A nurse came out and showed us to the exam room, took my vitals, and maybe 5-10 minutes later Dr. Saint-Jean came in. She gave me a thorough exam including administering special drops that would "illuminate" the extent of the injury, determined it only needed an antibiotic ointment, gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. Everything from check in to check out was seamless and professional. The facility was clean, organized, and well run by all involved. I hope to not need their services in the future, but if I do, they will be my first choice.

Communication has been poor, follow-through has been lacking, and there seems to be no urgency or accountability--despite the fact that delays like this directly affect patients' health and quality of life. I understand that SBCHC is a community health center, but that does not excuse substandard care. Patients still deserve timely coordination, basic administrative competence, and compassion--especially when they are dealing with pain. This experience has left me feeling ignored and unsupported.
