Love this food truck park in Asbury - especially since there aren't too many food options down on this end of the boardwalk! There is a seated area with benches or you can take your food with you on the beach. There are a variety of different food trucks. When I went there were trucks serving up sandwiches, playa bowls, pork roll, empanadas and ice cream. Though I'm sure that the food trucks often rotate in and out and change up based on the day. Totally blanking on the name of the truck that I chose, but I had a caprese sandwich and it was delicious - fresh muzz, tomatoes, basil and pesto stuffed on a kaiser roll. A bit pricey at around 10 bucks, but the sandwich was huge and easily big enough to share amongst two for a the perfect beach lunch. I tried my friends Playa Bowl and it was also very good. Oceanfront food trucks are a great concept and as always, AP pulls it off well. Now I know that if I head to the 'quieter' end of the boardwalk that my beach day lunch won't suffer. read more

Awesome spot with different options. We were so happy to accidentally stumble upon this place. We tried a little bit of everything! We had the beef bulgogi tacos (Asian style) & kimchi fries from the Seoul fusion truck, both were delicious! The kimchi fries were amazing. From the slider truck we ordered the Bourbon sliders, extremely tasty! From the Peruvian truck we got empanadas and saved them for later, also very tasty!! We planned on going back the following morning to order from the Taylor ham truck but it was raining (no food trucks out) & so we will have to try it next time. We will definitely be back!! read more

This was a great idea, always busy. But sadly we pulled up today as part of our plans for lunch in Asbury and it's GONE! :(

A brilliant idea, nestled in a wonderful little area - the Asbury Park Boardwalk. "North Eats" is a gravel lot with seating, where several local food trucks park to sell their wares. At the time of this writing, there's typically an Italian food truck that specializes in organic pizzas, an ice cream / iced coffee truck, a Peruvian food truck, a truck specializing in pork roll sandwiches, and a Korean/Mexican fusion taco truck. So far, I've only had the chance to eat at Seoul Fusion, the korean taco truck. Overall, I've been pretty impressed; the bulgogi tacos here are actually way more flavorful than the bulgogi at Mogo (Sorry Mogo, I still love you, I promise!), with the other offerings being about on-par. Prices for this particular truck were also competitive with Asbury's tried and true Mogo, clocking in at $4 for a taco. The downsides to North Eats? Well, the parking, for one. I get it, it's meant to be a boardwalk attraction, but it would be nice if they had a small 30-min parking lot for people who want to stop by for a quick bite to eat during lunch, instead of having to walk a block or two and feed $1 into the meters (which don't give change if you only want 30 mins). Also, in-line with Asbury's "trendy / hipster" vibe, prices for most of the trucks are kind of... inflated. Not awful, mind you, but be prepared to pay $8+ for a pork roll sandwich, or $15 for a personal pizza. Maybe I'm just spoiled by local hot dog & taco trucks that charge $1.50 and $2 accordingly. In all, a nice addition to Asbury, and one that I'll probably be visiting at least a few times a year. Some nice options, lighter fare, and the crashing waves? Yeah, that makes for a pretty relaxing lunch. read more

Love the addition of the food trucks! So far we have enjoyed the Seoul Fusion, the Peruvian truck and the Ice Cream truck. Had the chicken Mexican style tacos from Seoul Fusion. Very tasty but a bit spicy. Enjoyed the Peruvian Arroz con Pollo immensely. Had a nice flavor. Perfect for a day at the beach. Only complain is that the dish was a bit light on the chicken. A little bit more would have made the dish perfect! My only complaint about the food trucks is that there is no traditional option like hot dog, hamburgers and french fries. While I personally love the eclectic choices, my boyfriend and kids do not. read more

Garden State Salad Company is delicious! Vegan wrap is so tasty and the they give a half of avocado with salsa on top of nachos! Yum! Great choice for light and vegetarian food on the boardwalk. read more

OK street food, but overpriced. Also, I think this is the only place in Asbury Park with outdoor seating that is not dog friendly. Unless you think tying your dog to a pole in the scorching sun while you sit at a shady table is dog friendly. There are great places downtown plus WonderBar that welcome 4-legged patrons and their owners. read more

Best place to grab food on the boardwalk. It's cheap and good. We love the pork roll truck (amazing idea!) and the people who work there are super friendly. Also love the ice cream truck. The guy puts sprinkles in the bottom of your cone so the ice cream doesn't leak out of the bottom - genius. read more

Underwhelming is the word that comes to mind. Not all food trucks are created equal so be careful not to get suckered in by a popular trend. The food was not bad per se, but they are overpriced and if you show up after 3pm on a Sunday some trucks are closed up and the ones that are open are out of their best stuff. The Pork Roll truck seems like a great idea, but two thin slices of pork roll with some outside the box ingredients is worth passing up for the classic version at Frank's. Pretty unrealistic and kind of lame to expect people to keep their bikes or dogs out of an open air picnic space, though, especially given the proximity to beach and boardwalk. I heard about Northern Eats through my facebook newsfeed because it was getting a lot of buzz from my friends and coworkers so I absolutely could not wait to check it out last Friday. I brought my dad with me and the first place we tried was Seoul Fusion. We ordered one bulgogi taco (Asian style), one pulled pork taco (Mexican style), and kimchi fries. IT WAS SO DELICIOUS. They really did a great job doing Asian fusion style cooking, and their kimchi was on point. My dad and I also really appreciated that the chef came by to talk to us while we were enjoying his cooking and that the owner was genuinely nice too. I was so pleased afterward that I couldn't help but tell all my friends about the awesome experience when I saw them later that night. I can't wait to bring my friends to Seoul Fusion and to try the other food trucks as well. I'll try to update this as I try each food truck. read more

Johnny's Pork Roll truck makes the best egg sandwiches in the area. I've tried a lot of pork roll egg and cheese in my day; even competing with my own kitchen, Johnny's takes the cake. They'll make it any way you ask but if you just let them do their thing you won't be disappointed. Perfectly seared and caramelized pork roll with perfectly done, slightly soft eggs. Love the Seoul food truck but was very disappointed when we arrived at 7pm and they were already closed, so we settled for the pizza truck. 2 hours later I was vomiting violently and was diagnosed with food poisoning. Still recovering 2 days later. Never eating at a food truck again! read more

Garden State Salad company is my favorite! They have salads, panini's and more. The lemonade and smoothies are great. The North Eats area is so clean and a really nice relaxing spot. You've got to try it! read more

The Seoul fusion, Peruvian & slider trucks are excellent. I left off 2 stars because of Johnnys pork roll truck. The cook has an attitude and while I was there decided you can only order pork roll and egg sandwiches. On top of that it consistently takes 20-30 minutes from the time you order to get a sandwich. My pork roll and egg sandwich was good and if you don't mind your friends getting, eating and finishing their food from other trucks in front of you while you wait for your pork roll then I guess they are OK; otherwise try one of the other trucks instead. read more
