I visited North Houston Imaging Center on North Loop West on August 18th for a brain MRI and had a great experience. The personnel were excellent - especially Yuri at the front desk, who was bilingual, professional, and very helpful. The facility is a little older but very clean, organized, and well-maintained. The machines are updated, and they give clear instructions, which made the process smooth. Parking was easy with plenty of space available. I appreciate that it's a smaller imaging center - it avoids the typical large-center bureaucracy and feels more personal and one-on-one with staff. As a self-pay patient, I also value that they worked with me financially, which is rare and greatly appreciated. Overall, I highly recommend this facility and plan to have my imaging procedures done here moving forward. read more

I am only giving it one star because I can't give zero stars. November, 2023, had a nerve block with Joon Lee. I'm a 6', 240 lb. male. They didn't secure me to the table. He hit the nerve in my spine and the pain was so excruciating that I passed out and fell off the table. Tore both meniscus in my knee, had surgery, physical therapy but I was left with a permanent limp and constant pain. Lee claimed it never happened and I had no proof my injury happened there. read more

I was in on Friday for an MRI of my neck and upper back. Everyone was so professional, polite, and helpful. I was super nervous and Erica took so much time with me to make sure I was ready. Letting me sit for a longer time so the meds could take effect to relax me. I have been dreading this MRI for awhile but they made it tolerable and comfortable for me. They all have such patience. I have never been here before but they were reasonably priced compared to the $1,300 MRI the hospital wanted me to pay out of pocket-- so I decided to give them a try. I will say I had a long wait past my appointment time but these are things that are out of their hands (and also I didn't have to pay $1,300 so I wasn't complaining). A patient moved while getting an MRI and when you move, you have to start over. It put them behind and they let me know so I was not upset about this. They actually let me leave to eat and I got back RIGHT on time because it was my turn to go! The staff was very nice, they were all professional and answered all the questions I had. I could've been upset about the long wait but why would I waste my time and energy getting upset with people who can only do so much? It's their job to get good images. I'm glad they take it seriously and take the time they need to get the images our doctors need. read more

This place is so "low rent" and unacceptable that my words can never fully describe my experience with these people. Here is exactly what you can expect from these type of employees. Rude, uneducated, unprofessional, inattentive, many barely have a grasp of the English language, expect to have to explain things to the staff 2-3 times at least. Their motto is "Patient comfort and care is our main focus." Bull! I am buck-a$$ naked in a half robe falling off with a sweet innocent 3-year old girl staring at me as I am in full exposure!!! DO NOT bring your children here specifically for this reason!!! This is just one example of how the staff operates here. I also have never met the doctor nor would they provide the name to protect him from me contacting with The Texas Medical Board for any complaints, notices of violation s, or enforcement actions against against him. This is a major red flag for me. This place is filthy even though staff claim they thoroughly clean every day. I have a very high standard of what is clean. Especially when they require patients to be fully naked. There is zero indications that machines are fully cleaned after each naked patient. This is disturbing to say the least. Especially with the rampant increase of drug resistant MRSA infections ongoing in the Houston area. The staff here will laugh at you if you mention your concern. This is NOT a place to use unless you absolutely need to. I hope and pray that this review is a thorough warning with specific information of my experience, observation and opinion. After reading some of the negative reviews on Yelp, I wonder if we all went to the same place. I guess I would caution people to try and get an appointment earlier in the day if they are concerned about waiting a long time. The staff and office were professional and courteous. I got a knee MRI and as I said, the staff couldn't have been more professional or on their toes. I waited maybe 15 minutes in the waiting room, and maybe 15 minutes more after being checked in. My experience at North Houston Imaging Center was mixed, however they get one star because they're simply not professional. My chiropractor in the Heights referred me to them, I assume simply because they're nearby. I tried to pull them up on the internet but apparently they do not have a website. In addition, they do not have an email address posted anywhere--I prefer to schedule appointments via email rather than wait on a phone. With no email available, I had to call at which point I was told, "We don't do appointments, just walk in." What kind of system is that? I just so happened to get lucky when I came in at 5PM and no one was in the waiting room. They told me X-rays are $35 and then proceeded to take them though they did not indicate how many they were taking. I originally thought it would only be 2--one of my hip and one of my lower back but they took a total of 5. Then as I was leaving I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that my insurance should cover 90% and I should cover 10% so I should only pay about $15. She responded saying, "Oh, I don't know what your insurance will get charged for this, it's $35 if you pay for them." It's a little shady that they charge a different price for cash customers vs. insurance but it's worse that they don't have the capability to run your insurance and tell you exactly what you'll owe like a normal doctor's office. I left thinking that I would be able to look at the x-rays with my chiropractor at the next appointment I had with her. When I discussed with my chiropractor, she only had a print out of notes from the doctor that looked at X-rays. I didn't ask her at the time if we could look at them, but a couple weeks later I decided I wanted a copy for my own records so I called North Houston Imaging and asked if they could email them to me. The lady on the phone responded, "We don't email x-rays" Me: "So can I come by and pick up a copy of the set" Lady: "Sure but that's 25 dollars. You can get a copy from your doctor." Me: "My chiropractor only had a text print out, I never saw any actual x-rays, did you send them to her." Lady: "We only send the report unless the doctor requests the x-rays." Me: "So you never sent her the x-rays. Fine, can I pick up the originals from you guys then." Lady: "You can but that's 10 dollars." Me: "I've already paid you take the x-rays and now you're telling me that if I want the actual records I need to pay you again?" Lady: "Sir, I'm just doing my job, thank you for calling." At this point she hung up on me and I was furious enough that I took to yelp--I don't generally write negative reviews but this experience was bad enough that it warranted one. I will be following up with them and demanding they turn over the medical records as they belong to me, not them, since I've already paid them for their services. read more

