Got my wisdom teeth extracted and it went incredibly well, my mouth only hurt for a few days and nothing beyond that, and the surgery itself was barely a challenge. Dr. Montazem's assistants are also very nice people who were literally able to hold a conversation with me as I was being put on an IV and sedated. I live pretty far away and this was all my insurance would cover as I had already moved from Long Island but it was probably the easiest time I've ever had in a medical setting. Dr. Montazem has god status as an oral surgeon. I on the other hand suck as a patient. He is thorough, and caring. His staff are very nice. The office is clean. The TV in the waiting room needs something, I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe a big red brick, or even a fall from a 35 story building. Other than that, I'd highly recommend him if you need a tooth or two ripped out of your face, he's your man. Would recommend 100%. read more

He explained everything, along with his staff, to both my daughter and us. Two of her wisdom teeth were severely impacted and they weren't sure if they would be able to extract them. With his expertise he was able to do so. Thank you Dr. Montazem. My daughter followed their advice for care afterwards and has healed very nicely. Definitely recommend. Dr. Montazem gives me emotionally detached dad vibes: he probably cares about you, but is unlikely to express it. He doesn't have a bedside manner that's catered to anxious folks, but he's probably just being himself. I was told he's "definitely not a hand holder, but a good surgeon". That being said, I'm a researcher and looked deeply into his reviews and qualifications. Some people hated their experience with him, some said it was wonderful. After my consult, I panicked and worried if my extraction was going to be a s**t show. He was very in and out during all of my visits. He did answer my questions, but seemed not to have patience for many. The same goes with his front desk staff. I actually forgot to ask some things at my follow up because it went by so fast. His assistant seemed to balance that all out, though. The surgery: I was very, very anxious and was indecisive about how many teeth to remove. He was adamant about not telling me what to do, which I respect. He told me I could take out as little or as many teeth as I want and he can't guarantee whether I'll have problems or not with the remaining ones. I decided to take all four wisdom teeth out. His very nice assistant got informed consent and assured me that it would be over before I knew it. It was. He told me exactly what he was doing before I did it. I only knew of what drugs they could've used because of my consult, but he told me when they were applying the nasal mask. The assistant told me she was putting leads and a pulse ox on me, comforting me throughout. He told me when he was inserting the IV, and that was it. I vaguely recall waking up, but was unsure if that was in my own head or not. Every body is different. I just remember joking about the IV fluid burning and then waking up crying...because, drugs. They packed my mouth again and walked me out and I was taken good care of from then on out. I received a second set of aftercare instructions and they called me on the next business day. They sent painkillers and antibiotics (I didn't take, but you should. don't be a d**k like me) to my pharmacy. I was happy to have everything on hand. I removed the gauze and took narcotics with a blood, saliva and yogurt bolus, about an hour and a half later. I rested and iced my face. I didn't have any bruising or major pain after that. I didn't feel too great (dizziness, throbbing) on day 3 or 4, but I was working, eating Ecuadorian food (sausage rice, fried eggs, peanut sauce) and probably doing too much. My dissolvable stitches came out on day 4 or 5. Anyway, my healing story doesn't matter much because everyone's teeth are different and their needs are different. Keep your mouth clean and don't smoke or ruin your surgical sites and you'll probably be fine. Overall, I felt well taken fare of and think Dr. Montazem is a very good surgeon. I left with little (physical) trauma, have been healing well and haven't had an infection. I didn't feel anything. I don't even know what happened. I didn't want to know what was going on on his end anyway (I've seen the process on YouTube, but still), that's for him and his assistant to know. The whole process took 45 mins, I was told. Do not listen to past reviews. Dr. Montazem is friendly and efficient. Truly a professional. I for one have never had good luck with doctors. He did so well I barely had any pain at all after removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth. He had me laughing in the chair all the way till I was put under and woke up feeling a huge relief. If you need your wisdom teeth removed this is the place! And he is the guy to do it. Recommending to all my friends and family in the future. read more

