He gave us all the hard and overcooked bits and pieces that nobody wanted!
    Geronimo C.

Went to this store to get their carnitas family meal which consisted of a pound of carnitas with your choice of salsa and a dozen tortillas included. The guy behind the counter told me to choose a small tub of salsa which was in the fridge next to the counter. As I was doing that, he had already wrapped up a pound of carnitas and put it in the bag along with the tortillas. When we got home and opened the bag to eat, we discovered that he gave us the worst inedible parts, all the overcooked, burned, hardest bits and pieces that no one wanted. Every piece was rock hard and super dry! Couldn't eat it. If you're not Mexican , make sure you pay close attention when they prepare your food. Watch closely or you might end up taking home worthless and inedible food like we did. I would have given them zero stars if I could.

I've been coming to this Northgate for the past couple months AMAZING STAFF but unfortunately today I got the special torta with a agua and I noticed on my wrap something toasted with wings ??? It looks like a fly or roach grilled because I got the carne asada and bread toasted I'm disgusted.....

    Worms
    Leslie G.

Ordered 3 pounds of marinaded pollo and 3 pounds of adobada to cook at home for a reunion. While we were cooking it, we found worms in the pork. We ended up tossing the pork, because there were so many worms and we didn't want to get sick. We did cook the chicken, and some people who chanced it said it was good. There's cartilage in the chicken, but after seeing the worms, I could not eat it. I was too scared. I will say, I have eaten here before and I didn't have a problem, but I also didn't inspect my food like my friend did who was cooking the meat. I would never eat here again.

Gloria, the manager at Northgate Chula Vista

I was just at northgate and I felt totally discriminated by Gloria the manager. She opened a new register and I was just there next to her, she just walked next to me and I said I'm next and she ignored me. I even followed her and she never looked at me. Is sad when your own kind discriminates you. Poor her. She might be very unhappy working at northgate. God bless.

I'm recently back in San Diego for work and brought some co-workers here for lunch telling them how good their food is. It did not disappoint. It's a grocery store with a restaurant inside. So, it can get kind of loud, but that's not an issue. Matter of fact he only issue they had was no lengua tacos lol. So, I ordered 2 carnitas and one carne asada combo, which included rice and beans. Puls a drink all for just over $13. A great deal. Uws, they were street tacos, but it was still a very good portion. So much so that you can split them and make 6 tacos. Rice and beans were also tasty enough. .y friends e joyed what they ordered, also. A chicken burrito, 6 carne asada tacos, and a quesadilla. We all left full and satisfied. If you haven't been, give it a go.

The one supermarket you will find at the close distance to the trolley and bus transport in the Vario .

What area of San Diego has the many art pieces that are about the neighborhood? For the one store that had the connection to the many bakery restaurant items the Northgate Market for one place that does all their own cooking and baking . Many of the stores that I have found are the many products that are produced by the market when you have a market that bakes in house better the products. Visiting the Vario Logan area it has one of the many historical buildings for the Vario you have many paintings that have been placed through the block by local artists . For the Northgate market is one of the many that are in the Vario you can buy many products and those that are freshly baked Northfarebis one of the many markets you can live the times of the 60s 70s 80s. Going to the store was one that I found the many products for the dishes and the cooking of the manuly dishes the many custo.ees buying cuts of meat and dry goods to the freshly made baked goods which are some of the best . With the many people that work at Northgate they can help you gettings down from the top shelves most people can't reach top shelves . Asking about the baked goods the store can help you with the meaning of the products the great flavors they have freshly baked items are the best for grocery stores . Visiting and shopping at Northgate the many Isles they have for great bargains finding a great grocery store that makes baked goods you can have a better taste of what Northgate is all about . Being s Yelp Elite Reviewer the many places over the years I have found they deal with distributors for a place that makes fresh much more great tasting and customer service above other stores of the City and the state .

We love coming here! We have tried the ceviche , salsas , guacamole and aqua frescas. It's perfect to pick up for a party or having family over for lunch. Just take a number but sometimes there isn't a wait. Staff is always super friendly!

WHEN IN NEED OF MEXICAN GOODS ... this be the store to hit up. Perfectly nested in a historic Hispanic neighborhood where there is new development. - ceviche - tamales - champurrado - conchas I love their tamales. Hot and ready to eat! Many flavors: chicken, beef, cheese, corn, sweet. And especially this time of the year they serve Mexican champurrado. Who knew tamales and champurrado go hand-in-hand during the Christmas season. So I've taken upon myself to have both through the month of December! Until the next review...

The kouign amann had an interesting burnt caramelized crunch on top. The croissant didn't have a very strong pistachio or strawberry flavor, but the texture was decent. My favorite pastry was the peach and vanilla tile, as the peaches were sweet and refreshing and complemented the vanilla well.

While the coffee didn't win me over, I'd still come back to give their desserts a try since they looked much more appealing than the drink I ordered. The espresso had a really good, high-quality flavor, and the banana cold foam was naturally sweet without being overly sweet or tasting artificial. It actually had little pieces of real banana in it, which I wasn't expecting, but I loved the bit of texture they added. I really, really enjoyed this latte and would absolutely order it again. The chocolate croissant was also really good. It was very fluffy, light and flaky, and the croissant itself was baked perfectly! But the cookie croissant was AMAZING and definitely the standout pastry. It wasn't quite what I expected, but that ended up being what made it so good. The outside of the croissant was perfectly baked--light, crispy, fluffy and just barely browned, exactly how I want a croissant to be. The cookie inside was incredibly soft and almost had the texture and flavor of eating a big spoonful of cookie dough. It wasn't actually undercooked, but seemed like it was baked to just barely done, which I think was perfect. I imagine they have to balance cooking the cookie without overcooking the croissant. I also loved that they used miniature chocolate chips. You got little bits of chocolate throughout every bite without ever getting a huge chunk of chocolate that overwhelmed everything else. My absolute favorite part of the cookie croissant, though, was the base underneath where the cookie sits. There's a thin, flat layer of croissant pastry that is a little denser than the flaky outside and almost has the texture of pie crust, while still having that buttery croissant flavor. It made the whole thing feel almost like a cookie pie inside a croissant. Between the light crispy and flaky outside, the soft doughy cookie center and that slightly denser buttery pastry layer underneath, you get all these different textures in the same bite. It's such a cool combination and genuinely delicious. 10/10, I would absolutely get it again. I'm already back in New Mexico and genuinely wish I had another one! Service was fast and it was an enjoyable space to be in. Overall, I would absolutely come back.
