Main West Post Acute Care - What ever is at the top it was ice cold and watery. The cinnamon roll says it all. That was old when it was fresh.

I appreciated the CNA's and nurses coming in to check on me constantly. I was able to get door dash when the food wasn't edible and the visiting hours were great. Pro's: Definitely the nurses. I had extremely sensitive issues and they did a wonderful job taking care of them. The place was constantly being cleaned and the cleaning staff was also nice and thoughtful. Con's: The biggest issue I ran into the 3 weeks I was there was a lack of English speaking and understanding by the CNA's. There were times I had to point to things or just give up and say no because they couldn't comprehend basic English. I even asked them to get another person to help me a few times. The next con has to be the food. At times it wasn't edible no matter how hungry I was. With antibiotics wrecking my stomach as it was and there being a gap of 14 hours between dinner and breakfast the next morning I had to get a Walmart order of snacks and drinks to make up for the terrible meals. Sometimes the food was descent but the portion wasn't enough for a 10 year old. Other times the combinations made no sense, I brought receipts (see the pictures). Yes I went hard on the food with the hope that they will do something about it for future clients. I showed one of those pictures to my case worker and I asked her to just try the food for herself and she would know my pain :) All that being said I am now home and on my way to a full healthy recovery and much of that is thanks to Main West. This place was relatively close to home, easily accessible for my family and friends to visit and they have helped give me my life back. Aside from the communication issues and food I would recommend this place to anyone in need of great caring nurses and overall attentive staff. Thank you to everyone at West Main. I'm home writing Yelp reviews and not in pain or stuck in bed thanks to you. I will never forget what you did for me. Sincerely, Mr. Michael

My interactions with the staff were productive and pleasant as they were helpful when answering questions. While there, my grandmother felt well taken care of by her nurse staff. They even cheered her up when she was home sick, which means a lot to her family. Upon her discharge, her social worker was really helpful in providing resources and contact information. Thank you MWPA!

Everything was good with registration, got triage immediately and called in the a room right off the lobby to speak with a doctor. The problem I have is with the ER doctor who was discrimating against my mother because if her age and had the audacity to ask if she was born in the United States as he had tried speaking Spanish and English to her but she didn't respond. I told him my mother was more of an American Citizen than anyone in this hospital as she if Native American, born in Minnesota. On top of his racism he had the nerve to pressure me into making a life choice for my mother or he was not going to put in the order for a CT Scan with contrast to see if her arteries were clogged. I told him I did not have to make that decision before having her tests done. He needed to do all the testing required and have the house doctor and Neurologist speak with me first before I can make a decision on any surgery. This is not a good hospital and I will be filing complaints with the proper authorities! My mother has been admitted per the Neurologist and waiting on a MRI w/contrast of her brain, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2025. She has been without any nutrients or hydration for over 24 Hrs, no IV bag for hydration. Will update!

I finally gave up in 2009 and had a S1-L5 laminectomy, which failed horribly. I have been on high dosages of opiates for over ten years. I finally today had a physical therapist who took the time to listen and then after reviewing my films before the appointment and then again with me, explained exactly what was going on with my spine and what my options are going forward. I now understand what my options are and can make INFORMED decisions for my best result!! The gentleman's name is Adam and I would more than highly recommend him to anyone needing help with an injury, whether recent or like me, 30 pain-filled years later. A medical provider who truly cares, invests his time for your benefit, and doesn't rush thru your appointment with his head stuck inside a computer keyboard! I finally have hope and cannot express my thankfulness enough.

From the multiple dead cockroaches and filthy chairs I had to leave, I received a call from a rude therapist and I explained thoroughly about my visit and that I should've known NOT to go to anything that's affiliated with Emanuel Medical center. Hearing them treat elderly people like they did and telling them lies about their appointments not being at the times they thought, I over heard them saying that they don't know the difference and they're old and in nursing homes so they have nothing else to do as if they're not important. Shame on Emanuel

The table near the front door was stacked with wrapping paper, boxes, Christmas cards, and all other sorts of Christmas paraphernalia. As I hung a right to go around the store counterclockwise, I saw more Christmas items for sale. Christmas trees, ornaments, lights, ornament hangers were all against the wall. Against the right wall are several bookcases filled with used books. Perusing the titles, I saw a lot of self-help and religious books. They also sell CDs here. But unlike the other thrift stores in town, the selection was almost exclusively classical music. CDs are $1 each. Further towards the back right corner of the store were bookshelves full of movies. They stock both VHS tapes and DVDs. I seem to recall DVDs were $2 unless priced otherwise. I saw some loose discs in the pile, and wondered if any of the multi-disc collections were missing a disc or two. When I got to the back wall, I saw a pile of board games. Again, I could not tell if the games were complete or if any pieces were missing. In the center of the store are racks and racks of clothes. I didn't look very carefully at that display. I went on to the housewares section, towards the front, on the left side. I saw a few things here and there I was tempted to buy, but took a pass. Eventually I left with an eyeglass case ($1), and a Pelican case I intended to use to store my car GPS ($2). The staff I met were friendly.
