Then why sell them to me. Two of the pairs are for distance and bifocals. The bifocals are fine but the distance vision is blurry unless I tilt them. The female assistant was so rude the last time I was there I am hesitant in going back. I am not sure if the staff is commissioned based on but the female staffer made it very clear that there are no refunds. Think carefully before you purchase here

The staff was very friendly and patient with me AND with my two year old running around in their play area! Even though the store was busy at the time, they went out of their way to show me and give me their opinion on a wide selection of frames, without making me feel rushed. I was paired with a staff member with a similar prescription (the store manager, Odessa) which turned out to be very helpful in selecting frames as well as lens options that best suited that prescription. We had narrowed it down to two frames, and when I couldn't decide between them, she offered to take pictures of me with both so that I could see them from different angles. A small thing, but another example of their attentiveness and above-and-beyond service. My glasses arrived very quickly and exactly as expected, and I received the same great service when I picked them up and had them fitted. I would definitely go back!

They also recommend that you get the drops to reverse the dilation, but that is also an additional fee. If you are new to wearing contact lenses, you must take a $129 "class", to learn how to put them on and take them out, typically included elsewhere with exam and purchase of contacts. Mind you, you still need to pay for the actual contacts. To avoid that fee, I asked for her prescription to take elsewhere, and they wouldn't do it. I recommend when booking your appointment to ask about extra charges associated with your appointment.

They made it clear what to expect and gave me the proper droplets and post treatment LASIK instructions clearly. I feel like the people who left negative reviews really just don't read or don't follow instructions. Recovery took me 1 long sleep (11 hours), they do LASIK as late as 6pm appointments (I waited and got mine around 6:30pm). Overall, it was a painless and enjoyable experience and they do a rigorous prescreening process if you're eligible. I've had terrible vision since childhood (-0.5 on both sides), and saved up some HSA funds for the procedure. I'd seen countless LASIK ads and deals ($1000 off, etc.) over the years, so sought out a local spot - there are several to choose from in the Twin Cities area. The process went super fast! First, I signed up for an online call to confirm details about my eyes, then the following week I had an in-person consultation. Here's a look at how the process went: CONSULTATION: About an hour and a half long - super detailed, basically a thorough eye exam plus discussion and videos on the LASIK process and a breakdown of cost. At the end, they scheduled me for the following week (!!) for surgery. SURGERY DAY: I had my partner drive me to my appointment, and was in and out in under a half hour. I got my bag of post-op eye drops and pills and info packet, watched a video on aftercare, and waited my turn for the surgery room. SURGERY: I was in and out of the surgery room in under 5 minutes! They numb your eyes, use one machine to make the laser incision, and then walk you to the second machine to make the adjustments to your eye and secure the incision back up. POST-OP: My eyes were numb for the 15 minutes after, so I was feeling great! I walked out with their assistance to my partner's car and he drove me home. When the numbing drops wore off I was pretty uncomfortable for 30 mins, but went home and took tylenol/benadryl and took the mandatory 4-hour nap. When I woke up, the uncomfiness was gone and I could see clearly! I wore sunglasses and took it easy that day, but was so excited how easy it was. RECOVERY: Over the next week, I used the prescribed eye drops and generic eye drops, plus eye lubricant pills. I continued the eye drops and pills for the next few months (still now). My vision got better and better over the few days after my surgery, and I see perfectly. 4 STARS: I had a bit of a strange experience with scheduling, which is why this wasn't a full 5-star experience for me: The surgeon is from Idaho and wanted to take an earlier flight on the day of my scheduled surgery, and he texted me a few nights before my surgery to ask me to reschedule. I had already made work arrangements so it was a challenge to reschedule, and it felt a bit weird to be getting texts directly from the doctor. He also made some female-related comments during the short surgery that came off a bit strange. However, all of the rest of the staff was incredible!

