Do not bring your car here. It does not matter if you are going through GEICO or paying out of pocket. My car was burglarized and I trusted them to repair the hood and replace a broken window. What was supposed to be a two day job turned into eight days. There was almost no communication the entire time. I had to chase them for updates, and even then the information I got was vague and inconsistent. This place operates in a way that feels deceptive from start to finish. Nothing was clearly explained. Decisions were made without transparency. It felt like they were deliberately keeping me in the dark. The pricing was the worst part. The final cost was nearly double the original estimate. I was not told about any increase until the day I picked up my car. On top of that, they charged me for work that resulted from their own mistake. They ordered the wrong hood, did not even test fit it before installing it, and went ahead and painted it. Only after all of that did they realize it did not fit. Then they turned around and charged me for the incorrect hood and the paint work on it. That is inexcusable. Any competent shop would confirm fit before painting. This was careless, deceptive, and completely dishonest. It was my mistake too, as what they charged me would've been a lot less anywhere else. Furthermore, the owner, Rudy, was my main point of contact and he was extremely rude (ironic but true). He was dismissive, unprofessional, and clearly did not care about the situation. Any concerns I raised were brushed off. When I finally got my car back, it was dirty. There were footprints and residue inside from their work. No one bothered to clean it. That shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for customers. Overall, this was a shady, deceptive, dishonest, and unprofessional experience. This wouldn't have been too much of an issue if someone by the name "Tay" did not call me to tell me the car was ready only for me to show up and no one is able to help me. First of all this is a real review. Like other reviewers I was sent here by GEICO, I not only have no affiliation with this place but before this I had never made a car insurance claim or gotten major bodywork done on a car at all. Bottom line, the place did the job they promised, quality is fine, and they did it in only one business day longer than promised, which beat my expectations for this kind of work. I don't write reviews often but I feel like this is the kind of business that tends to draw out the haters (hence their low average) so I feel like I need to balance that. Or maybe they are actually improving, in which case they deserve a chance too. So I will give some details: I picked this place without looking at Yelp reviews, because it was the place with the first available appointment (several days earlier than others) in the GEICO claim app. When I finally saw these reviews midway through the repair process, I was horrified and frightened! But all is OK in the end. This job was to repair my Nissan Leaf EV hatchback after hitting a deer on the highway. At least seven different body panels (hood, both bumpers, entire right side) were replaced or repaired, and I can't tell the difference between those they replaced and those they just repaired. They also replaced all the lights and plastic trim parts at the front right corner. To me they look good as new. The cost was $7400, is that reasonable? Who knows, I only paid the deductible. Yes, the other reviews have a point, this place says low rent all over it, from what it looks like. They took 3-1/2 weeks to do the job, but I wouldn't expect much better. It was a ton of work and parts to order and wait for, and this is a big, busy place. Yes the parking here is inconvenient. Yes the people are busy, all business and not super friendly. Yes their online tracking system said it would be done on Friday at 6pm, and it wasn't. But it was done the following Monday at 10 AM, and honestly if I had called them on the Thursday or Friday before to ask about it, who knows maybe they would have actually gotten it done on time. Nobody wants to get major car repair done after an accident-- this isn't a happy time. But I can't say I'm disappointed with this place. Had the most horrible experience here and I dropped my car off here in September and it's November and I'm still dealing with their incompetence. I was in accident in DC and I'm not from the area so I went with this shop since it is a geico partner. When I dropped my car off I informed the shop that I would be out of the country for a few weeks if they could complete the repairs before I left but if not they would store my car until I returned. They were a week late on completing the repairs and continuously called me even though I was out of the country to pick up the car. I asked my parents to pick up the car so they took time off from work and took a train down to dc just to bring the car back. Unfortunately they didn't take pictures of the car upon pick up but the car was given to them still damaged. For a very noticeable damage of the passenger door not opening they waited 2 hours in the shop for the repairs to be completed though the car was supposed to be ready for pick up. Once I got back to the country I noticed other scratches and damage to my vehicle which the shop is not claiming responsibility for. This whole experience has made me decide not continue my business with geico for partnering with such a horrible business and I may have to pursue legal action against this shop as well. read more

