Lewisville office is OK Denton office was ridiculous. never went to flower mound ..But my advice is keep all statements and ask for a receipt every time and keep up with them even for after not going for years, because I recently have had a collections put on my credit which dropped my score 66 ...i pay extra for a credit app and figured out who claims I owe them and sent it to collections and it showed the 3rd party name they sold too so I did a bit more digging and saw north pointe psychiatry, so I called immediately to ask why in the world were they saying I have $156 balance that's now in collections , i had government insurance the first 15 months I was a patient there so it was 100% covered and after I lost that I was self-pay for many years after and you will NOT be seen and get your refills unless paid in full prior to seeing the doc... not only that, I can recall a few years ago the office lady (one of the many that they've had) tried to say I had a balance of 300 something dollars and I asked her to show me where because I am self-pay and you're not seen unless you pay and she couldn't because it was not true and that was the end of that ..well now after not going for almost a year they're trying to state I owe $156. When I call and asked what date and I would like proof that I owe the gentleman in the billing department told me what day it was this balance was owed from and I had my bank statements pulled up on the app and told him he was wrong and I could send him proof right now then all of a sudden it turned into he needed to get my phone number and he will be contacting me because that really wasn't the correct date I owed a different day ...WOW!!!! and it's absolutely BS and I am extremely upset if owed I absolutely would pay. I have the money but i refuse paying for something twice, not to mention it was $135 office visit in a $30 UA how would I only owe them 120 so you mean to tell me according to him I was able to pay like $45 and still be seen and receive my refills... that's a bold face lie, their office didn't work that way. I really hope to be receiving a call soon because this needs to be removed immediately. read more

Dr. Shelly Sanders-- If you're looking for the stereotypical experience of being mistreated by a psychiatrist and ignored by the office staff, ask for Shelly Sanders at the Lewisville location. She was running too late to see me so my first appointment had to be rescheduled. In the last 5 minutes of that rescheduled appointment, she told me she believes I have 2 conditions and started me on medication that could make my symptoms worse without informing me that 1) she can't diagnose the conditions she's medicating me for and without educating me 2) to confirm my conditions with a neuro-psych prior to starting medication that could make my situation worse. At the end of my first and only appointment with Sanders, she gave me her card and said she'd be happy to answer any questions I had which was a blatant lie--not only did she refuse to communicate with me when I emailed her asking for understanding around her decisions (I explained in my email that I needed Sanders' reply prior to confirming my second scheduled appointment with her), but instead had her office staff email to inform me that I am now another doctor's patient and I will receive a call soon from the Flower Mound location to reschedule the appointment that I had booked with Sanders later that week which Sanders cancelled on me. I waited on that call for a week until I decided to ring the Flower Mound location myself, when Alexis informed me that the Lewisville staff never communicated to the Flower Mound staff about transferring me to their patient load...I was waiting on help that would never come. P.S. I was referred to Sanders by a friend who has been her patient for 5 years--if Sanders treats her patient referrals this way, she'll treat anyone this way. You have been warned. Alexis with the Flower Mound staff was kind enough to listen to my plight and affirm the trustworthiness of the Dr. Islam whom I saw today. He gave me enough time to answer all my questions and educate me. I have to say that I am feeling MUCH better about being a North Pointe Psychiatry patient under his care. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would do just that! There is no phone number to speak to anyone. All needs to be left in voicemail and they don't respond in a timely manner. They have gone home for the day on a Friday and didn't call my RX in that is required to take daily. So we went all weekend without our medication. Now I can't get them to call in our RX when we had our follow up appt 3 days prior. Front office staff is RUDE and couldn't care less what anyone that walks through that door says or does. To be honest, I am fed up. The front office staff at the Flower Mound Location are unorganized and cant get it together. They are always messing up appointments and never answer the phone. They do not care about the patients and make you feel like they are providing you with a free service when you are a paying client. I miss the days when Erika was working there and she seemed to be the only one that actually cared to do her job. they need to bring her back. As psychiatry goes, this office is probably the best we've seen. Dr. Islam is attentive, caring and answers his number personally. Dr. Shah is supremely knowledgeable and always listens closely to any and all concerns. I wish our special needs children could be off medication but they can't. He prescribed medication inorder to create brain fog and disconnected higher thinkers from their own source of reason and intellect. This is the biggest issue in psychiatrist today! I can't express how frustrating it is to deal with this office. You have to chase them down with multiple calls before they answer. Then if they don't have a answer to your question, they say my now lease favorite phrase ' I'll call you back.' THEY NEVER CALL YOU BACK! You have to call and chase them down again. I was contracted out to the Flower Mound location for care through the VA. It started out great and the office was clean. However, before my last appointment, they called and said my VA contract had expired. I was given the choice to cancel and wait while they filed a continuation of care with the VA or pay out of pocket. I said im going to cancel as the VA pays for my appointments. The doctor called me anyway with their office manager Lexi in the room and I explained I thought the appointment was cancelled because of my contract. well two weeks later I got a bill for that appointment. about 2 months go by and by now I have left four voicemails for the office manager asking about my contract and explained I'm about out of refills. no calls back. Finally, I call and made an appointment out of pocket. The doctor Michelle White went and got the office manager Lexi on the phone as well. Lexi stated she had personal issues and someone else should have returned my calls. The doctor did no address anything so before we hung up, I asked for a refill on my meds. She said Well whos going to pay for them. I said the VA will take care of that. she did send one refill in and then said I will not fill your Lunesta for insomnia because is a controlled substance. Keep in mind I've been on that med for 2 years. The doctor said Well, I hope it doesn't mess with your sleep too much. this was the final straw. I am now back under the care of the VA mental health department and am launching a formal complaint. read more

