No awkward small talk; just pure Tahoe vibes with a side of "don't worry, we haven't lost anyone... yet." The real hilarity kicked in when my daughter and her buddy got strapped in and launched like human kites. Up they went, screaming with delight (or terror? Hard to tell from below), while us boat-bound folks enjoyed the splashy ride, waving like idiots and yelling encouragement that probably sounded like "Don't drop the kids!" Great group of guys! It was easy no pressure booking and everything went as planned. We met about 30 minutes before the booking to fill out waivers and get life vests. Once the trip started we hopped on a dinghy with the other two groups and headed out to the boat. They were thorough and professional with instructions while keeping a very chill mood. All the groups were first timers and they had everyone loose and ready to go. Couldn't have asked for more! Oh yeah, I recommend the photo package. Crooks. I paid through a Groupon to these guys and got a receipt that I was only to pay the photo fee. When we arrived to the beach the morning of to go, we paid for the photo fee and the whole cost of the expedition. The guy on the beach told us we would be "credited" the amount after and that it was just a hold on the card. Surprise! We then had both charges (and a tip to the crew) on the credit card. When we tried emailing to get corrected we got no response. When we tried to reach out over the phone and via text we also got ghosted. I guess $200 is worth more to than their reputation. I have all the receipts of these guys' shitty business practices Wish I could give negative five stars for putting such a sour taste in my mouth for such terrible customer service and basically being a scam. read more

Bummer, ride was super short and not the 8-10 minutes we were sold. We recorded our ride and it was barely 6 minutes. I specifically asked how long the ride would be for this exact reason. I was shocked when a little over 5 minutes in we started coming back down already. $285 for the 3 of us for such a short ride was not worth it. I read other reviews that the rides were much much longer than 10 minutes and we barely got 1/2 that. The crew was nice enough and everything else was good but when people are paying hundreds of dollars for something you would think you would make sure you give them at least the minimum ride time. I'm a single Mom and that was a huge expense for me, bummer to not get the full time we paid for. read more

We visited North lake tahoe back in August for my birthday and wanted to do something not strenuous since we were tired from paddle boarding and hiking the day before. Parasailing fits the bill since all you have to do is sit and take in the views. The booking was a little tricky since their website was down but we were able to book over the phone. On the day of the parasail, they called us just before we were about to leave the hotel to notify us the sailing has been cancelled due to high winds and rescheduled us for the following day. The following day, we checked in at the front desk and they took us to a boat with 3 other parasailers. The boat ride to our sailing spot was just as relaxing as the parasail itself. Once you're up in the air, you can see all of lake tahoe and take in the views. They have you up 800 ft in the air for about 15-20 mins and then reel you back in so other parasailers can go up. I would highly recommend North shore parasail to anyone visiting North lake Tahoe. read more

I am really curious why i don't see any reviews for 2023 on this company (they must be hidden or deleted). I do not recommend booking with this company regardless of the money you save. If you do it's a gamble if you'll actually get to parasail. Here's what my experience was..I found this company on Groupon for a very very good deal (I was too excited to see the red flags that when usually if something is a great deal on Groupon something is off with that company). I called the company and they said they would price match Groupon. Here's where I started getting leery. The guy on the phone was very very condescending, rude and trying to get me to hurry off the phone instead of answering my questions, saying all of my answers will be on the confirmation email. When he asks if we've even gone parasailing before, I replied yes and told him the company. This guy started bragging about how they trained that company. So, I went ahead and booked and he hung up saying I'll get my email. No email after almost 30 minutes. I call back to the same guy, and he says it takes about 10 minutes, but I tell him it's been about 30 minutes. Then he says it'll take a few business days because I booked on a Saturday and that he cannot see any bookings on the computer because it's not a business day..??!! Ok. I end up researching this company (which I should have before booking) and I start seeing a lot of Google reviews that this place cancels bookings quite a bit. I realize it's better to go with a more reputable and reliable company even though I have to pay a little bit more. I call to cancel the booking about 2 hours after I placed it. The guy who answered (a different guy this time) says he can see my booking on his system (what?!) and he will go ahead and cancel it. He said it will take a week to see confirmation of my cancelation by email. Low and behold, my confirmation of my booking shows up in my email, but not the cancelation. I decide to wait almost two weeks for that cancelation email, nothing. I call back to confirm my cancelation - supposedly same guy (I'm starting to think they're all the same people) condescending, telling me that he sees my booking and he'll cancel it immediately. I said I canceled it almost 2 weeks ago. He didn't even acknowledge that, he just said he'll go ahead and cancel it! I hang up, I get both a text and email confirmation of my cancelation. I went ahead and booked with a different place (North Tahoe Watersports. Lady on the phone was extremely patient answering all my questions). Day of the booking on the way to Tahoe I get a TEXT FROM North Shore Parasail being closed all day due to mechanical difficulties. I am SO GLAD I decided to switch companies! We had a wonderful time parasailing with North Tahoe Watersports. Trust your gut and book with whoever you want. My instinct paid off, even though we paid a little extra we had peace of mind. I took my boyfriend parasailing last week for his birthday and we had a blast! We could not have picked a better day and the view from 800ft was gorgeous! Captain Dave and Brandon were fun, friendly helpful and made sure we had a great time. Even the boat ride when you're not up in the air is great because they had awesome music and the lake is awesome. Just a couple notes: I was in a hurry and didn't get a chance to stop and potty but eventhough we were on the beach, Dave made sure to give me the key and directions to the staff facilities before boarding. We wore sneakers which was dumb (wear flips flops or sandals) and its not scary at all, we felt super safe like we were floating, but securely. Lastly, I was really surprised that no one besides us tipped because the staff was so good, so if you go, remember to tip! read more

Our captain provided witty wise cracks from the moment we reached the boat. We really enjoyed the parasailing portion. The flight was super smooth and relaxing, the seat can be a little tight. My only regret is not doing this sooner and with more of our family filling the boat. The group can size can be large so don't plan on flying for more than 10 minutes. This company cancelled our reservation the day prior due to boat engine issues. We extended our vacation another day to accommodate and rescheduled. When we arrived, we had no trouble with parking, but they were running about an hour behind so we had to wait a while. They made everyone walk in thigh deep water onto a raft which took us to the boat. This was annoying since several people in the group were wearing long pants and the water was extremely cold. Everyone on our boat had purchased the photo package which was $40, however it was apparent that they were trying to make up for time by speeding through pictures. My two sons and I were the last small group to go up and only had 13 pictures taken of us while the other groups each had between 50 and 65 pictures taken of them. I emailed the company about it and received no response, which just added to the insult. I will never parasail with this company again. I enjoyed parasailing with the South Lake Tahoe company much more, where you get onto the boat from the dock, and they even provide a GoPro camera you can take up with you tied onto your wrist. I will give North Shore Parasail two stars because at least we didn't die. There's room for improvement! read more

We had such an amazing experience here. The workers are all so professionals and even though most of them are young they are all nice. I know it can be boring to be doing the same thing all day long but they still make everyone experience worth while! They should really update on getting themselves a nice big booth and a bigger sign but other than that it wasn't too hard to find. They were pretty much all the way at the end of the kings beach. Don't forget to bring cash to tip your friendly the boat driver and and the other staff on the boat. They do such an amazing job and we were literally in awe when they shot up the parachute and close it down. Note: if you come with a big group. Just have them take picture of you instead of purchasing the photo package. The pictures weren't really nice nor professional. The worker just shot a bunch of pictures on a camera.
