First time at this escape room and we did 2 of the rooms....Penthouse and Dragon's Curse. The atmosphere was great and the staff was very nice, friendly and knowledgeable of the diffrent rooms. The hints were given as needed or asked for. The rooms were very intricate and detailed as well as very clean. What a fun experience for our WHOLE FAMILY! We surprised the kids with a fun and not too difficult Escape Room - Summer Camp. Five in our family and we did the 45min version, which was just right for us. Our kiddos were 10yrs, 8yrs & 4yrs and each of them could help out and figure out some clues on their own. There were still clues they needed help with, but overall they were very involved. Each of the three rooms we accessed was lively, well planned out, and full of fun clues. The staff greeted us warmly and explained everything to the kids in a very understandable way and were very generous with the clues. We all had a wonderful time and would absolutely do another escape room here with the family. read more

Honestly don't know how this place has this many great reviews. We went with a group of 6 people last year to do Summer Camp and there were so many mistakes, missing pieces, things out of order. When we finished the last puzzle, we didn't even know we finished, (no sound, no door opening, no nothing), and was puzzled when the game masters came into the room (after a long delay no less). The game masters tried to play it off like "oh at least you got the puzzle right, that's why I gave you the answers over the intercom/screen", as if that wasn't insanely immersion-breaking at all, and defeats the whole purpose of an escape room to begin with. All of my friends were SO disappointed, and we tried to ask for a partial refund and were refused. This felt like an amateur experience, and to have paid over $200+ for an experience this bad was, to be quite honest, we felt cheated. We ended up emailing them afterwards and got no reply. Awful service. We've been to lots of other ones, and some are better than others, but they've never been this bad. read more

First experience at an escape room. We picked jailhouse and there were only two us. We did the 45 min game. They had videos for us to watch before we started. I thought that was helpful. Be warned if only two, they split us up into different cells. That was unexpected so it kinda through me for a loop. The room was cool. Had the old time jail vibe. Sadly, we didn't escape. Lol I like the screen with the time on it. Also with 45 mins you kinda get unlimited clues. We had to get a lot and still didn't escape lol although we came very close. I forgot the young ladies name that was our game host but she was very nice and told us we did god even though I thought we didn't. Lol Communication is the biggest thing though for these so just make sure you go with someone or ppl that will communicate with you!!!! But also have fun and enjoy the game! read more

We did Dragon's Curse for our son's 17th birthday because he likes dragons. This room was just ok. It was fairly easy and only took us 38 minutes with like 2 or 3 hints. The game master told us prior not to pick up the candles but he failed to tell us the candles wouldn't actually go out. We wasted several minutes trying to get the candles to go out. Also, one of the clues either didn't get reset or it opened early. My son used it to open the chest and the game master accused him of forcing the chest open at first, until he realized my son actually had the key. Overall it was a fun experience but it could use some improvements. read more

We went to the one in McKinney and it was great. So much fun and our Game master, Peyton, was amazing!

First time doing an escape room, someone else made the arrangements, and all of us had a great time. Our group had 8 people, so it wasn't small, and we did the Summer Camp room. It allowed a full hour, and you get 2 clues plus a 3rd if you check in on social media (done!). We ended up getting pretty stumped at one part, using 1 clue, and then finishing with about 14 minutes to spare. I think with a small group - 2 to 4 - it could have been very very challenging to finish in time - but we had a blast with our group. Super creative and well-thought-out room. It's notable that we had a 10 PM timeslot, so we had dinner and drinks first, and I'm sure having drinks beforehand made it extra fun. =) There were a few folks finishing rooms when we arrived, but I think we were the last ones out. I don't know if that's normal for a Saturday night, but I would assume that 10 PM isn't the most popular timeslot (lol). The intro videos were helpful, especially for newbies like my wife and me. The rest of our group had done at least 1 escape room before, btw. Karina was our game master and she was great - definitely on point, friendly, and professional. I went from not being the least bit interested in escape rooms to very much wanting to do more of them! Super fun with a fun group and pregaming - highly recommended. read more

North Texas Escape Rooms has the best themes and variety of puzzles I've ever encountered! No two rooms feel alike and the puzzles will often include dexterity or physical challenges of some sort which break up the "find the numbers" style ones. Definitely recommend Jailhouse, Penthouse, and Summer Camp! Dragon's Curse and Empire City: Heroes were also fun but I think I enjoy the more relatable rooms. Just be prepared to really think outside of the box! read more

This place was set up really well! I think that they were very well prepared. They had videos to introduce safety for newcomers and to introduce the scenario to each escape room. There was a group of 5 of us and we did the Penthouse escape room. It took us almost the entire hour to get through it. To me it was pretty challenging considering we probably got around 5 clues given to us because we couldn't figure things out. I liked how the tv with the timer on it made it clear how much time we had left, but also that's how they communicated to us the clues. There were also sounds made to warn us of when we had 30 min, 10 min, and 5 minutes left. The room was also clean and looked similar to the given scenario. The workers here were also very kind! We came here for a team building work event. I worked with Katelyn in advance who was very easy to communicate with and get a hold of. The booking process was smooth and easy. Part of the attraction to this place was positive reviews on Google and Yelp, plus they had an escape room large enough to accomodate our group (8 people). Most escape rooms are meant for 4-6 people. When we got there, a friendly woman with pink-ish hair greeted us. We got started right away at our scheduled check in time. Sam, our helper for the day, was super helpful and gave clear instructions. He was attentive throughout and provided clues promptly when requested. He also moonlights as a group photographer :) We greatly appreciated Sam and would be happy to have him again as our game master (or whatever it is called). We did the Dragons Curse room with 4 adults and two kids. Room was very cool looking and everyone had a lot of fun. Needed some help more than a few times, hard to keep four type a adults and two pre teens on the same page. I arranged for my kids birthday party there. The experience of escape room was good. We were given a party room that was arranged before we came, so that was good. But the reason of my 3 star is there is little to none customer service experience. You can't find representatives if you need to ask something. A kid came in later I kept in wandering the alleys with the kid to find one of the staff to help him get in. And then during the party time, there was no one to help give pizza to kids, although I bought the deluxe package with pizza and coke. No one helped us with serving food, drinks or cake. Usually in other places that I have arranged birthday parties they help during the cake and food time. I would rather try other Escape rooms around. This was a blast. We brought three 7 year olds and one 9 year old, even though the recommended age is 10 and up for the kid experience. Our game master was awesome, and given the age of our group, generously gave us unlimited clues. The kids had a great time, and while challenged, were able to solve a lot of problems without too much help. We finished with just a minute to go and all the kids were proud of themselves.