My doctor set up an appointment for me to be seen and evaluated at North Pointe. Once I arrived I was told that to see him it would be a few more weeks at the Lewisville location and that I would be seeing a Nurse Practitioner that day. At first I wanted to reschedule because I wasn't comfortable with seeing a Nurse for what I had going on, but the office manager in Lewisville (Chelsea) went into detail about the Nurse Practitioner, her credentials, and previous workplaces. She also made it clear that I could be rescheduled to see the doctor at an earlier date at their new office in Flower Mound if I felt uncomfortable. I decided to stay and I was glad I did. Her and Anita (Nurse Practitioner) were so accommodating, and so far I have seen her multiple times and was able to see the doctor as well. Chelsea was very patient with me because I asked a lot of questions, and she was very open and honest about their practice. read more

My husband is a disabled veteran who goes here. Honestly we are disappointed. he goes to his appointment and then waits for his medication to be called in. So many times the doctor does not get it sent to the pharmacy and he has to go without his medication. It's a medication that has withdrawal effects too. And then they are closed and you can't get any help until the next business day. They don't seem like they care much about their patients wellbeing. read more

This is by far the worst provider I've had the misfortune to visit for health care in my 74 years. Not only couldn't my Dr. Speak legible English she insisted I continue a medication my body couldn't tolerate. After my third visit I could only end my association with North Pointe in Lewisville and seek a more capable provider. I thought that would end my problems with North Pointe but their billing department that was another person who' could not speak intelligible English in New Jersey. Their billing department couldn't code their bills to my insurance company and that has cost me many MANY hours on the phone trying to resolve their errors and although the Lewisville office reports a ZERO Balance on my account, the billing department is incapable of sending the unpaid portion of my Medicare bill to be paid by Medicaid the responsible insurance for that portion of my bill. Today I had to file a grievance against NLP and I'd checked reviews about them before visited. The only credible reviews here are 1star and that's 2 too many. Deplorable Facility ... Twice I have had to go there on person to straighten things out. Also the office is small. The waiting room is often crowded and they do the intake interviews in their break room. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE MAKING OR ATTENDING AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS OFFICE!!! Would have given zero stars had that been an option. Friday afternoon, 2: 30 p.m., have left the office 4 messages about my medications which need refill. Worth noting, you will NEVER reach anyone on the office line, only voicemail. Great business pratice for dealing with ill patients! Oh, and good luck getting a returned call. This is not the first time they have done this but as of today, it will be the last. These so called "medical professionals" don't have a clue when dealing with the mentally compromised. Today I had a scheduled telephone appt. at 1:30 p.m., instead of my drug dispensing, legalized dealing really, counselor, I got a woman calling me about an almost 300 dollar bill. Apparently, I had co-pays for every visit going back to January which I knew nothing about. When my insurance changed at the first of the year I specifically asked the office staff about any potential co-pays going forward, I had no co-pay with my previous provider, and was told they would bill UHC and let me know. Again, nothing has been said about any outstanding balance until today's med. visit when I got this "pay your bill" call instead. What kind of rinky-dink operation is this? This is a psychiatry office where I have never met or seen the doctor who lists his name on the business. Undoubtedly, this "doctor" spends his day on the golf course and at the end of the day just signs off on all script written by his dominions. The woman I spoke with today has apparently also missed her med. visit based on her demeanor. Had I been told upon each visit there was a co-pay, going back to January, it would have been paid. Post visit, when scheduling for another appt., that would have been the time to make me aware of any balance due like a normal doctor's office. You don't wait for six months and then spring it on me by phone call when I should be speaking with my counselor. I would have been willing to work with them on any balance due had this been handled as discussed. The approach taken with me today will result in payment when you can pry my last penny from my cold dead hand!!! You see, approach really IS everything!!! Who does this? They really don't care!!! These people are well aware of the fact that they are dispensing medications that you must be weened off of yet they would leave patients without returned phone calls or refills on a Friday afternoon. Needless to say, I did NOT get my med. visit and was instead yelled at by a woman who isn't worthy of the skin she is in. Nuff said about her. Do you really want to put yourself yourself through this B.S. when you are already fragile? Call somewhere else who actually cares. There are worthy doctor's out there but God help us all, you gotta dig for 'em. Having said all of this, I do plan on pursuing this B.S. through every avenue available including filing a formal complaint with state. Sooner or later people are going to realize that this treatment is the real mental health crisis in this country. These people take zero responsibility for the crisis they create. Here's the deal...I am bipolar. I am in need of my medication. Medication that you and I both know I should not go without. You have NOT provided my medication that I can not go without. You call and thouroughly upset me by not providing me with care but instead a bill I know NOTHING about. You proceed to present yourself in the most obnoxious manner possible on a bill I knew NOTHING about. After a hang up call, I contact the office a total of five times with no returned call and NO medication dispensed. You have left me without care and without medication, again! and people wonder why there are so many shootings? Look no further than a medical office JUST LIKE THIS ONE!!! Hi, I take my teenage daughter to North Point monthly. The ladies in the office are patient and knowledgeable about the Drs' and times needed for what appointments. They are courteous and fun to interact with. The office itself is clean. The Dr's give the time you need. I've been to a lot of PDOCs and therapists, so I know how it is. You always have a hard time determining who really cares about you, sometimes you and a PDOC / therapist won't mesh well, etc. But I did want to give a good review for North Pointe Psychiatry (the Lewisville location), because I think they deserve it. I see Dr. Carnika, and the very first visit told her I was sick of PDOCs and meds and just wanted to get off of everything. At that point in my life I was having a really difficult time adjusting to my new meds, and was having all these side effects, and I was just done with it all. Dr. Carnika said that that was totally okay and willing to help me with that. Since then she's helped me get off certain medications that I was addicted to. I've learned through reading books that my disorder is something I'm pretty much going to need to stay on medications on, so I am staying on them, but it is awesome that she was at least willing to help me get off of all meds, or stay on them, whichever I prefer. I've thanked her for this, and she said that it's whatever the patient's goals are in the end, which I really truly appreciate. She's a great doctor. Brett is an awesome therapist too. Being on meds is tough, and it's always tough trying to figure out who cares about you, if you should even stay on meds, etc., but this place is pretty good. I had an encounter in the waiting room once where someone with some sort of mental disability or retardation was throwing his fists in the air and in some sort of distress, and I was with my girlfriend at the time, and we got scared he was going to hurt someone (he got very close to us), but his caretakers came into the room and escorted him out. That wasn't really fault of the office, more so the caretakers fault for paying the office staff in a different room while not watching him, but I do wish maybe the office staff would have told the caretakers to watch him more closely. Besides that though, the office staff is very nice, much nicer than previous office staff of other PDOCs I've been to. Some issues with billing here and there, and reaching my PDOC on the phone, but no place is perfect, and as long as I have a good PDOC and a good office staff, I think that's what makes a good location for a mental doctor office or whatever. The waiting time is not too terribly bad. As long as you take care of your shit, and come in with the questions you want answered, and do research on the meds you are on or are suggested to take, and are firm with what your goals are, you should have good service here. Just remember to do your own research, and that everyone responds to medications differently. This place isn't absolutely perfect, I don't think any place is, but a good PDOC that is willing to help you reach your goals, and nice office staff is enough for me, and that's what you have here. read more

