Restrooms on second level (code needed, Wheelchair accessible). Use elevator to get to second level.

Accessibility: getting into the store is all flat ground. The door to enter is a single pull door but it was propped open. Inside, it is very spacious with plenty of room to make turns. No restrooms inside that I saw...the only restrooms I know of here are the ones upstairs on the second level (there is an elevator access across the hall from this storefront) but a number code is needed to access the restrooms. Experience: as soon as you come inside there is a woman (maybe other times it might be someone else) sitting inside who welcomed my partner and I. The woman was super nice, answered all our questions and spoke with us for a bit about art. The art was absolutely beautiful and reasonably priced for a gallery! I have been inside many galleries and seriously this art is more affordable but still high quality. There were different mediums of art here such as acrylic paints, oil paint, woodwork, metal work, mixed media, photography and more. There were large pieces of art, medium sizes, and extremely small! Something for everyone you might say. :) my partner and I loved it here and felt very welcomed. Masks: not worn by person working or other guests on 3-31-2022.

This league is over 50 years old and is just a wonderful asset to the community. Any league that supports art is up my alley. The league began to promote art education and cultural appreciation of fine art in the communities of Carlsbad and neighboring Oceanside. It features monthly shows of their members work. Membership is a small fee and the artist must work 1/2 day a month in the gallery. They also sponser the wonderful Art on the Ocean event where the artisits display their works on the lawns of nearby Carlsbad Inn so that visitors can view and purchase the works. I purchased several pieces of art that were really well done. I have one in my bedroom one of my office and one in my living room and they're all fantastic. The pieces light up the room and I get compliments on them every time anybody shows up in visits. I would recommend stopping in and taking a look see making sure that they have the right art for you. They also have a website that puts on some of their local pieces.

    Original art, paintings & sculpture!

I love this gallery. Every piece of art is done by area artists, and since this is artist supported, the prices are terrific. The gallery is run by artists, and it is fun to talk to the person at the front, and ask them which piece is theirs. Fun time. Every month has new work. Living in Carlsbad, it is cool to stop by every month and see what's new.

One artist who is being displayed prints all his photographs onto a type of metal that means the picture will never fade and stay vivid forever. This artist travels the USA taking photographs all over and then printing and selling the work. (Can I do that too? Hehe) Viz's work began with a doodle. He doodle in his free time and then started adding other images into the bigger doodle. His artwork is incredible and you have to see it to understand what I mean. I'll attach a few photos below. If you're in the area, definitely stop by this shop.

While attending Fiesta Hermosa (09-02-2013) I came across Viz Art Ink Gallery and artist Gregg 'Viz' Visintainer. Gregg is an amazing artist / amazing person and has actually been a guest speaker at the TED conferences. Gregg is a self-taught artist. Gregg has a very unique style of drawing. Like many other artists (including myself) while in school, instead of doing school work Gregg enjoyed doodling. After graduation Gregg took some time away from art but thrust himself back into the artistic world by creating a work of art called 'Lonely World' which took Gregg 3 months / 250 hours to finish. Viz Art Ink is all hand drawn using gel pen / ink. From afar there is a main image but up close you will find hidden pictures, words, messages and a lot of meaning that relates to each theme. Gregg & Viz Art Ink has been picked up by Element skateboards, Volcom, DC shoes, Gregs Skateboards, Skin-It, Grateful Dead, Falken Tires & Disney (Yes, that Disney). I do not believe in allowing artists to starve so I ended up picking an amazing T-shirt of one of Gregg's prints. The piece that I picked up was a depiction of Japanese art of The Great Wave off KanagawaI with a rising sun in the background. I am very pleased with my purchase and planning on visiting Gregg's gallery in Carlsbad to checkout more of his works of art. People like Gregg and Viz Art Ink is what keeps Fiesta Hermosa going. Make sure you set you the dates in your calendar and make sure you attend Fiesta Hermosa next year on Memorial & Labor Day weekends. If you are looking for an amazing work of art for a bare wall at your home you might have found it here with this review=)

I hope this review helps someone who is thinking about doing the tour. My mom and I enjoyed a wonderful day out touring 8 home gardens in the Encinitas area (2026). (A couple of the homes were in Carlsbad and one was in Olivenheim, the remainder were in Encinitas). I purchased the tickets on-line prior to the tour and showed the e-mail at the first house stop, where we received a color printed booklet that would be our ticket for the remainder of the tour. The booklet had a description and photo of each house, along with ads for the artists. You also have the option to pick up your booklet at the Off Track Gallery in Encinitas. The drive between some houses was a couple of minutes, and as much as about 8 minutes for others. This is where your GPS comes in handy! You can follow the order suggested in the booklet. I had studied the map before arrival and slightly adjusted the order for our convenience. Curb parking was always easy. Many of the houses featured pools. Some had art studios. One had chickens and goats. Another had some garden art and a photo opportunity. Some had views to die for. All of them featured a variety of plants, trees, flowers, succulents, cacti, shrubs, along with art vendors selling their wares and a table of finger foods. The variety of art ranged from jewelry, paintings and ceramics to mosaics, photography and fabric arts. Prices started at about $10 and went up into the hundreds and everything in between. All the talented vendors were very friendly and welcoming, although we felt bad when we walked away without buying something. We also met a couple of the house owners who were interesting to talk to. The complimentary food included fruit, crackers and cheese, cookies, cake, chips, hummus, water, lemonade and more. It was lovely to graze the food and sit for a bit and enjoy the surroundings. The home gardens were open between 10am and 4pm. We started at 10am and finished about 3:15pm. This included one house that permitted us to also see the interior, which was a pleasant surprise. We also stopped at a local grocery store to use the restroom as only one home had an available restroom for use. I highly recommend this tour if you get a chance. It's a unique way to spend Mother's Day weekend and you may see parts of San Diego that you've never seen before. It was definitely an eye opener to 'How the other half live'! You do quite a bit of walking and 'in and out of the car', so by the end you're quite tired, but my 78 year old mom did it! Be sure to wear comfy shoes and sun protection. Some areas of the gardens do offer shade, but not all. The photos attached are from the 2026 tour. I understand the homes change each year. We hope to visit the Off Track Gallery at a later date as it was closed by the time we got there after the tour, but we could see wonderful creations through the window. Helpful?

We were shown a video on the foundation of the museum and we had a demonstration on how to utilize the tablet kiosks in front of each section. I thought it was very cool to see especially modern instruments and how they looked in the past. It feels really good to appreciate how far instruments have come and how music has really shaped the human experience. I saw many people of all ages come here and enjoy. David walked us through what each section was and pretty much said we're open to going anywhere around the museum. It was super cool to watch the vids of the instruments in action. I especially loved the interactive aspects!!! Got to play around with some instruments hands-on. More than just guitars and banjos, I got my hands on countless other instruments for the first time!!! I definitely wish to play the wind instruments only bc I played trumpet in highschool but I obviously understand the hygiene issues with that. You get to try out DJ systems, electric drums, harps, and there's even a kids' section!!! Super fun and you'll have a newfound appreciation for music instruments!!!
