This place is fantastic. My husband has a bit of a penchant for animal skin boots (eel, lizard, etc), which are expensive and expensive to repair when the heels and soles wear out. The owners here do a great job with those fixes, but they also consistently go above and beyond by patching up or re-gluing the interior linings and shining the boots all over. The boots always look brand new (sometimes better than new). As for my high heels, I just can't say enough about what a great job they do. They're fast, reasonably priced, and provide the same extra services that they do for my husband's boots (re-gluing the insoles, shining the shoes, getting out the scuff marks) free of charge. Had worn heels replaced on my boots. Be advised you must pay in advance. I asked to have insoles re-glued as they were curling up at the heels. She said no problem, but when I picked them up she said they couldn't get the glue inside the boot. What? No money back for not doing the whole job. I guess that's why they take your money in advance. I glued it myself, but I will go elsewhere next time. Two stars since they replaced the heels and shined the boots, although $25 might be on the high side. read more

This place is quick and convenient. I went in on a Thursday at 1 pm and asked about having my heels cut down. The lady explained anything over a half an inch would alter the balance of the shoe. I told her I needed them back by Friday at 1pm (next day). I Went back Friday, the shoes were cut down & they were much more comfortable and bearable. Overall great experience despite the reviews left. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because you have to pay upfront, and they don't do refunds. read more

I dropped off two pair of shoes to be polished before going out of town on a business trip. I brought them to Northpoint Shoe Repair, paid in advance and arrived hours later at our agreed time. This is where I made my first mistake, I should have looked at the shoes and inspected what I expected. A few hours later I find that they have not been polished (latest scuffs still,present). After a quick call to the store and a response that I was not expecting..."bring them back to the store and I will show you that they were polished" I am going out of town with unpolished shoes and a store that I will not patron again. read more

Took a pair of men's shoes in to get non-skid heels put on them ($25.00). Got them home and the sole of one shoe was 1/2 was pulled off. Took them back and was told not their fault but would glue it back on for $10.00. One star was lowest I could give them--would have chosen 0 star. $30 to replace the heel on a pair of $80 shoes. When I dropped them off I was told the cost also covers a thorough cleaning of shoes. When I picked them up, yes the heel was fixed but condition of shoe was same as when I dropped them off. The lady had the audacity to try and tell me that the marks on the shoe were "natural". Yes, that is a quote. Instead of arguing I stepped outside the store, and with my thumb and a little "natural" lubricant was able to remove one of the spots. Went back in store to show her how simple it was and prove that they in no way shape or form made any attempt to clean these shoes. No offer of a refund or discount. So I left there having paid $30 for two rubber heel replacements, 6 tacks, and maybe 5min worth of labor. You might say this was a one off case of their service, but why take the chance. I have to give a star to post this but can't help feeling ripped off. read more

I actually came across this business as I was searching Yelp for ANOTHER place to have my heels repaired. I used this place a few months ago, mainly because it was convenient. I wasn't crazy about paying in advance, but it's the policy. Was also surprised it would take three days to replace the heel cap on a pair of pumps! Actually only one shoe required fixing, but they replaced both anyway and charged me for both. On another note...the owners are seriously not friendly. My shoes looked fine when I got them, but imagine my surprise when the entire heel broke off on one shoe when I wore them the first time! Probably a coincidence, but still odd as the shoes were pretty new. Anyway...not ever going back...and now searching for a new place. read more

I gave a high rating because the owners are kind hearted. The rating would have been perfect if their pricing was more reasonable, but successfully running a small business in the world of department store tailors seems very difficult to achieve without large margins. The suit I purchased was a slim fit that was contoured fairly well to my body, but like any amateur suit purchaser I opted to bring it here for additional tailoring. The alterations seemed minimal, but the rates were flat. $20 for pants, $30 for the jacket. It took about 4 days to be ready and I had a chance to try it on again when I came for the pick up. I was not fully satisfied and the owner was kind enough to make the final tweaks while I waited in-store. The location is near the mall entrance of Sears and is the first shop on the left if you are entering from the parking lot. I cannot tell if I would have been more satisfied with the outcome if the price was cheaper, but it beats having a suit tailored by department store employees who lack proper tools and experience. read more

I brought a pair of ugg-style shearling boots to have the sole re-glued. The shoes were basically brand new other than the sole detaching which happened right after I bought them. When I picked up the boot that was defective, they had done an extremely messy, poor job. There was dark colored shoe glue seaped up onto the edge of the leather that you could see, and they actually scuffed and damaged the leather piping all around the edge during the gluing/repairing process. The sole is glued tight, but the repaired boot looks terrible compared to the other boot due to the damage and glue mess. Terrible!!!