I went here to get a Geico assessment of damages and upon leaving, vowed I would NEVER come back. Even though we were in the middle of the pandemic and have a mask mandate in DC, there wasn't a single mask on in the building except for mine. I was sneered at for wearing my mask and the staff were rude and dismissive. The location itself is not well kept and the cars awaiting repair clog up the street and the sidewalk so backing out of their drop-off area is an absolute nightmare (you basically have to do it blind, onto a street that has a 45 mile per hour speed limit). It was sheer luck I didn't get into another car accident. DO NOT GET REPAIRS DONE HERE, especially when there are also places like Imperial Auto Body in DC. read more

Geico sent me here and after reading the reviews, I was concerned, but I figured I'd go with Geico's recommendation. I have been very happy with my experience. The two women at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. I had arrived too early for my appointment and they went out of their way to fit me in. The job was done for almost half the price of other body shops and they gave me my car in pristine shape. I noticed a small scratch when picking up the car and they buffed it right out. Some people get annoyed with the Enterprise at this location, but they have nothing to do with the Body Shop. I would 100% recommend using North East Auto Body for any automobile work. Buyer Beware!! Volvo was hit and GEICO sent me to this shop. They completed body work and I could tell it had work so the body work was not great so I believe some of these post may be done by their friends and family. I know the receptionist and manager are the children of the owner who would not even pick up the phone to call me. I had a rental car for almost 50 days waiting on them and then had to fight with GEICO about who was going to pay for that. They called to say my car was ready. I went to pick it up and a rim that was hit in the accident was not repaired. They took a wheel off the car that had not been hit and switched it with a new one but the one that was hit was STILL ON THE CAR. Then the manager (owners son) attempted to tell me I did not know what I was talking about so I had to produce a picture of the damaged tire in my phone and line it up with the scratches on the tire rim still on the car. I left and was called two days later when they said the car was ready AGAIN. I went to pick it up and a service light came on for a fog light they were supposed to fix so I took it back. They said they needed to keep the car after an hour of looking so i left again. They called a 3rd time and after driving a mile or two I took it back because it was not driving right and they kept the car a week and never called me. I called them and they said the car was ready last week. I picked the car up and had to pay a mechanic $500 to fix in 4 hours what they did not find due to them only really wanting to do body work. Needless to say, GEICO never paid me. BUYER BEWARE. This place is so bad I want to leave my cell number on here for people to call me. read more

If I could give North East Auto Body zero stars I would. However I have to give them at least one. They received my truck on December 16 to repair two windshields, a head rest, back seat and a back tire. I didn't receive my truck for more than a month. It took over five weeks for me to get my truck back. My problem is I received two tickets in the mail and the tickets were issued to my car during the time the North East Auto Body had my car. That is very unprofessional and one of the tickets weren't even near the shop and they were at someone's house because I googled the address. I was very skeptical coming here based on the other reviews I had seen, though I experienced the complete opposite. Great people, service, and fantastic job repairing my car. My car basically looks brand new now, especially because they cleaned it both inside and out--not just where I needed repairs. This is my new go-to shop for any body work. The only reason this shop is receiving two stars is because the front desk representative is very polite. The manager was extremely unprofessional. He walked around the store grumbling and complaining about the Geico representative. Granted the Geico representative never showed up for my 8am appointment. The manager did my inspection. He only reviewed half of the damage with me before he received a call and walked away saying "that he got the gist." I left feeling extremely doubtful that my car would be appropriately repaired. My gripe with Geico was another issue, but I am shocked that they did recommend this shop. I didn't have any work done because I turned around and picked up my car. Don't do business with this company or the Enterprise car rental located inside their shop. My mom took her car there for auto body repair, and was given a rental. The repair only took 2 days. Mom never drove the rental. Two days later, her car was ready. When she returned the rental, the salesperson said she could leave. She asked whether someone was going to inspect the vehicle. The salesperson reiterated that she could leave. There was no damage to the vehicle. Two hours later, they called claiming $700 damage to the left fender. We are gearing up to fight them in court. Disclaimer I did NOT get any work done here. So they might do a great job but my experience with their All State Claims rep gives them one star. I went in to get estimates done on my car. Edmundo Gutierrez (All State Claims rep) completed my estimate and said I could have my repairs done there or at another location. I called Edmundo THREE times this week to set up repairs and left a voicemail (his voicemail says that he is in the office from 8-5 and will return ur call within THREE hours). I have not heard from him. Oh and I almost forgot that I sent him an email as well. No reply. So I call the North East Auto Body front office and lady on the phone tells me that Edmundo has been in the office all week. So someone decided to go backwards on a main roadway and hit my driver side door with their rear end. I seriously thought my car was totaled (its not worth much) but when they said they could fix it I was so happy. While my car is in great shape, I wanted to write about their excellent customer service. Because of a set of unfortunate events, the rental car place would not give me a lift to the Auto Body Shop. I called the shop to see what they could do. Not only did Butch ( who works there) spend a lot of time in DC traffic to get me at Union Station, but he was very cheerful and happy to do it. I didn't feel like I was placing a massive imposition (although I am sure I was). He was respectful and funny. It made a very stressful situation a lot more bearable. No one wants to get their car ruined to need body work. Thankfully, there are places like this that made it a lot easier to deal with. read more