I have taken my friend twice to have services performed at this imaging center. The first day, her appointment was scheduled for 1:00. We were there for 3 1/2 hours for a 30 minute procedure. Today, she was scheduled for 1:30. The office called after we were already on the way to reschedule her for 3:30. The person doing her procedure didn't even show up until 4:30. It is now 5:00 and we are still here. Another lady in the waiting room came from Rosenburg. When she went to the window to check in, they told her they could not do her procedure even though she had an appointment. Stay away unless you really enjoy waiting. read more

After an hour of waiting they slide their door open and give me documents to sign. I waited for 3 hours to get an MRI which I paid 400 bucks for. I waited because I had already paid. Oh their reason for the long wait... A surprise inspection. Yet other people were being attended. Never coming back. read more

I wouldn't give a star if I didn't need it to leave a review. It's been more than a month and my father's Dr. sent orders for and MRI and they have yet to schedule him or let me know if the insurance pre-auth was done. I've called and called and all I get is "we'll call you back" and no one ever does. My father needs this done as his condition is the same if not worse. I've even spoken to the Office Manager and have yet to hear back. I'm done with trying to be serviced by them. Heed the warning and do not attempt to be serviced here. This is a health care facility and not a government agency. The lack of urgency and follow up is horrendous. This place needs to close or Management needs to clean house. read more

Don't. Just don't come to this place. 2.5 hours of my life wasted. If there could be zero stars that is what they would receive. Common courtesy is when you check a patient in say "We are behind and its going to be a 3 hr wait passed the time we were scheduled." So that way I can reschedule. Horrible. read more

After using North Houston Imaging on two occasions, it seems like I need to speak up on their behalf. The first time i experienced this business, was when experiencing (for the first time ever) a large insurance deductible and would have to pay out of pocket for the CT scan needed. After calling around, the insurance company recommended NHIC. After much research, I find that the charges for this type of service are often connected to the zip code. It becomes a different process when you are self-paying and, until this year, I would have perhaps not experienced this location. So none of my experience is tied to the interaction between the NHIC and the insurance companies or requirements for approval..but strictly from the viewpoint of a cost conscious consumer in pain. My second visit was two weeks ago for an MRI and x-ray series. I was given an accurate estimate on the phone, given a quick appointment, seen on time and met by very friendly and efficient office staff and technicians. The results were sent in a timely manner, the following day as promised, and one of the top orthopedic surgeons in the city and in the world of sports medicine, had no problem with the imaging. These two visits were over a year apart and were very similar. It was a busy waiting room full of patients who did not seem to understand what was needed from them (id cards, SS cards, or even doctors requests for specific tests). All I can say is that my dealings were just fine and I tell EVERYONE I speak to who needs one of these tests to ....not get put off by the location....take your patience along, just in case....and you will be very pleased by the quality and value given at a significant savings. I spent $400 for what was being quoted in 3 other offices at $650. read more

1st time - not too bad. wait reasonable. 2nd time wait so-so. Pre-authorization a flop because they missed that the insurance company giving rejected approval did not match existing insurance coverage. 3rd time - HORRIBLE....1) did not do pre-approval early, computers down, so reschedule 2) reschedule appt... pre-approval done, but waited a long time. Results not sent to doctor who wrote orders for test. We had to have the dr. fax request for results. Results from 2nd time sent instead of results from 3rd time. Waited at dr. office for them to deliver results... Now need a 4th MRI and dr. requested we go somewhere with better quality imaging. (Not to mention better service.) read more