Dr islam is a great psychiatrist. He diagnosed me correctly with psychosis after I was misdiagnosed with bipolar disorder. He is very knowledgeable about medication and keeps in touch with your life circumstances. The only negative is that it's hard to get in touch with the staff sometimes because they don't answer the phone but besides that it's great. read more

Our experience with North Point Psychiatry was not reflected in this mission statement. They were not thoughtful made us leave even though the patient was in a medical crisis and had an appointment, because Marian Fabyan would rather go home than treat a patient in need. Not competent I made sure to let the State Medical Board know that. Compassionate ha! Marian Fabyan cared less if the patient she sent home, kill them selves as long as she was home in time to watch her shows. It is medical "professionals" like this, that are in it for the wrong reasons that people die or kill others. Marian Fabyan should not only lose her job, but be stripped of her medical license. read more

I have been going to North Pointe Psychiatry for over 3 years at the Denton location. From Day 1, I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. My doctor and I have worked together to find a treatment plan that works best for me and she makes adjustments as needed. Rachel and Kareena in the front office are very efficient, helpful and friendly. They make sure I have everything I need and always assist me in making my next appointment. I would not recommend this office or doctor to anyone. We loved seeing the nurse practitioners but not Dr Asad Islam who owns the practice in Lewisville and Denton. Sadly the nurse practitioners whom we were seeing for the past four years have moved on to greener pastures. Dr Islam failed to refill our son's RX for sleeping meds during his appointment and then never did so following multiple calls and messages to his office. Our son has not slept. We are going on 5 days without the RX as of today. The staff does not answer the phone most of the time and calls are not returned very quickly. read more

This is the worst office management ever! It's impossible to get refills called in and if your trying to talk to someone on the phone, forget it. They are rude and no one is on the same page. They are offering discounts on copays if you rate them a 5 star on Google because they had such bad reviews. Dr. Anita is very caring & takes the time to listen & give sound advice instead of just prescribing pills to fix everything. Its a little hard to get in contact with the office by phone so I try to get all meds & questions taken care of while I'm in the office. Other than that its great. read more
