If you are looking for a fence company, look no further! I am so grateful we found North County Fences to install our custom hardwood fence for us. Rich and Gerardo were an absolute pleasure to work with and our fence turned out even better than we had hoped for. To give a little bit of background about myself - I am a general contractor and am very picky and indecisive (so I'm not the easiest to please) We decided to get a fence sooner than we had originally anticipated so I didn't really have time to do my typical research into the type of materials, cost, or design of the fence I would want, but after talking to Rich our decision on picking a contractor was easy. Rich was our point of contact for the sales side of the company. Rich went above and beyond to make sure all my questions were answered and that we were getting the right fence for our needs. I never felt once I was being sold, I felt like I was working with an old friend. Rich put together a draft proposal for us for a horizontal rough redwood fence. The price point was extremely competitive, and the design was spot on. Gerardo then came out in person to show us a sample of the material to be sure we liked it. I didn't love the rough look, so he said I may like the smooth cut better, or may like another wood altogether called Mangaris. The Mangaris is a hardwood, so it won't bow overtime the same way redwood does over time. My wife and I really loved the look of the Mangaris which ended up being a slightly more expensive material, but so so worth it. Gerardo came out and marked off the lines for the fence and made sure we were happy with them before starting work. He took the time to walk the project with me and review the details to give me an expectation of the install. As soon as Gerardo began working it was clear he is truly a master craftsman, every single detail was precise and beautifully executed. Our fence had several angles on it, which is very tricky to line up properly. The final product ended up being even nicer than we could have hoped for. Our fence turned out truly beautifully, Rich and Gerardo were a pleasure to work with, and we love our fence. I have already recommended them several times. Due the continuous rain in March of 2025, their work schedule were pushed back and delayed for a week. They offer a 3-year labor warranty and a one-year material warranty on their work. My turn to add to the five star reviews. The price was competitive and all I can say is, don't go cheap when it comes to making your decision. I had some quotes that were cheaper, but not by much. Checked out the competition and discovered perhaps why some were cheaper. One had their license suspended due to liability insurance issues. Others had no Workers' Comp because they didn't have any "permanent employees". Cutting corners like that leaves the customer vulnerable. North County Fences doesn't cut those corners. The owner Gerardo is hands on. He and three others worked on my fence. Roberto (goes by Robert and Roberto) handled the contract matters and was quick to respond. Can't say enough positive. Gerardo and his team have just completed the installation of a replacement two-tone vinyl fence. A few months ago we carefully reviewed many fencing contractors and settled on three for quotations. Gerardo's quote was comparable with other quotes (including Lowe's) but his reviews were all outstanding. Given that his work is in such high demand, we had to wait a few months before he was available, but he showed up exactly on the schedule that we had agreed a couple of months earlier. I've been an engineer for four decades, and all I kept saying was "Wow!". I've rarely seen such amazing attention to detail, precision and accuracy. Every single vertical and horizontal line was perfectly in alignment. At the end of each day, Gerardo would clean up all the mess, hand wipe down any smears on any of the panels, wish our family a good evening, and then leave without a trace. Amazing! You'll notice from the photographs that there is also a gate and a removable fencing panel (very useful!). All I can say is that if you want the nearest thing to perfection (this side of eternity!) this is it. Beyond 5 Stars, 10 Stars!! Finding the perfect fence contractor has been a long-time goal, to replace our 25-year-old dilapidated fence, front and back. It was a disaster, an eyesore (see photos) especially after having our house repainted and making other repairs inside and out. Our original fence was barely left standing from termite damage and rainfall. We knew we wanted a modern vinyl, long-lasting fence. Gerardo listened, made suggestions, and was patient and informative. Plus he offered us a fair price. Because we're living in the time of Covid, everyone in the world sought improvements for their houses & yards! So it took a few months before Gerardo was available. (He's a busy guy, especially during high season, and for good reason!) But he was worth the wait!! He's a detail guy, which you completely want, if you're looking for a polished and well-installed product. He also agreed to add a 10" leg to one of our fences, even though it wasn't in the original order. Plus, when he left, he removed all our old fence materials and took them away, leaving our yard immaculate. That's very important when you have a home full of pets: two dogs and a tortoise! Gerardo showed up every day with a smile on his face, never complained, worked hard, and even looked after our 135-lb Sulcatta tortoise. He actually put up temporary barriers, so our "St. Nick" would not venture out into a neighbor's yard! I can't say enough about his work ethic, his friendliness and his willingness to help with any question or issue you might have. We're absolutely thrilled with the appearance of the new fence & gate--Wow!!
