLOWUP - After speaking personally with Dr. Turley, the billing issues for this situation have been resolved to my satisfaction. read more

Greeted nicely by receptionist and finance person. Waiting room area decorated with calm ambiance. The furniture and dentist machines were dated. I was led into a separate room from the room I was waiting for dentist for X-rays where I had to stand in front of a machine that had a top part that circled around my head taking X-rays of my teeth along with the rest of my skull and everything it contained. Standing in front of the machine, I had to bite down on a piece of metal covered in plastic to keep head steady while the machine xrayed. It smelled weird and made me wonder if they wiped down that mouthpiece area and changed the plastic to bite down on. Doc was nice. Gave me a plan and informed me that finance person would come in to give me the pricing. The "nice" finance person came into the room going over the paperwork with costs and as soon as I made the decision that the expense was beyond what I could afford, she became mean and rude with the attitude of it's either that or nothing. Not only was I sus about getting my teeth done here after seeing the outdated rooms and machines but her mean borderline bullying behavior gave me confirmation that this was not the place for me. This will be my second go around with extractions, bone graft and implants! I've done this with him before, on the other side, and I'm thankful this time to know what to expect. I WOULD NEVER come back if I didn't know that I was getting the best care. I have had previous experiences with Oral Surgeons and Dentists and I would recommend Dr Turley to anyone, especially if you are nervous about dental work of any kind. Dr. Turley was recommended by my dentist Dr. Chapokas. He extracted two teeth last week and while it took some time, he was finally able to get them out. Wasn't painful in the sense that I was numbed pretty good. Everything went great and I was taken care of by Dr. Turley and his assistant He called later that evening to see how I was doing. I would give zero stars if that was possible! My wife is getting her tooth extracted today and I'm required to be here the entire time, but I'm NOT allowed to sit in the air conditioned waiting room, no I'm required to sit in my hot car, in 80 degree sun! They said it would take thirty minutes but I talked to another lady that got her tooth extracted, and they made her sister wait in her hot car for two hours, WOW! Zero point zero for this place. I can not recommend Dr. Turley or his staff more highly. I was referred to him by a friend who is a dental anesthesiologist, after enduring a horrific experience with another dental office and an unsuccessful dental implant. It resulted in an infection that was allowed to continue for three months. Dr. Turley's staff was professional, compassionate and helpful, and he skillfully performed a delicate and extensive oral surgery to remove the implant rod and clear the infection, relieving the pain I had experienced for three months. I was very nervous about getting my wisdom teeth out and they made sure that I was comfortable at all stages. As I sit on my couch with a half swollen face, I reflect on my procedure yesterday. When it comes to dental procedures I am a total nut case as I've had horrible experiences in my youth that has completely traumatized me. My veins were temperamental yesterday and I wasn't able to get IV sedation as originally planned but I have to commend Dr. Turley and his team. Their communication skills, organization skills, and overall professionalism made this not so enjoyable procedure as comfortable for me as possible. Dr. Turley even called later in the evening to check on me but I was knocked out from the meds. I appreciate that...It's the little things that count! This is in response to Dr. Turley and his comments on my review. First of all, when you say that I was always "friendly" every time I was in your office, that's my demeanor. I don't know what type of patients you are used to but I have no reason to be rude to anyone regardless of the situation. And that's crystal clear by your comment. And when you state that I never voiced my concerns, I mentioned to Allison that why wasn't the Dr doing the post op visit and she said that "he only comes in if there is something wrong." Now, I believe that me asking that question and then mentioning it again and the fact that I had to have three post op appointments for the same problem of my "divots" not closing properly would be me voicing my concerns don't you think? Second of all, you in fact did confirm that there was indeed a mix up of information between you and Allison with the salt water rinses. You stated that you told me to wait for my post op appointment and she said that I had to do the rinsing that first week. For someone that has been there 10 years and that you would trust with your own kids, she should understand the correct protocol because you're making it sound like it was my fault and that I didn't follow the directions on the written paper sent home. Clearly, this is why I asked to double check with you and now the patient is to blame for your miscommunication with your assistant you so highly speak of. It must be because I'm so old. Third, you might have said it jokingly but you did use the word "old" in one of our conversations. I remember that conversation specifically. And I'm well aware there is a difference but nevertheless, when you tell someone they're "older" you are indeed implying that they are "old." Now, if you would have given me an actual medical reason as to why the gaps in my gums weren't closing besides the fact that I'm "older" than I wouldn't have dwelled on that fact nor mentioned it at all. But again, both of you couldn't think of anything relevant to say as to why I wasn't healing correctly besides the fact that I'm not a teenager anymore. By the way, I know plenty of people my age and even older that have had wisdom teeth removed and have healed beautifully without any gaps, "divots" or problems. Finally, if you actually took my comments to heart and wanted to rectify the situation, you could have called me or private messaged me to solve this issue instead of putting on a public charade for the world to see. But that's okay, because I'm more than happy to respond to you as well. I also waited and thought long and hard before posting my review and I'm standing by my words and standing up for my convictions.
