That was fine except once the remote was downloaded there was a PIN set preventing us from actually using the Roku TV. The master bedroom was extremely hot and no matter what we did the air wouldn't not flow into it. The room stayed muggy as if the door to the balcony was open, which it was not. Getting back on from the balcony was almost impossible because the sliding doors do not have any kind of handle on the outside. The locks for the sliding doors also would not work, preventing us from locking the doors. This poses a hazard since we have a child with special needs that doesn't understand danger. Everything was keyed and the locks would stick making it difficult to access the building, especially with my small child in tow. For $4k I will not stay here again.

My daughter and her family came for a couple of days and they had plenty of room as well. There are three bedrooms. The master is ocean front with a balcony. I kept standing out there to soak in the waves. It was lovely!! The other two rooms are ocean view, also with balconies. We swam in the heated indoor pool, we watched dolphins go by each evening, and we enjoyed a smoke-free environment. There are so many conveniences-washer/dryer, kitchen, three bathrooms and showers. There is one shower that is just a shower, but the other two have tubs, one being a jacuzzi! TVs in each room, board games, cards, books, puzzles-all sorts of things to keep you occupied in the room. Outside of the room-it is located just a few blocks from the main highway that is loaded with eateries, things to do, shopping, and on and on!! Since it is the off-season, there is some road maintenance happening, and they were dredging offshore where we could seethe boats and equipment. However, none of this bothered us!! Even if you wanted to swim, it was out far enough it would not affect your water play. We had an amazing time!! The only things we were asked to do before leaving were strip the sheets off the beds, turn on the dishwasher if we had dishes, and take the trash out. It was so easy and relaxed!!! If we had any questions, we were able to quickly co tact and hear a response from the owner, and we were on our way! Parking was a breeze, having a large deck. The elevators were always ready for us, and there is a trash chute just down the breezeway from our door. Thank you Bahama Sands for a fantastic time!! We will be back!!!

This is a two-fold review. First, the owner of the unit we are staying in is phenomenal! The unit…read moreis wonderful and meets our family's needs. The unit, and it's owner, get ten stars. Second, and most importantly, we had an issue with neighbors being loud and we had three small children attempting to sleep, so the number designated as "Mar Vista Grande" was called. We were met with a woman who treated us as second class citizen because we rented through a different rental property. After being told that they would not help us several times, my sister, ended the conversation abruptly out of fatigue and frustration. The following morning at approx. 8 am there was hard banging on the door. Upon answering, we were verbally accosted by a woman named Cynthia Niner and and tall older gentlemen who did not identify himself. They barked at my sister and reiterated again that they would not help us but that we should thank them for coming to address us this morning. She indicated that she also would not tell us where to take trash because of a so-called "liability." What Ms. Niner never clarified, which was later clarified by the owner of the unit we are renting, is that the HOA here allows for owners to rent through whomever they want. According to the owner of the unit we are renting, Ms. Niner has either bought or leased the ability to use the name "Mar Vista Grande." She did not at any time properly represent her situation, she kept saying that had we have rented through Mar Vista Grande that we would be helped, but at no time did she say that Mar Vista Grande was not the building proper but just the units that she manages. In fact, it appeared to be a bullying tactic to treat people renting through other rental organizations poorly and thereby force them to rent through Ms. Niner's organization in the future in order to be treated in a humane and respectful way. As an aside, she also attributed her poor demeanor to being from Michigan while she and her henchman verbally assaulted my sister early this morning. My recommendation would be to use any other rental company to stay here. The location proper gets five stars. The property is beautiful and the staff is kind. We used Thomas Beach Vacations and that experience was great. This outfit, Mar Vista Grande, championed by Cynthia Niner, receives zero stars if it were a possibility. People, such as Ms. Niner, who use underhanded tactics and misrepresent who they are and what they do to bully people who pay good money to stay here should not be tolerated. I will be filing a consumer complaint against this outfit before we leave as well.