Stay away. Our insurance company directed us to NE Auto Body after an accident and we had a terrible experience. They fixed the damage to our car but managed to damage our door in the process. After denying that they had done anything to it, they agreed to fix the door and pay for another rental for us, saying it would be a one day job. Come 5:30 that afternoon, the car still wasnt' ready, no excuse or anything. After two fender benders within the first 2 months of living here in DC, my "baby" was looking a little sad. I had separate claims with two different insurance companies, both of which were happy to work with the professionals at North East Auto Body. I stopped in one afternoon for an estimate, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! They quickly sorted out which parts would need to be ordered and how to work with the insurance companies handling the damage, and told me I could bring my car back early the following week for service. I came back the next week to drop my car off, and just as they promised, my rental car reservation was already taken care of! I left my car in their capable hands and four days later, returned to a car that was like-new! They had warned me that the new bumper cover paint might not match the faded paint of the rest of my car, but I was surprised and impressed by the job they did! You couldn't tell what was newly painted from what came with the car. Although I HOPE I never have to go back, if I ever need painting or autobody work done again, this is the place I'd go without hesitation! read more

I took my 2006 Acura RL to them yesterday for a minor bumper issue. All I needed was for my bumper to be realigned. The guy came out and just looked at my car and went back inside to write up a quote. He then proceeded to tell me that my bumper needs to be replaced and so forth and it would cost $989.00. Of course I left. I ended up going to 3426 18th street NE Washington DC 20018. This time they came out and actual looked at the bumper, moving things to really understand what needed to be done. They only charged me $55.00 to reattached my bumper, because it wasn't really damaged, it just needed a few clips to be put back on. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE CROOKS AT THE NORTH EAST BODY SHOP!! They will charge you as much as they can for the smallest of issues. I didn't have a great experience with Northeast Auto. I had to go back twice for the same problem after they assured me that my vehicle was fixed. They were apologetic but didn't check to see if the issued had been resolved when they called me to pick up my car. How can you do that twice. They get +1 star because the car is actually fixed (or so it seems). However, actually getting my car was a different story. The original estimate was approximately five days -- reasonable. I followed the repair status on Nationwide's online tracker and it also told me that it would be ready in five days. I called on the morning of the fifth day (a Friday) to confirm, only to find out that they had discovered more extensive damage and the car needed more work, and that it wasn't ready yet. It was frustrating that I had to call them myself to find that out. Unfortunately, this was a trend that continued. I called Monday morning, they said it would be ready Tuesday. I called Tuesday morning, they again delayed it to Wednesday. I called Wednesday morning, and after putting me on hold for 10 minutes, they told me that they "just found" there was something wrong with my airbag sensor and they had to order and run a diagnostic unit (the fact that something was wrong with the airbags was noted by the man who initially evaluated the car, almost two weeks prior to this), and that it would be ready Thursday at the earliest. I then received a call at about 3:30 PM Wednesday afternoon, informing me that my car would be ready for pickup at 4:45. I had to scramble to return my rental and get a ride back to the body shop while technically on my lunch break at work because I had already told my supervisors that I wouldn't need to leave that day. I half expected the car to not be ready when I got there, but by some miracle it actually was. All in all, it took double the original amount of time to fix and the only time the shop actually called me to tell me about the status of the car was when they told me it would be ready in an hour, the day of. Needless to say I won't be coming back, and based on the massive bill they're sending to Nationwide for a fender bender, I don't think Nationwide should be using them as a recommended body shop anymore either. read more
