We had a girls night doing this escape room and had a blast! We had the hardest room and managed to escape! Our host/helper was fabulous in helping us along the way with clues. There were parts where we struggled and figured it out, and some parts where we were utterly lost and our host swooped in to save the day. Towards the end as we ran out of time, but were so close to completing the last clue, he helped point us in the right direction. The part of the last clue required lining up two things to find the hidden message, however, the items were worn and didn't like up properly to he helped move us along. Cool puzzles that make you think outside the box, and it feels like such an accomplishment as you solve them. read more

Me and My SO were first timer to the Escape room. Went along with another couple who have done this in the past. We made a reservation for 7:35pm for Murder Mansion. Got there early (15mins prior to appt) but we were checked in and got started. The person who checked us in explained the process and what we need to complete the escape room. We took the hints from game master but managed to complete the puzzles within the 1hr timeframe. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and happy that we were able to finish a difficult level escape room. read more

Girls Night! This is our fourth Escape Room together, but I've done a handful more with my family and Escapology was really well done. We did the Murder Mansion room and it wasn't until we were done we realized we'd chosen a 10/10 difficulty room. The room was very challenging, but most of the clues actually made sense. Our game master was incredibly helpful and gave us a few extra clues and hints when we were completely stuck. Both our game master and the woman who greeted us checked with us after to see what we thought - excellent service! Both were friendly and appeared to actually like their jobs which helps the customer experience tremendously. We all agreed we'd like to come back and the lovely woman at the front recommended both Narco and Scooby Do as her favorites. read more

Had a lot of fun barely finishing Amnesia in time! The room had some fun unique puzzles and was surprisingly a lot to do for the size. There was one puzzle that had a bit of problems but the game master helped. Friendly staff, moderately clean, and with a record board on the wall it makes for a fun competition! read more

Overall our experience was poor. My husband and I have been to several escape rooms and like to do them for date nights. Today we went to do the Under Pressure Room and our whole experience from start to finish was bad. From a customer service experience. The guy working the counter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Additionally our room was booked for 7:55 but they were not able to get us in until around 8:05, once the game master explained the rules and we watched the videos it was 8:11 when we started the room. The room itself was one of the worst I have seen. A lot of the "clues" required you to guess either where to enter the clue or what the clue was going to be. Escapology's tactic must be to try to throw you off a lot so you don't finish the room, which is not the purpose of escape rooms. Make the puzzles hard- yes! But don't throw a bunch of random red herrings in the room that don't have anything to do with the puzzle or the story line. Additionally our game master(s) did not pay attention. Several times we had the correct answer and either something was not working or we were putting it in the wrong lock (again you have to go around and try a code everywhere because there is no direct correlation to clues and locks like most escape rooms). When we asked for a hint the game master asked a bunch of questions and we kept telling them that we had done that, done that, etc and confirmed our answer was correct. When we told them it wasn't working we got no response until the room door finally opened. (I think they triggered it for us?). Either way we lost about 10 minutes of time plus the 2 minute penalty for the hint that really wasn't needed if it worked properly. The biggest frustration was the amount of guessing- escape rooms should be about solving puzzles not trying your code everywhere to see what works. Overall I don't recommend the rooms, if the others rooms are built like this one it's not a true escape room with puzzles that feed the story and relate to the next steps to solve the goal of the room. Between the poor room and the poor customer service, it just put a damper on our date night. It was not worth the $100 and we will not be returning. read more

What a GREAT experience!!! Fun for the whole family regardless of age! The point is to work together and solve the mystery! We had a 65yr old and a 12yr old in the same escape room... and we escaped at the last second! This place is different than others for sure!!! We did the manor murder mystery- and there were 3 rooms we went through and had to use all our skills to figure it out. Staff was super friendly and very helpful! I would definitely recommend this location over other competitors! I'll be back for sure! read more

Service was terrible, room was not properly work, pieces of the puzzle where not in correct spot, we sat in the room for 10 minutes waiting for instructions. Worker tried to explain to us a clue we had already figured out 2 times and still walked my group through steps we finished, They say show up early there isn't a point we sat there for 45 minutes before they helped us. Would never suggest to anyone ruined are afternoon and $150 in the drain. read more

Came here for 3 escape the rooms. I came with my family for some bonding time for my family which includes the young kids and the adults. They are very professional and explain everything really well. The rooms have some elements which are scary for some kids that are under 6 years old. But then again the rooms aren't made for under a certain age since they charge per person. Remember, Monday's and Thursday's everyone is 50% off. We did three rooms which are titled the antidote room, the murder mansion, and the cuban missile crisis. Before you start they go over safety and rules. Also, a little summary of what all the rooms are about. You can also read and see a video about it on their website. I don't know if they sanitize everything since tons of people touch all the items and every inch and crany of the room. I hope that they do! All in all we may return again. read more

My husband and I came here for Date Night and did the Scooby Doo room with just the 2 of us. We had a great time and enjoyed the puzzles in the room. Shoutout to our game master, Angel, who facilitated our game and checked in with us afterwards to make sure we had. A good experience. My best friend and I did the scooby doo escape room and it was so nostalgic and fun! Really cool clues and escape room tech! We loved it!!

