I love lodges like this that strengthen communities. It is a win win situation for everyone. The members meet to discuss philanthropic activities and it serves as a social hub of the community. The building itself is simple and run down. Members can reserve it for events. It is a versatile venue with 4 main areas including a cozy room with a couch, a dance floor, a room appropriate for food service, and a bar. Prices for drinks are reasonable and you can bring in food for the group without judgment. I look forward to attending more events at Moose Lodge!

My family and I went to the School of Rock music show featuring the Foo Fighters. My nephew Logan and the rest of his classmates did an amazing job with their show. I liked this place as it had a big stage and plenty of seating for the audience. Also by the bar, there is an area where you can see the stage as well. From the looks of it, they had a good selection of alcohol although I didn't partake any. I loved that they have a room with foosball and other games which was nice as our daughter only wanted to hang out there rather than watching her cousin play music. It was a bit loud and the vocals were not set up correctly that at times, those that were singing were drowned out by the instruments. Also there is a big moose head that greets you when you walk into the place. You have to be a member to go in most days but from what I heard that when they have shows such my nephew's show, you get to go in as non-member as long as you pay the fee for the day. If you're an Oceanside local and haven't been here, definitely check this place out.

Girls night at the Moose Lodge!

It served as a secret meeting place for Founding Fathers like Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and the Sons of Liberty to plan events such as the Boston Tea Party. That being said the food here is very Boston. Think lobstahhh, clam chowder and new American classics like brussel sprouts and wedge salads. It's a casual place and there is an upstairs for giant parties (30+). Parking is ample and free. The museum is a large room with artifacts and info. It's free and a great place to read and learn something. Located near the outlets/Windmill in Coastal Carlsbad.

We enjoy the detached dining area were there are plenty of booth seats and appreciate the often almost private dining experience. The staff is usually very friendly and accommodating. The cocktails are always top notch and we've enjoyed just about every meal we had at Green Dragon from the delicious garlic knots with Marinara, the flaky turkey pot pie, the potato crusted cod, and Mac and cheese (with or without protein). We definitely recommend this as a most visit to experience some New England vibes and look forward to the next chance to visit.

It felt intimate but spacious, with lots of options on where to hang out during the event. This place is a gem - so many people kept asking, "How did you find this place?!" We're so glad we did! We went with the barbecue dinner buffet option and folks were raving about it. There was more than enough to go around with lots of people getting seconds. We also opted for the flatbread pizza option during cocktail hour and did NOT regret it. The venue is already so gorgeous with all the lush greenery and flowers. We added lots of our own touches like Mexican flags, cacti on tables, table runners, etc. It was so much fun to be able to dress up the venue to reflect our personalities. Emily has the venue running like a well oiled machine. She's super easy to work with and patient. I'm so, so glad we found Slate Barn and Gardens for our wedding.

Contact Emily and her team now because the perfect spot to say I Do is right here. We looked at 4 maybe 5 local san diego venues and all of them were missing one must need list item on our wish list. We wanted an all included, open bar with beer/wine/and liquor, and for the space to feel intimate. We found all these checklist items with The Slate Barn & Gardens. Our day was beyond beautiful we want to relive it! Ok some details for you brides to be and grooms to be: Emily and her team are so accommodating from start to finish. She handles everything from table set up and venue prep to the center pieces. They have a great selection of candle holders, decor items and linen colors for everyones style. There is a brides suite on the grounds, sorry guys you'll have to chill somewhere else. Its cozy and fit all 9 of us girls in it! THE FOOD. Everyone is still talking about how great the food was. We were so happy with all the different menu options, we were able to accommodate all different types of diets in one swoop. Emily plans all of the venue side of the day, all you bring in your drinks, a DJ and florals. We had the best vendors make our day come to life. We can not thank the crew enough for making our experience a stress free and amazing experience. THANK YOU!

I will review both the good and bad about having Michelle as my partial day of coordinator. I met up with Michelle months before the wedding to talk to her about hiring her for a 4 hour shift during my wedding. She seemed nice and courteous. I needed her for 2 hours to set up some DIY items I had made for the ceremony and 2 hours for reception. I had made all the things for the wedding and she didn't have to provide anything. The good was that she was responsive to phone calls and texts. She came to our rehearsal but had to leave early for a concert which I didn't mind very much bc since she was a partial coordinator and also came early so I could show here where I wanted things to go. I did notice that her attitude towards my other vendors was not pleasant on the wedding day. I saw her be snappy to at least two of my other vendors who were really patient and nice but I was too busy as a bride to really think anything of it at the time. Later on I found out that she snapped directions at my bridesmaids and groomsmen to do tasks that I had paid her to do. They said at one point she was just sitting at a bench and not doing anything. She complained that she didn't know where things were suppose to go so my groomsmen took the blueprint that I had printed out for her and did the set up themselves. Several of my bridesmaids complained that she was rude and just didn't do her job. Michelle also complained that I didn't tell her what to do with our centerpieces even though I did multiple times. Overall, I would say my bridal party did at least 80% of the set up of our ceremony (they transported and set up the arch, the flowers in the aisle way) and finished setting up some reception tables like the dessert table. Michelle had to do the rest and set up some signs at the ceremony, put up some reserve seats signs for family, help us with procession, set up the dessert and check in table and centerpieces at the reception but she did not do it with grace and was rude to my friends and the other wedding vendors. We had a lot of mishaps as all wedding do, some vendors were really late but the only vendor complaint I got was that Michelle was rude. I was very overwhelmed that day but even I was not rude to my vendors and my guests and bridal party. For someone that is paid almost $90 a hour just to be at my wedding and set up some items, she didn't do a good job by any means. I wanted Michelle there to help take the load and burden off my bridal party but it sounds like she made it worse for them. I hope she will be able to be more courteous to her future bridal parties because as a bride, hearing that your 4-hour coordinator was rude and snappy to your friends and vendors is not pleasant. My friends had to jump in and help us despite dealing with her attitude. I can not recommend her and I'm sorry to say that if I could redo the wedding, I would go with a different coordinator or none at all.