Less than a year later, I'm having to replace them again. Driving is what brought me in to the optometrist. I was beginning to have trouble with focus at dusk and at night when reading street signs and dealing with headlights, traffic lights, etc. I'm also a grad student, so I read a lot - A LOT - but not on screens. This was my first pair of wear-all-the-time eyeglasses, so I decided to try progressives. When I went to the optician side, someone should have asked me all of that right off the bat: how/when are you going to use these glasses? What brought you in for your exam? Is there a specific issue that you're dealing with? What kind of insurance coverage do you have? None of these questions were asked. Information that wasn't made clear up front: the actual cost of neurolenses (which I do recommend - if you have money). The cost of the frames that were chosen was also not made clear up front. Options like transitions, blue light blockers, oil resistant coating, etc. No mention until much, much later. No mention was made that I could restyle if I didn't like the frames, either. No mention was made that they could be adjusted for fit, until much later, either. The first frames that were chosen were highly recommended by an optometrist there. I was uncomfortable with their size, but open-minded and willing to give it a try. After all, they *were* my first pair of eyeglasses. They go on your face. I knew I would have to get used to them. I asked if they were too big, and was told they were perfect. I ordered them. I thought I'd be looking at about $400-$500. Two weeks later, I pick them up and am told upwards of $1500! I should have walked out but I was shocked, and also needed them. So, I paid for them, tried them on, and was instantly aware that I wouldn't be able to read in them. I said as much to the optician, who made no adjustments, said she'd call me in two weeks to see how it was going, and that was that. Again, these were my first pair, and I knew I would have to try them for a few weeks to give my eyes a chance to adjust, so I went along with it. Two weeks later, the optometrist did call, and I asked about clip-on sunshades because I was experiencing headaches from the brightness of the sun when driving. There were none available, but she could add Transitions lenses for $138. Two weeks later, I go to pick up the new glasses. As I'm leaving, I mention that I'm still getting used to the frames, but looking forward to using the Transitions for driving. She got a strange look on her face, but didn't say anything. The Transitions lenses were so weak, I ended up buying clip-ons from Walgreens and cutting them to fit. I looked like an idiot. On top of it, I couldn't read in these glasses unless I physically held the frames higher up on my face with one hand. The other option was looking so far down on the lenses that people would ask me if I was asleep while reading. My neck was a mess. I also felt like a clown in the frames. I finally sent an email asking if all of this was normal. A different optician invited me in to restyle. What?! You can do that? No one told me that. I made the 40 min drive out - an hour and 40 back each time, btw, because of the freeway situation - and we went through about 10 different frames, none of which were great, but at least they weren't clown glasses. He also told me that there are different types of Transitions, and the wrong type had been ordered. He also adjusted the reader Rx and ordered a different pair. Two weeks later, he's adjusting the 2nd pair so I can really read in them - not just check a text or read a pay terminal for 12 seconds - but there was a moment when he suggested I get computer distance glasses instead. Why would I want that? I have three perfectly good pairs at home: one was fully covered by insurance, one was $20 from Walmart, and one was about $150 from Zenni Optical. I don't get it. The new Transitions worked well, but when I got home, I noticed that these frames weren't the ones I'd ordered - and were equally disturbing. Now I looked like my mother - which is not ok. Again, I tried to get used to them, but was so embarrassed in them that I actually blew off a friend's birthday party at one point. The optician told me we could do one more restyle. They were decent. However, I can't read in these either for any length of time, and have utterly given up. I don't think it's even been 6 months since the final pair came in, and I need a new Rx. They were pleasant, Dr. Wesley was very good. But too much time, gas, way too much money, limited selection of men's frames, not enough information shared, and they should've asked a lot more questions. Mediocre end result. A real miss.

MN FRAUD! MN FRAUD! - Routine vs Medical coding--read this carefully and thoroughly about their…read morebilling and coding practice. I scheduled my annual routine eye check-up with a $10.00 co-pay. Note: I'm not having any issues but scheduled my annual & routine eye check up. At the appointment they start by doing some standard tests and then the DR does their normal and routine tests. If they don't find any eye issues, I only pay the $10.00 co-pay. However, (little did I know) if they find an eye condition they automatically change this to a medical appointment which now costs $65.23. Here is my complaint. The only thing different is them telling me about the condition of my eyes. So instead of saying your eyes are perfect and come back in a year they tell you about an eye condition, they'll keep an eye on it and come back in a year. Is this not the purpose of a check up is to find out the condition of your eyes. Let me repeat: Nothing (no tests, eye checks) was done different from it being a $10.00 visit to a $65.23 visit except they TOLD me about a situation with my eye. There was absolutely no additional work done during that appointment. When I have my dental check-ups they tell me the condition of my teeth. If they find work that needs to be done they don't go back and charge me for the check up. We move forward with my treatment plan. United Health Care said they pay according to the code the doctor's use. The Eye Care Clinic changing this to medical billing generates more money for them and more out of pocket for the customer.