We decided to run up here on a random Tuesday night (just so happens that it was $15 night, even better). The decor is great - couches, tables, and drinks (alcoholic beverages as well). With it being a weeknight it was not busy at all, and, Matt, the young gentleman that was working was an amazing host. We did the antidote room. You start out by watching a quick video on the rules and then a video on the baseline of the story. Then you are off to find clues and try to get your escape out. We did this with our 12 year old daughter and it was definitely a fun night had by all of us. This will make for a great date-night or a family adventure. We will be back and hopefully the Mckinney area will continue to support this business. read more

It was fun and super clever. I came here twice with my family and we tried the intermediate and easy rooms. Both were very fun to complete.

The puzzles at these escape rooms are more challenging than other ones I've done but they were a lot of fun!

I would give 0 stars, unfortunately 1 is the lowest Yelp allows. Staff are incredibly rude. We had 6 people in our party. They have one computer on which to sign waivers. They did not send waivers via email as they claimed. And they claimed to have made a phone call earlier in the day, which they most certainly did not. And to think we paid $230 to be treated like this. Future Customers: If you value your money, please take your business elsewhere where you will be better treated. read more

I love Escape rooms. This is the third one I've done. It is the middle between the two experiences. I went with relatives while vacationing. The room we had was a rather complicated three room puzzle. I think we probably should have gotten an easier one. Overall, we had a great time and would do it again. A few small problems. We figured out the piano clue and played the notes. And played the notes but it didn't work. Rechecked the clue---we were right. Played it again. Didn't work. Finally, called in the front person and we had the clue correct. The door was open but didn't spring open so we couldn't tell the wall had opened. So, that was frustrating. I wish all the clues were for a specific room where in that room. We were running back and forth between the white board (thank you god we had a place to write clues) and the middle room to sort through the coat of arms. If we can't have the white board in the same room as the clues, can we get notepads perhaps? The two gear shift wheels constantly shifted out of order any time you moved them--and you had to roll them together to get answers. They were incredibly hard to use. The wall gave us clues when we didn't ask. Why? Overall, we had a good time and would go back. We'd probably pick a different room though. read more

If I could give less than 1 star I would. I just visited the McKinney location today and signed up to participate in the Nitro room and the instructions for the theme for the room didn't start so our group had no idea what the objective of the room was. When we left after finishing we spoke with Christian the manager to discuss what happened and he was very rude. He did not apologize or offer any compensation for what happened he proceeded to argue with my friend that the theme of the room was not needed to complete the puzzles. We paid for an experience and an apology would have been warranted. I had friends who had never been to an escape room before and this was not the experience I am used to. I am very disappointed and will not be back. read more

My family and I have done over 50 escape rooms combined - we've even in participated in an Escapology escape room in San Diego and had a great time. We thought we would have a similar experience at this establishment. While they were very accommodating of us changing our reservation number of people, one of the puzzles had a malfunction during our game and we actually got penalized time as the game master came to troubleshoot the puzzle. When the game master to fix the glitch, she asked us what the combinations were to get into the safe because she had forgot what it was. She also left the room repeatedly to get a new key each time to unlock the safe and looked irritated to have to help us. At the end, our time left to solve the puzzle somehow glitched and went from 4 minutes to only 48 seconds at the very end leaving us unable to open the last lock (despite having the correct combination - lock was faulty). When we brought this up with the game master, we were met with a blank stare and an "I'm sorry." Additionally, during the game when we would ask for a "hint," the hint referred to steps that we had already solved so it was a complete waste of time. This was a less than stellar escape room experience and we left pretty unhappily. read more

Next to Urban Air, so you can hear screaming kids through the wall in the lobby....Certainly not peaceful. Spent $142 for 2 adults and 1 child. Certainly NOT WORTH THE PRICE! Zero customer service. No one walked us out or asked how it was or offered to take our picture when we finished. The escape room itself was fine, but nothing special compared to others around. I would go on a Monday or Thur when it's $60 for 4, but would never go back otherwise. Too many other options around. read more

Escapology is an escape room for new escape room players. It has great decorations and the look of the rooms is very in character. However, I almost felt babied when I played. They gave us so many hints when we didn't ask for any them and it took the fun out of trying to figure out puzzles. The second time around we specifically ask them not to give hints unless we press the button for a hint, and we still received messages every 3 minutes or so. The second game we played wasn't reset properly meaning the game host had to walk into our room during the game and three puzzles were messed up. The games have such high potential with fun decorations, puzzles, and surprises, but the performance and decisions of the staff made the experience unsatisfying as I left. read more

the game master was terrible and giving us terrible hints, which we even already knew the hints. the locks barely worked, we even had to have her come in and open the safe for us since it didn't work. then on our last lock, we had the right code but the lock wasn't opening and we weren't able to escape because of that. the game master came in and told us what it was, and we knew that (even written down on the white board) and she tried it and it took 2 times for her to get it unlocked. we could've escaped if the locks worked read more