BE AWARE!!! He's a crook! Dr. Alex was trying to charge me over $890- to extract my tooth when I chose to get a second opinion and the oral surgeon said I only have to pay a $40- copay for the procedure!!!!! HE definitely DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS PATIENTS the way a doctor should. HE IS OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY!!! My visit was on 9/27/22. He didn't say hi to me or introduce himself since I took a picture of my x-ray, instead he went on a rant on how he hates when people do that and he would give me a picture of my x-ray and never did!! He said he was going to Have a prescription for antibiotics called in for me because my gum is inflamed since I need to have one of my molars removed since it cracked in half and broke off and he never called into my pharmacy. And to top it off he was only looking at the x-ray, he was so busy boasting about doing this for "over 30 years" that he almost didn't look inside my mouth to even see my tooth!!!! And his exact words were "oh I almost forgot let me look inside your mouth and see what's going on"! Seriously... What doctor or dentist or oral surgeon will forget to even look at the issue. Not getting my work done by him! Today (9/29/22) I called the office to see about the prescription and the secretary stated it was called in and was going to call the pharmacy to confirm. Then she called me back to say since I posted my review the doctor won't be calling it in... WHAT IS THE TRUTH? Was it called in or not. What a joke. So unprofessional. My son needed his wisdom teeth extracted and with his insurance I made an appointment with North Shore Oral Surgery. We went for the consult and they are practicing COVID safety measures and were very informative about the procedure and what would be done. My son went for his appointment and had a wonderful experience with the dentist and his staff. We went for a follow up and again still following safety measures and even called after my son had his surgery go check on him. If you're thinking about using them read this! For one it deserves no star! Here's the problem with this place. It takes over a month to get an appointment but I was desperate and took it. They wanted a ton of money to knock me out so I made an appointment and checked to see why with regular dentist to see if I truly need it because I'm not made of money. I have chronic Lyme disease and chrones and pay a ton for treatment so close to a $1000 to be knocked out was unnecessary and my regular dentist told me they were scamming me because I didn't need to be knocked out because my teeth were lifted out of my jaw so I thanked him and called them to notify them I would just get the sweet air if anything. When the receptionist answered she acted annoyed that I no longer wanted to be knocked out and stated she would give my appointment to someone who actually wanted to be knocked out and even tried to pressure me into being knocked out and then started to give me an attitude. she said she would approach the doctor to see if he'll decide to see me anyway but he most likely won't. There was a lot of back and forth with them until she had finally called me back and coincidentally left me a voicemail stating that the doctor is actually going away Wednesday so they have to schedule me a few months away. Long story short, I called my insurance company, explained the story and they took them off of their recommendation list and told me to report them to the better business with the voicemail. I used to work in doctors offices and it disgusts me that places like this are allowed to stay in business. The least I can to is try to help someone else from being scammed. Think twice! I went as an emergency my molar was cracked and pain was so bad, i see Dr. hes trying to talk me out of pulling it i said no pull it so i waited for them to call it into my insurance they put paper work in wrong so i am calling insurance and them to help me due to pain was so bad well 5 days later i call insurance finally get approved call office 3 times no one calls me back so they don't care how much pain i am in so i had to go to the emergency, so don't go they are heartless and don't care about there Paiten's. This review is long overdue. My daughter Bailey's wisdom teeth were severely impacted. She came in from school and was seen the very same day. Dr Montazem was already booked the following day, plus there was an impending snowstorm. However, knowing the pain Bailey was in, he had me bring her in an hour before they opened, to ensure the surgery would occur. It ended up snowing much earlier and much more than expected. Dr. Montezam and his team were great. Tiffany at the front desk was very kind and helpful any time I called or actually came in for my visits. I was visibly nervous on the day of the surgery but everyone made me feel so comfortable. Gina, one of the dental hygienists, was talking to me before Dr. Montezam came in to do my wisdom teeth extraction. The surgery was quick and I was home before I knew it. The pain afterwards was pretty significant, but I was able to manage it with ibuprofen. It's been two weeks since my surgery and I'm healing great. Everyone was properly wearing their PPE and you can tell they took the pandemic seriously, which made me feel very comfortable. Overall wonderful experience. From the staff to the surgery, I have nothing but great things to say. read more
