Super disappointing and disheartening experience at this establishment. My family experienced some…read moreof the worst hospitality we have ever seen in our lives from staff at Via Sposito... The group stopped in, casually on a Saturday night - the first thing that my dad asked the staff was whether it was okay to dine there given the way they were dressed - which was nothing fancy, but casual and acceptable. But I guess the staff was bothered by that.. not that they communicated so. The staff could have answered, "no, your attire is not appropriate/ doesn't follow our dress code." We would have left. Truly don't know what the issue was. Service was super rushed. It felt like they didn't want to serve us. The second the appetizer came out she asked us to order dinner. We asked for 5 minutes and she refused us... saying that she had to put the order in at that moment because "dishes may take 45 minutes to cook" and that we "may not get our food"... lol it was laughable... When we asked for water, the waitress said that they didn't have any glasses for the water. What do you mean you don't have any glasses for water? It felt like she was playing a joke or blatantly trying to upset us. Icing on the cake, the waitress served my dad an expired beer. She claimed it was their last can. When he confronted her about the date on the can, she was rude, and did not really seem to care about serving expired alcohol. The manager also brushed us off. So upsetting. I don't ever aim to bash businesses, especially local ones, but it is disappointing to find out that going to restaurants marketed as luxe and upscale doesn't mean you are going to be treated in such a way, at all. In fact, the opposite. Definitely won't be returning to this place... I wish them the best and truly hope they re-evaluate the way they treat paying customers.

Everything on the menu is delicious. The choices are abundant. My husband loves their free range chicken Francese, so tender and flavorful. My son always gets the Pescatora with so much fresh seafood that even he gets a box to go, so he can enjoy it for lunch the next day. I love the Via Col Vento,, it is so wonderful ! They also made my husband's birthday extra special with a wonderful cheesecake with the sparkler candle. "holy moly - that desert was so good". I have to add that having the nearby guests sing and cheer for his birthday, made it all the better. Everything was "Bellissimo" !

I ordered the pork chop and I swear it melted in my mouth faster than my paycheck disappears on Amazon. Perfectly cooked, juicy, and seasoned so well I almost stood up and applauded in the middle of the restaurant. Then came dessert... the cannoli cake. Whoever invented that deserves their own national holiday. Out of this world doesn't even describe it. I took one bite and immediately started questioning every other dessert I've ever eaten in my life. The staff was awesome, the atmosphere was great, and honestly I'd probably fight a small bear for another slice of that cake.

Many of our friends have recommended Clarizio's to us but every time we gave thought about coming it has been particularly difficult to get a reservation on a Saturday night. I was working late on Saturday, so I was unaware that my husband was able to make a reservation for 8:30PM. Reservations are not made through Open Table. Instead, Clarizio's website send you to another site called Resy to make a reservation. What was shocking and disappointing is that Clarizio's hold your credit card number to secure the reservation and if you don't show a $25 fee is charged. My husband was so worried that they were going to count us as a no show because we were running a little late. He even tried to call to inform them that we were running late, but no one answered the phone. Luckily, Clarizio's called us because we were about 10 min late to inquire our whereabouts and we had just turned into the restaurant parking lot. Upon arrival, the hostess took us to a table set for 2 in a crowded dining room with all other tables holding large parties. Although it was crowded it did not take away anything from our wonderful dining experience! Our waiter John P was extremely nice and helpful especially after he learned that it was our first time dining here. Unfortunately, I was unaware that it was BYOB because I was working and was unable to check the website. Our waiter John eased our minds by saying that it was okay and that we would have to rely on their food to make a good impression. That certainly was no disappointment! Our food was so terrific, that we cannot wait to return and taste so many other delicious sounding items on their menu. John also told us that unless we have huge appetites, their entree portions were large enough to share. We were glad to take John's suggestion and shared the Zuppa di Pesce which was plentiful of shellfish in a tomato broth over angel hair pasta. We have had this dish in many other Italian restaurants and this was one of the best! This entree also came with one salad and I asked for an extra salad for me since we were sharing the entree. Not to go unnoticed was the crunchy outside and soft inside delicious bread. For dessert, we shared the Tiramisu suggested by John as it was his personal favorite. It was so light and flavorful that we too could make it our personal favorite! All in all this was a fabulous dining experience and I highly recommend this restaurant! Next time though, I will remember to bring a bottle of wine.

I did however leave some photos from the past ... the food here is consistently good, every single time we visit. And not only is the food good, but the service is top notch. Today we had Katie as our server and she helped make my birthday celebration special. I wanted to try a new entree but I was really craving my favorite penne à la vodka with breaded chicken, yum. It lived up to my expectations too. Oh and we started off with sharing a caesar salad which was plenty for two people. My husband had the veal parmesan, which he loved. He was ready to take home half of it, as portions are generous. He ate the whole thing ! We were so stuffed there was no room for dessert but Katie was so sweet and brought out this delish little cannoli plate with a fun "fireworks" candle. It really helped make my day special. She's a great server. Thanks, Patricia's of Holmdel for helping make my birthday a special one ! You never disappoint. The restaurant was pretty busy for a rainy Saturday lunch. From the outside it looks like a simple storefront but on the inside, it was a beautifully decorated restaurant. We were welcomed and seated promptly. The server came over and greeted us and asked if we had a bottle for her to open, which we didn't. Unbeknownst to us the restaurant is BYOB. When we shared that it was our first time there she gave us some time to look at the menu. I ended up ordering shrimp parm with linguini, and I asked for the linguini to have white sauce as opposed to the red sauce. She brought over water, a bread basket and bruschetta for the table. I usually prefer lime with my water. They didn't have lime, but she did bring over lemon wedges. While waiting for our meal my company had to step out and by the time the food arrived they weren't back. I asked the sever if I could get a plate to cover their food and she was super accommodating. Upon my companies return the server, even offered to reheat the food for them, which I thought was a nice touch. We declined, but we were still appreciative of the option. My food was very delicious. The white sauce for the linguini was amazing. One of the better Alfredo sauces I've had in this lifetime. The shrimp Parmesan was so so. I felt like it could've used maybe a little bit more seasoning but honestly paired with the pasta. I had no complaints. The restaurant definitely has a family feel and I got the impression that a lot of the patrons are regulars. I don't live in the area, but if I'm ever there again, I would certainly return.

There is a to go area, bathroom, and then indoor seating area. They have merchandise behind the register. Started with the tuna nachos and crab rangoon mozzarella sticks. Tuna was good quality and had a good coating of sesame seeds. My perfect bite was tuna, orange sauce, seaweed, tomato, & onion. The chips were perfectly crispy. The crab rangoon was surprisingly good. This appetizer is what made me pick this place. Such a good combination. Didn't need the marinera sauce. Next up soups. Lobster bisque was ok. I guess I was expecting it to be a little more rich. But it was good, it tasted exactly like lobster and I got good chunks in the soup too. Now the shrimp and corn chowder was super flavorful. Favorite dish of the meal. For mains, cold lobster roll and two tails w butter and side salad. Side salad was well dressed and I appreciate the ribbons of Parmesan. The lobster was mostly cooked right. There was one that was a bit chewy. Added salt and butter but felt like something was missing still. I couldn't find a good combo of toppings to go with the lobster. The cold lobster roll was alright. The potato bread added a good sweet flavor that complimented the lobster. Overall a decent meal.