I booked this through Airbnb and Thomas Beach Rentals was the one I went through to rent the house. Our vacation was scheduled for July 11, 2026 - July 18, 2026. After driving over 12 hours with an 8 month old, we arrived at the beach house on July 11, 2026 about 3:00 pm. I went to Thomas Beach Rentals after getting a text that the house was ready. I checked in and went back to the house. This is when we discovered the house was TOTALLY misrepresented from the pictures online. The pictures online made it look immaculate and brand new. We first walked out to the pool. Half the tiles on the pool wall were missing. They were laying on the picnic table which was aluminum and rusted all over. You couldn't even sit on it. The pool water was VERY cloudy and there was sand all over the inside. There were numerous adirondack chairs sitting around the pool. They were all broken (cracked down the middle) and you couldn't sit in them. It was not a clean area at all. Then we went inside where we found it to be DISGUSTING! When we walked in the front door,there was the living room furniture sitting on an area rug. The rug was black because it was so dirty. The hard floors were not clean and were disgusting. Then we walked into the bedrooms. The one bedroom had mold in the bathroom. Each bedroom, where the carpet met the trim at the bottom of the wall was black. All the bathrooms were disgusting and not clean. Every door in the house was filthy with hand marks and dirt on both sides. It didn't smell clean at all. There was also a broken window (cracked through the entire top part of the window) with some kind of tape covering it. The door to the cabinet under the sink was falling off because it was missing a hinge. Most of the woodwork was torn up all through the house. We had an 8 month old child who crawls everywhere and we would not even consider letting her on that floor ANYWHERE inside the house. At that moment, we called Thomas Beach Rentals and told them what we found and we CANNOT stay there. I spoke to Ken (I think that was his name) and told him the situation and his response was "I'm not sure what I can do for you at this point." I pretty much told him that he needs to find us something else. By this time it was 4:00 pm. He said he had a condo but I said I wanted to look at it first. It was 3.5 miles north of where we wanted to stay. We drove there and parking was under the condo highrise and when we pulled in there were no spots. We could see the pool area and it was disgusting so we were not even going to get out to look at the condo. We drove back to the beach house and called him back. His response was he didn't have anything and we needed to work with Airbnb. At this point I was pretty much having an anxiety attack because we have an 8 month old with us and we just drove over 12 hours and have nowhere to stay. We then contacted Airbnb. They were fantastic and asked us to send them pictures. We did and within 10 minutes they refunded my money. They started sending us listings to look at BUT with it being last minute needing something that day for a week, nothing they sent worked. It was either out of our price range or too small for 2 families. In the meantime as we scrambled to find something on our own, someone from Thomas Beach Rentals showed up to take pictures. We showed him everything as he took pictures and he was beside himself that Thomas Beach Rentals would rent this house out in this condition. He said he was going to go back to the office and relay everything. After he left, 2 women showed up. They said Thomas Beach Rental called them. They got out of their car with a blower and went back by the pool. They picked up all the tile that was laying on the picnic table and blew all the dirt off the patio. They then proceeded to blow the driveway and also took all the chairs out to the street for the trash. The one lady then came up to me and said she had to drive 30 minutes for the beer cans they had to pick up. My response was "I know nothing about beer cans. We are upset about the cleanliness of the entire house." These 2 ladies didn't even go inside and then left. In the meantime, we found a condo about 2 miles further away from the beach. It was available so we booked it but had to wait for the owner to respond which said she usually responds within 2 hours. At this point we were all exhausted, not even knowing if we would get this condo. We decided to go to the store and get some food. When we were done, we went to the condo complex and just sat in our cars waiting. While we were waiting, Airbnb contacted me and asked if we found something. I told them the situation and they said "Let us call her." She called me within 5 minutes.

The check in process was so easy. We didn't have to find an office to get check in instructions. The instructions were mailed to us in advance with our parking pass. They use automated locks, so there was no key to keep up with. The best part was the lock code was the last four digits of our phone number, so it was easy to remember. We visit Myrtle Beach every year. We will definitely be using Southern Hideaways again.
