Went to the deli section to place our order and can I ask a question. Does it really take 30 minutes to make a sandwich? It seemed like the workers were working at snail speed. Everyone had a stank look on their face and looked very unhappy. Not saying you have to be bright at the job but it felt very off putting. After standing in line like we were at in an amusement park, finally got our sandwiches sat down and enjoyed them very much. The Island Baja has the perfect amount of ingredients in the sandwich, tasted so fresh and so delicious. The tomato, cucumber, sprouts, baja mayo sauce, avacado and chicken was such a good combo and it wasn't to filling which is perfect. Mrs. Gorger got the tuna sandwich and I personally don't like tuna but that HIT the spot. It was very tasty. Overall, food was amazing and would definitely go back there again. Always look forward to buying a deli sandwich during my lunch break but just for them to take my order takes them at least 10 minutes! Mind you, I only get a 30 minute lunch break. And the prepping time takes them 15 minutes! That's already 25 minutes wasted of my lunch just waiting for my sandwich. Today I order a Turkey Wrap. Took them 5 whole minutes for them to take my order and a whole 10 minutes to make my wrap. There was no line for sandwiches except an order of two sandwiches but all I saw were the workers chitchatting amongst each other instead of prepping (hence doing their job). Got my wrap and paid which took less than 2 minutes. While eating my wrap I noticed that my wrap didn't even have turkey in it. Headed over to the deli to see if they could make me a new one but immediately turned around because their workers were just chitchatting with each other and there was already a long line of people waiting on their order. Just went to the cashier to ask for my refund. Didn't even take a picture because I was already so disappointed and frustrated that I just wanted my money back. I really do hope that the deli service gets better.

I ended up getting double charged for my groceries which I discovered when I got home. (Through no mistake by the staff) . I called and spoke to the great female staff person who was trying to help me out in the store. She had Naoia (? Manager) who was very helpful & was able to cancel the extra charge to my credit card. It is not often you find people who go out of their way to make one customer happy - they could have told me to work it with my credit card company - they did not. Professionalism , kindness and great customer service goes a long way & Coronado Smart & Final has it in spades!!

Employees there are definitely rude and sarcastic which brought down the experience of going there. They do have a patio but there are a good amount of homeless people around there so not sure if eating your lunch there is the best idea.

I suppose that is a necessary evil given the homeless problem in and around the store. For folks like me who just need to pee, it was a real hassle. We live in Coronado so obviously we weren't taking it back so it all got thrown away. We also bought 8 avocados and 5 of them were black inside. They didn't feel soft like we had to hurry up and eat them but they were more hard firm like they still needed to sit out but my husband want to eat guacamole so I opened 1 thinking it would be still firm and green inside but it was firm and black. So we lost several dollars and learned our lesson! I'll stick to La Vallarta where I know their pan dulce is freshly made with fresh products daily and I've yet to get hard black avocados from them, I just pay a bit more for better product. This morning at 7:30 I came to the Walgreens to get some items and both doors were closed. I made eye contact with one of the store associates at the register and instead of acknowledging me, he looked back down. I knocked on the door and he just shook his head at me, indicating he wouldn't be opening the doors. I took a picture of the hours on the window and that prompted him to come outside. He informed me they had had a power outage and were attempting to get the registers back up and working. Understandable. I said thanks and walked back to my car, only to watch more customers do exactly what I had just done and stand by the doors that didn't open. What does it take to write on a piece of paper that the store is currently closed due to a power outage and put it up on the doors? Lights are on, employees are in there staring at you through closed doors.... This place is mismanaged and the employees are SO lazy. I've been in the store many times waiting in a line to check out where one employee is at a register and the other employees are hanging around. Keep in mind they have 4 registers. It might be time to start thinking about implementing self check outs. This store is always very stocked and has a lot of options which makes it a good choice, but I would avoid it if I could. I drove across the street after this to Vons and got what I needed.
